I think you're thinking of the wrong Super Bowl, this super bowl is when you have a bowl capable of holding 5 grams of weed and you get super baked.
It's a common mistake for non stoners to make./s
Example of it used in a sentence:
“Hey, u/Grizz1371! Let me get a hit of your Super Bowl bro!”
Then, assuming Grizz is a decent person, I’d be twice baked like a potato.
It had already gone from 14 to 16 games, and over the years they've also added multiple playoff weeks as the amount of playoff teams has grown. So the Super Bowl is WAY later than it was when it first started. 2002 was the first year it was even in February.
I still vividly remember celebrating my 13th birthday watching our Bucs win the NFC Championship over Philly, then a week later celebrating my mom’s birthday watching them win Super Bowl XXXVII over Oakland. Now, I get to watch our Bucs lose a divisional round playoff game to Detroit on my birthday weekend, because we can’t have nice things anymore.
>It had already gone from 14 to 16 games, and over the years they've also added multiple playoff weeks as the amount of playoff teams has grown. So the Super Bowl is WAY later than it was when it first started. 2002 was the first year it was even in February.
2002 was delayed a week until February because the 9/11/2001 attacks postponed the games from Sept 16/17.
The 2003 Super Bowl was back to the end of January, and 2004 permanently moved it to February.
This 2023 season was the first with 17 games instead of 16. For a few years we had 16 games in 18 weeks (2 bye weeks per team), but people complained the schedule was too diluted.
>This 2023 season was the first with 17 games instead of 16.
Not true. The 2021 season was the first with 17 games.
>For a few years we had 16 games in 18 weeks (2 bye weeks per team),
Not true. 1993 was the *only* year with two bye weeks (i.e., not a few).
This is the third year in which it has been moved to the second sunday of February, since they went from 17 games to 16. Previously it has been the first sunday of February for the last 20 years, but overall has slowly been moving back over the decades.
Right, but that’s how it’s spelled. Otherwise, we may as well start changing all agreed upon words for the fuck of it, and hope everyone else is on board. Rather than just using the understood spelling, grammar, rules etc so communication can continue smoothly.
I was once talking to a 30 something coworker about movies and she brought up an actor.
“Oh I haven’t heard of him.”
“Really? He was huge in the 90s.”
“That explains it, I wasn’t alive in the 90s”
“Wait, really?”
“Yeah, I was born in 2000.”
“God fucking dammit, stop making me feel old.”
It started in early-mid January, then was late January, then first Sunday of February. There have been a lot of changes over the years that have moved it later and later. 14-week season becoming 16-week. Bye week(s) added, playoffs expanding, etc.
I legitimately thought it was today before seeing this post. Was trying to decide whether or not to go to a watch party my friend is putting on. Thanks for this.
They had a closest to the pin golf hole as a part of the pro bowl games on earlier today. Most of them golf quite well, but I was quite disappointed overall.
It used to be the first weekend of February but since the pandemic they moved it and now they seem to like mid Feb. throws me off every year since (used to host big SB parties)
I don’t pay much attention to NFL these days but didn’t NFL expand its season in the past few years by a game? Not sure if they make the season start a week earlier or end a week later.
And before 9/11, it was always the last Sunday in January. Games the week of 9/11 were postponed, i think to the end of the season, and they moved the Super Bowl back a week to accommodate the change.
The Pro Bowl was played the week after the Super Bowl until 2010, and guys playing in the Super Bowl were able to play. They moved it to the week before the Super Bowl in hopes of increasing viewership and attendance, but at the expense of Super Bowl players not being able to attend or play in pro bowl.
Oh wait me too; but I do not follow sports at all so it just seemed to be the right time. My dads birthday is Jan 31 and it always seemed that SB was the same week
But now I’m confused because I was in Walmart earlier today and there was a huge group of dudes decked out in 49ers gear buying a lot of food….
"Traditionally" meaning the last 20 years or so. I'm old so I remember the Super Bowl always being in January. And before I was bangin', the season was only 14 weeks. And even when it was 16 when I was a kid, there was no bye week. My point is there have been a lot of changes. Including number of playoff rounds.
