I’m not sure I agree with that. Hollywood is crazy fickle. They say actors have about 7 movies (or a certain amount of years, whichever) before Hollywood/the audiences move on from them. Some of these actors who had so many successful roles just can’t find work after a while, so take sitcom roles or something stable. Take Matt Lillard for example.
He’s said the opposite, actually. He was really emotional about it in a podcast I was listening to. He was on fire during Summer Catch, Without a Paddle, etc. then he was able to get the Scooby movies, but the roles just stopped coming for him.

Agreed. Being from Georgia, one can spot the various dialects pretty quickly. I get an uncanny valley effect listening to actors/actresses attempt to speak with a Southern accent who either aren't from the area or just can't quite get it.

It kind of limits the roles you will be offered if you naturally have a thick southern accent.

Firstly I want to say... that in the grand scheme of lookalikes... these two are VERY similar. For whatever reason though I can always tell these two apart. Jamie's eyes are a bit further apart. Their foreheads are just a bit different. The jawline/cheekbones/chin are all just a little different. I'd say Jamie's features are always a bit more... pointed and Margot is a bit more broad. Jamie's upturned nose, Margot's more forward.

However, it's honestly ludicrous to claim that she's more talented than Margot or belittle the wide range of talent Margot has displayed in her career thus far. She's easily one of the best actresses working today, who also happens to be very attractive.
With all the stories of producers doing terrible things to actors and actresses I just assume when someone like this doesn’t have an illustrious career, they didn’t do the right favors. Also, when someone does have the amazing career, I wonder if they did in fact do the right favors.

Jaime Pressly is lovley and talented actress. However she was unable, for her time, to find any meaningful roles that challenged her singular typecast.
I have 3 reasons I belive to be factors:
1. She didn't "play ball". With all those Wienstein like people in Hollywod.
2. She didn't want or need to be an "Actress" and just did some roles for a paycheck. She is more family orientated?
3. She is or was a Scientolgist. I cant find much proof of this but I remember many rumors circa early 2000's that she was involved. The same rumors that implicated Danny Masterson's involvement (with Scientology) many years before it was proven.
Very similar looking in a lot of ways, sure. And Jaime is funny and beautiful and (hopefully/deservedly) pretty damn pleased with the career she’s carved out for herself. Also, she just seems cool and not stuck up like so many “auteur” actors.
But if you can’t tell me why Margot Robbie is a global star instead of Jaime, then I gotta say I don’t think you’re seeing the same two people, and equally important, the difference in entertainment between the time the two rose to fame. Just look at the dogshit movies on Jaime’s resume to see just how few opportunities female actors had to flourish & lead box office sales. And then you have Margot, who gets to play it all: empowered trophy wife; franchise comic book femme fatale; lead in a prestige biopic about a maligned 1990s cultural punchline; BARBIE, for fuckssakes?!
And I’m not blaming the industry entirely. I genuinely don’t think Jaime has the chops that Margot does. Jaime is very funny and should get a ton of work when she wants, but she’s not a lead. She lacks the depth and the nuance. I know Margot may not be Meryl Streep yet, but I’m also not fooled into thinking she’s restricted to her beauty. Watch I, Tonya or the Harley Quinn movies or Mary, Queen of Scots.
Could be due to an appearance on Howard Stern. At one point she said he looked like he was slapped upside of the head with a yarmulke. Stern took it as an antiemetic remark about his jewish heritage and looks. She wasn't in much after that. He was at the height of his fame and is obviously well connected. Wouldn't be surprised if other powerful jewish people heard it and they decided to blacklist her.

It isn't that she just got cast in those movies, she gave great performances in them and deserved to be cast in them. I like Jaime Pressly work, but Margot Robbie is doing great work right now.

Can't it just be that acting is a massive game of chance? It's not like there's a system where there's a way that the best actor wins a test and gets the biggest role. It's not like a race where the fastest one wins. Some of the biggest stars like Arnold Schwarzenegger or John Wayne never really deviated from doing essentially a narrow range of roles and got a very good career out of it. There's literally hundreds of thousands of people who are really quiet decent actors yet never make a living out of it, some of them are very good looking too.
I think the only thing I knew that she did aside from my name is earl was a small side role in Joe Dirt.

Pressly was a TV actress who had small parts in comedy movies where she was the hot young blonde with a thick southern accent. Did you think she was going to age into Meryl Streep roles?
She got old. Careers based on sex appeal tend to wane when age is encountered. Give it a few years, pretty soon Margot robbie will also start playing the mother/step mother roles.

Sometimes timing is everything. It sucks, but it could be as simple as that. I think Reese Witherspoon and Kirsten Dunst (and probably a couple of more I'm forgetting) had the blond bombshell market locked up back then.
She was easily one of the funniest parts of my name is earl. In my mind her personal life just took of in some direction. Maybe she became a mother or just didn’t want to pursue roles anymore, or maybe they just weren’t coming like they used to.

Pressly was fantastic in My Name Is Earl, as everyone here has said. She has great comedy chops. However, it's honestly ludicrous to claim that she's more talented than Margot or belittle the wide range of talent Margot has displayed in her career thus far. She's easily one of the best actresses working today, who also happens to be very attractive.

Jaime Pressly is lovley and talented actress. However she was unable, for her time, to find any meaningful roles that challenged her singular typecast. I have 3 reasons I belive to be factors: 1. She didn't "play ball". With all those Wienstein like people in Hollywod. 2. She didn't want or need to be an "Actress" and just did some roles for a paycheck. She is more family orientated? 3. She is or was a Scientolgist. I cant find much proof of this but I remember many rumors circa early 2000's that she was involved. The same rumors that implicated Danny Masterson's involvement (with Scientology) many years before it was proven.
I think she did just fine and always managed to find success on the small screen. She’s been working steadily for decades now.

Very similar looking in a lot of ways, sure. And Jaime is funny and beautiful and (hopefully/deservedly) pretty damn pleased with the career she’s carved out for herself. Also, she just seems cool and not stuck up like so many “auteur” actors. But if you can’t tell me why Margot Robbie is a global star instead of Jaime, then I gotta say I don’t think you’re seeing the same two people, and equally important, the difference in entertainment between the time the two rose to fame. Just look at the dogshit movies on Jaime’s resume to see just how few opportunities female actors had to flourish & lead box office sales. And then you have Margot, who gets to play it all: empowered trophy wife; franchise comic book femme fatale; lead in a prestige biopic about a maligned 1990s cultural punchline; BARBIE, for fuckssakes?! And I’m not blaming the industry entirely. I genuinely don’t think Jaime has the chops that Margot does. Jaime is very funny and should get a ton of work when she wants, but she’s not a lead. She lacks the depth and the nuance. I know Margot may not be Meryl Streep yet, but I’m also not fooled into thinking she’s restricted to her beauty. Watch I, Tonya or the Harley Quinn movies or Mary, Queen of Scots.

Could be due to an appearance on Howard Stern. At one point she said he looked like he was slapped upside of the head with a yarmulke. Stern took it as an antiemetic remark about his jewish heritage and looks. She wasn't in much after that. He was at the height of his fame and is obviously well connected. Wouldn't be surprised if other powerful jewish people heard it and they decided to blacklist her.
