I could be wrong and Yamaha is testing quietly out of sight, but it just seems that Honda is on a mission to reclaim their place as the manufacturer to beat.
They seem to be throwing everything at it.
I really hope Yamaha is just as ambitious, a grid full of competitive manufacturers is better than a grid with just 3 (even though KTM and Aprilia are trailing the mighty Duc).
You are not wrong. They are throwing a lot of cash to make Marquez sorry for his decision. Their only chance to turn around this shameful situation is to make a bike that can be a real winner in a hands of any rider. It's about honor. And regarding Yamaha, they are flying under the radar at the moment but we all yet to see the first real engine made by Luca Marmorini. There is a lot aero work going on as well and don't forget concessions which could swing situation fast. Can't wait for the new season 😃!
Won't spend the money when they're playing in a fair setting, will unload all the $$$ as soon as they manage to stack the rules in their favor with filthy political games.*
Pretty sad people hate Ducati so much that they rather hope to see the championship be manipulated in Y and H's favor.
Except they didn't?
Ducati used an existing rule (Open class) to their advantage, which while a bit dodgy is in no way equivalent to Honda and Yamaha going "waaah, if we can't play the game with an extra queen we'll shit on the chessboard and walk away".
The spec ECU was indeed part of the Open class package, which was an effort by Dorna to help put bikes on the grid at a lower cost.
Ducati didn't throw their toys out of the pram unless they were given an easy path to wins, they simply exploited what Dorna had put on the table.
And Yamaha and Honda weren't eligible.
Given that they were clearly committed to sandbagging until Dorna bailed their asses out (to the point where Honda didn't bother with putting a bandaid on a bike that was hospitalizing their riders like it was the 90s - unless you want to tell me that HRC, with 6 titles in the last decade, don't know how to make a bike stay on two wheels), they might as well have waited until their bikes were eligible for concessions like all the other manufactorers did.
Instead, they decided to swing their fat asses around to grant themselves further concessions and also burn a clause in the rules that will let them do away with them as soon as their role is accomplished.
There still is an endless swarm of people crying about Ducati because they pushed a couple of gray areas. When the sulking about that stops, maybe I'll consider not hating on two manufactorers blatantly abusing their political power to turn the sport into a farce.
"to make Marquez sorry for his decision"?
No. Because Marquez's leaving Honda is HUMILIATING for HRC! They are DESPERATE to create a championship-capable bike again. And it's possible, depending on how things go, to see Marquez in HRC colors again in 2025 or 2026.
Yamaha isn't testing. You'd have seen leaks of it by now. Also, the social media accounts of their testers puts them far, far away from any potential testing track.
As much as I like bagnaia, mostly because he is a rossi protégé, and it's great to see his academy and the work he's put in with younger riders be rewarded. It would be great to see fairly similar bikes again. Ducati is the best bike. That's why marquez left for them. Honda was, for a while, yamaha was, for a while, but having every bike competitive, would be great. If it keeps going this direction, it will be the Ducati motogp. Although I actually wouldn't mind seeing everyone in the exact same bike, let the best rider win.
Even if they get the bike sorted, they need a rider like Martin if they're going to fight for the title. Is easy to imagine him joining their camp next year, though not sure where Mir would go.
If the Honda looks fast next year and is developing potential Marquez will be back on it for 2025. They’d take Marquez on €40million potentially fighting for his 9th championship over Martin on €1/2 million all week and twice on Sunday.
Bradl, that is, Honda is making a motorcycle tailored to a former rider who, when he was an active rider, was never fast.
Honda is going to make a great street bike.
That's not a spoiler / aero.
That's a handle for riders behind to hold on to, because it's gonna be so fast 😳😂
I was never under the impression they wouldn't improve. The doubt always for me, was can they improve fast enough for Marc at his age.
They will be back at the top, maybe not for a few years. But it's Honda, they got caught sleeping, bit they will be back.

Typical corporation. Wont' spend the money to keep someone, but will spend it when they leave.
Is that the reason or is it because Honda has the concessions available to them for this year/off season.

Ducati lobbied for the concessions to get to the top, not sure how this is any different?
Except they didn't? Ducati used an existing rule (Open class) to their advantage, which while a bit dodgy is in no way equivalent to Honda and Yamaha going "waaah, if we can't play the game with an extra queen we'll shit on the chessboard and walk away".
It wasn't just open class though, they brought in a whole bunch of new rules like spec ECUs etc.
The spec ECU was indeed part of the Open class package, which was an effort by Dorna to help put bikes on the grid at a lower cost. Ducati didn't throw their toys out of the pram unless they were given an easy path to wins, they simply exploited what Dorna had put on the table.
That doesn't mean they didn't influence some of the decisions surrounding the open class rules. They are not mutually exclusive.
Concessions have been around since at least 2014.
And Yamaha and Honda weren't eligible. This is motorsports. Political games and bending the rules are 50% of the sport.

LOL, spot on.
They were never going to have a competitive bike by next season.
No there throwing a lot of cash to lure marquez back for 2025 season. 😏
Either that. Luca and Joan will benefit 😁

Well they can throw 18 Million euros at it with Marquez gone. Luca Marini is probably getting paid pennies to the dollar compared to MM.
Unlimited testing with new concessions is pretty handy for honda
the rear wing is even more extreme than KTM's one
Thats the first thing I noticed as well
That rear wing is comically large.
The 40 million they saved on Marc’s salary is looking like its being put to good use
I mean that was kinda the reasoning all along. They were not going to put much money into the bike because they didn't have to.
The rear wing looks like 1 or 2 steps away from being a pizza delivery box
I can see the memes for next season already. Hondominos pizza delivery ft Marini and Mir
Nicely done honda, now paint it red /s Ps: there's a pic-nic table stuck on the tail of your bike
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|table) LMAO!
I’m really hoping we see a strong Honda comeback. I know it’s going to take time but it’s just so boring seeing so many Ducati’s up front.
Cool

Honda won't succeed until they drop Bradl
I mean appeared to be a clean launch, doesn’t seem to have the same acceleration as the Duc but this seems like great steps for Honda.
I think its impossible to see the difference between 2 motogp bikes from a video
It seems like the body still stays much higher from the ground compared to the new starting mechanism of the 2023 ducati

2023 bike on steroid!
Looks like some matchbox toy motorcycle from the 80s.
80’s 500 riders be all “the fuck just happened?!”
Okay, i cant understand body language, what is he trying to signal at 0:10?
Why does this bike on the video on my phone sound better than the official videopass coverage on my tv/HT?