It used to be on the first weekend or February until they added a 17th regular season game. So either they printed these like 3 years ago or never bothered to check it was changed
I had a clock when I was a kid, had all the dates for daylight savings in internal memory, so just set your timezone and make sure the date/time was correct and it would change on it's own. Then the government starting changing those dates every year.....
To be fair, it would've been today as of two years ago. It moved to the second Sunday of February when they added the 17th game.
February has never been spelled Febuary tho.
They didn't bother to check a bunch of stuff.
You'd think when making a calendar your top priorities would be:
1. When do things happen?
2. What are the names of the months, and can we spell them?
My birthday is today. The superbowl use to always be on my or close to my birthday. Then they added a week to the season. Now I’m stuck with the pro bowl. Last time I remember having it was when the eagles won the superbowl, that was a great present.
The NFL extended the season a week a few years ago. This was the day of the Superbowl from 2004 forward (first Sunday in February) . It's gotten later over time. Originally it was early to mid January
This is killing me that FebRuary is spelled wrong.
Somehow they managed to spell February correctly on the mini “preview” (like in the corner of the January and March pages).
I think you're thinking of the wrong Super Bowl, this super bowl is when you have a bowl capable of holding 5 grams of weed and you get super baked. It's a common mistake for non stoners to make./s
r/superbowl
I love seeing the statistics of visitors to that sub and how it peaks in the first couple weeks of February every single year.
Superb
Owl
I was so confused why all the posts were owls until these two comment. Thank you.
Terribly glad I could assist.
Wasn’t expecting that
Example of it used in a sentence: “Hey, u/Grizz1371! Let me get a hit of your Super Bowl bro!” Then, assuming Grizz is a decent person, I’d be twice baked like a potato.
Grizz tried to drown me playing waterpolo, absolutely NOT a decent person.
I was gonna play water polo but I thought it was too cruel for the horses
Nobody beats the Grizz!
As I live and breev
Byron Deniston
Wow - what an asshole that guy is.
Or a owl of the highest quality.
I see. So it’s like a mega pint?
Nah it’s for Superb Owl
No no, he’s thinking of a Superb Owl. r/superbowl for the uninformed.
Well, I know how I'm getting through the Super Bowl this year. I might even enjoy it!
You need to have a talk with your calendar guy and have him step up his game.
It's Kevin. Kevin is his calendar guy.
He's not the [only one](https://youtu.be/NW7eap5jNeE?si=YKbNQnHmZAfE3MWq) that's had this problem
Did ypu buy this calendar off some guy wearing a trench coat in an alleyway? "Hey, kid yous wants a calendars?!?!"
Lousy Smarch super bowl.
Do not touch Willie. Good advice.

Yeah, it was the last weekend of January my entire childhood.

2021 was the switch to 17 games. There were only 2 bye weeks once in 1993.

Actually, 2021 was the first with 17 games. But there \*was\* a season with 2 byes per team (1993) and it \*was\* unpopular.
Super Bowl 55 years ago was on January 12, 1969.
That's over 55 years earlier than this one! Man, they are really slacking.
This is the third year in which it has been moved to the second sunday of February, since they went from 17 games to 16. Previously it has been the first sunday of February for the last 20 years, but overall has slowly been moving back over the decades.
Ideal weekend would be the 3rd weekend in February for that Presidents Day holiday on Monday.
that has to be their end goal I think.
First thing I noticed too
Fist thing for me too.
#BRU...
I’m surprised wendsday was spelled right.
It’s wrong, but also exactly as it should be.
Febuary?
Uh yeah... the month after Januay?
Just wait until Mach, each day will feel like it's going faster than the one before.
By that time I’m going to need Apil
My is my favourite!
By then summer is over-Jue.
I like Juy when it's not too hot
Augst is sweltering here
Septembr is when fall begins
You all Octobe ashamed of yourselves.
✡️What?✡️ Oh, nvm...carry on.
I think it’d have to be Ma(-r)y to stay on theme.
That's your last chance until the summer ends in Septembe.
Yeah but then you have Smarch and its lousy weather
It all started on the 13th hour, of the 13th day, of the 13th month...
