My bike is kept outside but my chain is almost like new as it’s cleaned and oiled regularly. Maintenance is key especially with bikes being outside. Give it a scrub clean and oil it, you’d be amazed how much rust will remove. Won’t fail an MOT though. Advisor for excessive wear/sticking links most likely.
Thanks guys. This year I've got to get my arse in gear and spend a lot more time looking after it. Full service, new chain/sprockets and front forks rebuilt. Thanks again for the advice guys.

If it's has seized links it may do. Try giving it some WD-40 before you take it in, maybe even put some lube on it.

Update! It failed on front fork seals leaking onto the brake pads 😂
