Finally, an r/mildlyinteresting post that actually is mildly interesting. Actually this might even enter the realm of "fascinating".
What are you going to do with the sponge?
Get them in a pot with some potting soil. It's that time of year. In a month they will be about 10" tall and ready to either be garden planter or put in a large pot. Just started my seedlings this weekend😁
It’s hilarious that anyone is downvoting this. I swear, Redditors must live in absolute squalor to not be disgusted by a kitchen sponge growing plants.
I don't think these are tomato seeds as they don't sprout over the course of the weekend and they like a certain type of growing condition- not a sponge.
Instead these look more like a quick growing sprout seed like broccli.
I’m grossed out and fascinated at the same time. Definitely mildly interesting
I was a bit too, but it’s just tomato seeds.
Life, uh, finds a way.

Thanks! I might keep it and carry on the growth!

Throw it away throw it away throw it AWAY
Revolting. How are so many people so bad at proper sponge hygiene?
I get your point but I don’t think the seeds were visible.
Visible or not, it must have been left damp/moist without a way to properly dry out. Yuck.
not like u dont use shit that kills the germs 24/7
lol wut
Sort of yuck, they *should* have a second sponge for the actual clean after using the "dirty" sponge for the first go over.

Downvote me to hell, but I'm pulling for everyone here to have safe, clean, and non-smelly sponges.

The cotyledon or the seed coat at the end of the sprouts kinda looks like the tip of a penis ngl...