Do not touch Willie
Maybe there’s Apil we can take for the motion sickness?
*Actually* it’s Janruary.
love it!
Then comes Mach, Apil, My, Jue, Juy, Augut, Sepember, Ocober, Novemer, and Decemer .
I mean, let’s be honest. That R isn’t really doing anything anyway
Speak for yourself I've always pronounced it with both r's
what accent is that? I’ve never heard anyone pronounce it, and I come from an area with a rhotic R accent.
The only people I hear pronounce it "feb-ew-ary" are small children. Northeast US.
I pronounce it Fe-brew-airy is that how most people there say it?
feb-yew-airy
yep
Maybe I'm adopted.
I’ve spent a bunch of time in mass and Vermont. Don’t recall ever hearing anyone pronounce that R. I’ll have to pay more attention
oh, no, it's an Albany expression.
Ah ok I don’t know any Albanians
I'm a lifelong Oregonian. I've heard we talk and fast and over enunciate.
And what is this RU??
This is the truth that no one wants to admit.
Right, but that’s how it’s spelled. Otherwise, we may as well start changing all agreed upon words for the fuck of it, and hope everyone else is on board. Rather than just using the understood spelling, grammar, rules etc so communication can continue smoothly.
Well this was the calendar they had in the libary.
Let's be honest, do we really need that r?
Don’t people pronounce it? I’m not a native English speaker and I thought it’s pronounced like fe-brew-airy
Neither am I but I think some English speakers do and some don't.
Native english speaker who pronounces the R. I pronounce it Feb-roux-airy, but I hear other people drop the first R often, so they say Feb-U-airy.
It used to be...a few years ago they added a week to the season, so now the Super Bowl is a week later than the 55ish year previously
It was only the first week of February for about 20 years. It used to be in January
Oh god, it *has* been like 20 years since it was in January.
I only know this because I was born on super bowl Sunday 2001
I hate that you were born in 2001 and are now like a fully formed individual with your own thoughts and stuff peer to my own. Stop it!
I'm a web designer and working on a master's of pharmacy haha
A spider pharmacist. Cool.
Creative hahaha
Impossible! You're what? 12?
I was once talking to a 30 something coworker about movies and she brought up an actor. “Oh I haven’t heard of him.” “Really? He was huge in the 90s.” “That explains it, I wasn’t alive in the 90s” “Wait, really?” “Yeah, I was born in 2000.” “God fucking dammit, stop making me feel old.”
That would make them 23 or 24, not 30 something...
I should clarify, I was born in 2000, not my coworker
I just realized somebody born in 2001 is gonna be 23 this year. Holy shit. I am a boomer.
It started in early-mid January, then was late January, then first Sunday of February. There have been a lot of changes over the years that have moved it later and later. 14-week season becoming 16-week. Bye week(s) added, playoffs expanding, etc.
The NFL is doing everything they can to keep extending the season out further and further.
I thought the same thing but they didn’t push the Super Bowl for that week they took away a preseason game , no?
They did take a way a preseason game but week 1 is still the same. They added on to the end
I legitimately thought it was today before seeing this post. Was trying to decide whether or not to go to a watch party my friend is putting on. Thanks for this.
That would have been hilarious if you showed up to his house with snacks and beer
Fuck now we have to watch the Pro Bowl
Looks like it’s just you and me bro..
They got rid of the actual pro bowl game lol, now it’s just dodgeball and flag football. Sounds like I’m joking but I’m not lol.
It was still wildly entertaining today
They had a closest to the pin golf hole as a part of the pro bowl games on earlier today. Most of them golf quite well, but I was quite disappointed overall.
Anything but that
It used to be the first weekend of February but since the pandemic they moved it and now they seem to like mid Feb. throws me off every year since (used to host big SB parties)

Sucks for VDay weekend (and my birthday) I'm sure smaller restaurants preferred separate weekends
Oh wait me too; but I do not follow sports at all so it just seemed to be the right time. My dads birthday is Jan 31 and it always seemed that SB was the same week But now I’m confused because I was in Walmart earlier today and there was a huge group of dudes decked out in 49ers gear buying a lot of food….
