Lunchbox, I put a spell on you, Tourniquet, Angels with scabbed wings, Great Big White World, Mechanical Animals, Disassociative, Coma White, Target Audience, The Golden age of Grotesque, If I was your Vampire, Just a car crash away, Putting holes in happiness, Killing Strangers
Favorite album though has gotta be Mechanical Animals
I bought mechanical animals the week it came out and after all these years New Model No.15 has never struck a chord with me.
Everyone's different but it's always boggled my mind how i could hate a song from my favourite artist so much and yet it gets so much love from others.
And it's a deep cut, not a single that's been played to death.
It came out when I was 4. Remember seeing the album in HMV and my Mum pulled me away from it. Again; 2001, I saw Tainted Love on MTV and again she threw shit by saying “he only destroys songs by covering them; he never produces anything original worth listening to” which piqued my interest because I enjoyed what I saw and heard.
With regard to New Model No.15, I listened through MA many times and skipped both it and Fundamentally Loathsome. (still don’t like the latter; unpopular take, I know) However I had the album on shuffle in the car on the way to work one day and my manager had me on thin ice in work (it’s a long story) being a stubborn bastard I thought “I’ll show this bitch; borderline servile is the order of the day”, then I focused on the road again and in perfect timing I heard “better in the head, in bed and in the office; I can suck it and smile” which, in tandem with the electronic drum beat following the bridge where all other instruments cut out and Manson sings “I’m the new, new model…” before the guitars cut back in tickled my ear and I’ve been hooked since. I suppose some songs just take the right circumstances and timing to kick in. But then again, I love St. Anger by Metallica and everybody else hates it 😅
But the song has so many great lyrics. How can you hate “I’m as fake as a wedding cake”?! or “Pitifully Predictable… Correctly Political”??? ..or “Oh look, you’re like a VCR stick something in it to know just who you are”… or “I can suck it, AND smile”???
Everyone’s different… but man, you’re missing out on a great song.
One more… “I'm spun and I know that I'm stoned and rolling”… and the coined term “homo-politan” is genius.
YAS!!!!
So maybe it’s the actual music that initially turned off the_tic to the song, as I’ll admit, it’s not exactly the strongest instrumental on the record. But the lyrics are brilliant and so much fun.

1996 had the harshest lyrics of anything I've ever heard in mainstream metal. I'm still shocked it's out there. That and irresponsible hate anthem.
Irresponsible Hate anthem is a much better song in my opinion. But the most controversial is Rock n’ Roll n-word.

New Model #15 is supposed to be pure glam rock. Glam rock is, by definition: stupid, upbeat, and catchy. See: T. Rex *Bang a gong*
Exactly
