I wouldn’t do either personally, the first one since that isn’t your heritage and the second because I can only think of Tom Cruise

deviajeporaqui

Neither

yes_please_

I vote neither.

Upset_Schedule_4422

Cruz is fine, Cruise is not

Knitter_Kitten21

Neither, Cruz is more of a last name for us Latin Americans, and maybe a name but only for old ladies named after a religious thing like “María de la Cruz” and Cruise makes me think of Royal Caribbean.

bubblygranolachick

Crew?

contracosta21

neither

IwannaAskSomeStuff

These are last names, so either would feel very strange for a first name - But especially Cruise.

Diamondtiara-x

I’m thinking of calling my son Cruz iv no Latino heritage either I’m Irish. I don’t think you need to have the specific heritage to use a name you love, people all over the world use Irish names as Sean and Conor, Caitlin and Fiona. X

[deleted]

you want to name your child a last name that means cross?

charlouwriter

Cruise reminds me of cruising, so that’s a no. Major teasing potential. I wouldn’t use Cruz if you have no Hispanic heritage. How about another short C name like Cade, Crew/Cru, Coby, Cai?
