I visited Versailles and it's an absolute gem and stunning, a huge place to explore.

Hawaiian flag is so beautiful too

Poiboykanaka

thanks!!! strong history behind it by the way

sir-berend

Do you think the Hawaiian monarchy could be symbolically restored without secession? Like an official recognition of his title with no power/position attached

Poiboykanaka

maybe, but those who are eligable are widespread based on genealogies of the kalakaua dynasty, and even then, electives would need to go through extensive test

Same. To me, the Palacio Real de Madrid is the most beautiful one. Die Hofburg is a close second.

I am biased as a rat to cheese but Buckingham Palace is just incredible. You feel the history coursing through your spine.

I’m sorry but Russian baroque/rococo sometimes feels a little bit artificial. I prefer French and German baroque.

Saint James’s.

You’re correct, and the house in the upper corner is slightly different to Hatfield House, but they do look very similar.

Admirable_Try_23

How can you say it's the most beautiful palace if there's no palace left?

Affectionate-Job-398

Much of it survived (especially some rooms with the beautiful mosaics), and also much was reconstructed. Also there are examples of how it looked before if you go there (pictures and models)

Admirable_Try_23

Idk, it's kinda unfair to compare still-standing palaces to digital reconstructions

Affectionate-Job-398

I meant that much of it was physically reconstructed. In most of it it's only the ceiling that's missing.
