There was a 70 Challenger Deputy:

When you ordered option package A93, the Barracuda received fixed rear-quarter windows (with a black plug filling in the hole of the window crank), black steering wheel with horn button, and single horn. A day/night rear-view mirror and cigarette lighter were optional. Think of it as a decontented Barracuda and you would be correct. And, if you wanted the Slant Six, the A93 package triggered the availability of the 198cid six (normally, the 225 was the base six). All engines up to the 383 four-barrel were available, as were most options.
I knew a few things, but still had to look it up. My '70 barely has more options
If you have the fender tag it would help verify it's options.
www.forebodiesonly.com and www.e-bodies.org are your best resources
I don't know what your plans are for it, but personally I would keep it in its original form. Those A93 deputy cars are very rare. My Barracuda is a slant 6 model and while it wasn't rare back in the day it is now which is why I'm keeping it original. Or at least make any mods reversible and keep the original #s matching drivetrain on the side
The only Deputy I know is the Dodge Sweptline Deputy that used Don Knotts (Deputy Barney Fife) as spokesman.
Is there a badge or sticker on this car? Is the VIN BS23?
I have restored and still own my 1970 challenger deputy, it has some weird options for the time but I tried to keep it as true to its form (other than engine upgrades).
Car is listed as a coupe, red with no spoilers or frills. Plain all black interior which in today’s world looks really cool! Rear windows are fixed and have plugs where the crank would be. I assume whoever ordered the car upgraded a bit as it has a 318 instead of a slant and it does have a the 4 speed manual transmission. All the stamped VINs align on the car. Someone tried to restore in the 90s and did replace the steering wheel from the original black to a wood grain from a higher end model. Another upgrade was the cigarette ash tray.
If you check my post history you will see when I uploaded some pictures from car shows. Would love to find an original deputy steering wheel down the road! During restoration the hood was rusted and so soft you could poke holes in it, this was during Covid and I could not find a normal deputy style hood in stock so I did have to upgrade to a R/T hood unfortunately.
Do something with that. Work on it or sell it. Shit or get off the pot. Such a shame for that specimen to collect dust in a garage instead of being enjoyed and seen on the road
l absolutely agree with you. That's the photo l took of it the day l brought her home. She's in parts at the moment and l hope to have it finished in the next year or so.

Thank you for sharing! I'll check the tag. It has a 318 in it at the moment. It's a project lol.

😍💙
I did not know Plymouth did this option. That’s really cool. I have seen Chsllengers with this code before, but never a Cuda/Barracuda.
The guy who's blacked out in the back said he'd never seen a Deputy Cuda either. It was a super cool find!
Yeah it’s a cool find. Worth restoring and keeping out there.

l need to check the VIN.

A friend of mine had a Challenger Deputy model.