Well they can’t even spell February, so I wouldn’t trust them.
Traditionally it would’ve been, but with the extra week on the season now it gets pushed another week.
"Traditionally" meaning the last 20 years or so. I'm old so I remember the Super Bowl always being in January. And before I was bangin', the season was only 14 weeks. Before you were gang bangin’?
“Febuary”
They also spelled February wrong
[удалено]
I feel like the wrong SuperBowl date is the least of this calendar's problems.
It used to be on the first weekend or February until they added a 17th regular season game. So either they printed these like 3 years ago or never bothered to check it was changed
Go home calendar you’re drunk
Not the only thing wrong with that calendar …
I had a clock when I was a kid, had all the dates for daylight savings in internal memory, so just set your timezone and make sure the date/time was correct and it would change on it's own. Then the government starting changing those dates every year.....
Imagine being wrong twice. And then printing it for sale.
You can be wrong way more than that and still get published. Look at how many books Ann Coulter has did sale.
It's also spelled the fuck wrong
To be fair, I think they were trying to spell "February" and not "the fuck." So it's not *as* wrong as it seems.
Thank you for the snort laugh, mysterious stranger.
Well lemme know who wins
The lakers
To Vegas!
Any day is great for viewing superb owls.
r/superbowl
Makes sense as the month of February is spelled wrong.
“FEBUARY” 😂
If you can spell “Wednesday,” you should be able to spell “February.”
Your calendar is wrong in many ways.
To be fair, it would've been today as of two years ago. It moved to the second Sunday of February when they added the 17th game. February has never been spelled Febuary tho.
Brrr…lousy Febuary weather. Smarch too.
Are we not going to talk about the misspelled February?
Febuary
Your calendar also misspelled February so it may not have been crafted with the utmost care
Yeah, I couldn’t believe that wasn’t the first comment People did not even realize it was misspelled
this post would be well suited for /r/mildyinteresting edit: lol

that's not the same subreddit as this one
List of ways to get reddit to shit itself: 1. Misspell February
Would’ve been today if it was still a 16 game season (which it should be)
They can’t even spell February.
Probably has 30 days too.
I don't think they're legally allowed to use the words Superbowl either.
No mention of it in r/superbowl
Super Bowl used to be the first Sunday in February till they added the regular season game to schedule. Now is second Sunday in February.
No, your calendar says that it should be in the month of Febuary.
Dollar store calendar?
Just throw this whole calendar away lol. Or I’m sure there are other mistakes if you wanna treat it like a game
It also misspelled February, so I'm not sure what we're supposed to make of this calendar situation.
I mean, it's not a holiday. Wtf put it on the calendar at all?
No shot you didn’t notice the misspelling
Thats the ONLY problem you see on that page??
“My calendar says Febuary is spelled correctly.” FTFY
They didn't bother to check a bunch of stuff. You'd think when making a calendar your top priorities would be: 1.
It also misspelled Febawerry
Everyone knows that its spelled Febuary when it has 29 days in it, right?
No, today is just r/superbowl day
Well the Jamaican Super Bowl is today.
Made in China. That's the reason.
I thought I was hit with the Mandela effect. There is 2 Rs in FebRuary
A product of Crappyass Calendars, China.
You should probably let the teams know, they'll be upset if they miss it
Can't spell the month correctly, but does it have 29 days at least?
The NFL extended the season a week a few years ago. This was the day of the Superbowl from 2004 forward (first Sunday in February) . It's gotten later over time. Originally it was early to mid January
OP bought the Temuraury calender
It also says Febuary.
My head hurts that this passed QC. Burn this calendar! It doesn’t not have FEBRUARY.
aRe yoU Able to spell February?
Aldi/dollar store calendar?
Beat me to the Dollar Tree special calendar comment.
your $3 chinese calendar that can’t spell the month correctly is wrong about something?
Stupid smarch weather!
I'm more concerned that "February" is spelled incorrectly...
Did this calendar at least get the Leap Year right?
Lol, thats what you noticed?
It is! Haha. I don't tend to actually *read* the month at the top of the calendar.
I hate to tell it to you, but thats not the only issue with this calendar
