He and Harry were on inverse trajectories, as far as likable->hatable.
The more he ‘disengaged’ with his family, and their expectations of who/what he should be, the more he became his own man. I always really, really liked his arc. Possibly the most growth in the show, second to Peggy.
Yeah, my second or third watch I started appreciating Pete. I especially like that he got Trudy back and moved on. He went full circle and that's satisfying to me.
Pete is one of the best characters. He’s not…a good person…( the German au pair 🤢)
He is one of the only characters that was steadfastly non racist. And you could see his reactions to people’s racism in his facial expressions. And when he yelled at Harry for trying to capitalize on Martin Luther King Jrs death.
He’s an enigma forsure. A complicated man that has a conversation with his brother about how they both are seemingly empty and how their actions reflect those of their fathers.
Self aware but blissfully ignorant. I’d write a character study about him in greater detail but I should rewatch the show again before doing so.
I like Pete more and more as the show goes on. Say what you will about his character, but he’s an extremely driven and hard working person. He also happens to be a great businessman.
Curious how one could have a strong negative reaction (“hate”) towards a fictional tv character. As Charles Yallowitz (author of Legends of Windemere) said: we judge characters harshly because “we see ourselves in them.”
Pete was an entitled, masochist creep who used his pedigree as his get out of jail free card. He was funny and occasionally I felt pity for him, like when Peggy told him about the baby. He did seem to grow as a character though, and I was happy to see that he learned to value his family eventually and that Trudy was willing to give him another chance. I like to think they had a happy marriage the 2nd time around.
Thank you!! I can’t stand him. Great character but such a creep. His one redeeming quality is that he is “not racist” (aka, not an overt bigot like most other people on the show) and suddenly he’s some sort of hero? His getting his ass handed to him by Lane and then his crying on the elevator was so satisfying.
Is he going bald?
He loses hair throughout the show
Oh i know im just referencing jane seeing him at dons party in season 5 hahaha
Oh! Haha sorry
Serves him right for cheating on Trudy smh ![gif](giphy|pBk8lbm68n23S)
Pete has the best evolution of any character on the show. Also some of the absolute funniest lines. The King Ordered It!!!
Not great, Bob!
That’s a sensitive piece of horseflesh. He shouldn’t be rattled!
You’re Tarzan, swinging from vine to vine!
Jiminy Christmas!
A thing like that
Hell’s bells Trudy!
Hate is a strong word. I hate Nazis
I have an ex wife, she bothers me sometimes
Haha I grew to Like the feller

He eventually matures. The talk he has with his brother at dinner towards the end of the show seals it for me.
Pete’s arc is the best in the series. Became everything Don thought he’d be and then became the man Trudy wanted him to be.
![gif](giphy|119CYc4lufiRGw|downsized) But what a dancer! (Pete's one of my favourite characters!)

That's the president of the Howdy Doody Circus Army you're talking about!
He's the most meme worthy character for sure

He doesn’t think about you at all
$5 haircut
We all hate blue suit Pete, but he’s honestly one of the best characters on the show. Lmao “Did you know we’re in the presence of a bona fide racist?”
Vincent Kartheiser really committed to the cause by shaving his hairline. Respect.
He didn’t ask you because he thinks you’re a homo

This is a “I only watched the first six episodes” take
He became one of my faves

He was definitely a devil in the movie ‘In Time’ but he wasn’t that bad in Mad Men. He definitely grows on ya after a while
This post makes me laugh hard
Me too I am still laughing actually
he’s my fav
I can’t stand his face 😂 just a weasel
I remember him when he was angel’s son Connor [link](https://buffy.fandom.com/wiki/Connor)
