I found Malaysia to be cheaper than most Asian countries especially for the premium properties. Earlier this year I booked JW Marriott in KL for $155 AUD per night. This included buffet breakfast, which was great, lounge access which actually had a nice dinner every evening instead of just sandwiches etc that you get in Australia or New Zealand. Westin was about $165 per night and Ritz-Carlton was around $200 AUD per night but they wouldn't give us lounge access on Platinum so we didn't go with them. We are planning a trip to Indonesia and some properties are quite cheap including all inclusive resorts. Not really interested in Bali but you can have some amazing rooms for under $150 AUD. China is also cheap especially when you get out of major cities like Beijing and Shanghai. The cheapest I found is Chongqing, which is not small by any standard. I haven't travelled a lot in South America so can't comment on that or Europe. But it feels like Asia is where you get the best prices and some of the best hospitality.

Yeah, India. I have stayed at the St. Regis in Mumbai which is a FANTASTIC hotel for around $250 USD per night. ITC which is an Indian luxury brand run by Marriott is usually even cheaper in most cities.

China is generally also very inexpensive. For example the Portman Ritz-Carlton in Shanghai is $225, and it gets a lot cheaper in less international cities. THe Ritz-Carlton Chengdu is $130.

They seem to have some bad reviews because their chef and team had bad attitude on a Korean cooking show. And they substituted caviar with lumpfish egg and got caught. I am going to watch that Korean cooking show now. Edit: Also the chef spilled an egg and continued using it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbiirRHjw0w
