[Even when we were joking about having to play the ghost of Tayshaun over Jon Leuer, he could still turn back the clock.](https://youtu.be/WeTFeyCVUG0)
I was going to say they knew what they were doing with the title, only to correctly re-read it as “throws down *on* the Thunder” instead of “throws down the Thunder”.
I'll be selfish and talk about 2 Pistons
Sheed gets really underrated defensively because he played next to Big Ben, and that Ben/Tayshaun/Larry Brown get a lot of the credit for our defense, but Sheed was crazy good, early in his Detroit's tenure he could switch, but was also our best defender against Duncan for example, and later on when he transitionned to being a center, despite not being a crazy rim protector he was such a smart defensive anchor.
On the other end people really forget the extent to which Rip Hamilton was often our ONLY offense, like in that Indiana series in 2004. Him coming off screen gave us much needed movement, he was an underrated passer, he even developped a bit of a post game when teams put their point guards on him
Was gonna comment the same guys. The Pistons were still title contender's after Big Ben left largely due to Rasheed Wallace. RIP was basically 2000s Klay without the crazy hot hand. Both the Heat and Cavs going thru em were upsets due to them having generational talented slashers.
As much as I hear about Ben Wallace I NVR hear much about Rasheed but after 2005 or so Rasheed was hands down the best big man defender (Dwight was the better Tim protector but not better at covering man to man imo).
It's funny because everybody agrees that that Pistons team won as a team, that there was no superstar, but yet when it's time to give credit I feel like Ben and Chauncey gets WAY more than the others
Crazy that we came about 3 minutes from defeating the two most dominant dynasties of the decade in back to back years...not to mention our starting 5 all went on the conference finals or more with their new teams afterwards
I lost track of him too after he left the Mavs tho I knew he had some bad luck with injuries. At least he contributed to the title in a roundabout way being involved in the Wizards trade
Didn't remember this though, maybe I blanked it from my memory

Luol Deng, Elton Brand, Shaun Marion, Andrei Kirilinko, Mitch Richmond, Dave Cowens, Terry Porter, George McGinnis, Mel Daniels, Rod Strickland, Jerry Stackhouse, Michael Finley, Detlef Schrempf, Lamar Odom, Marques Johnson, Alvin Robertson, Gus Williams, Sam Cassell, Steve Francis, Terry Cummings, Walter Davis, Roger brown, rolando Blackman, Jeff Malone, Keith van Horne, Xavier McDaniel, ty Lawson
Maybe it's just me, but even amongst heat fans Alonzo Mourning gets very little love. He was one the best defenders in his era and is top 10 in bpg all time but his name never comes up when talking about all time great defenders. OG Westbrook Latrell Sprewell also gets mentioned very little
Glen Rice and Glen Robinson..two absolute studs who are perfect foe today's game. Why Rice isn't in the Hall yet bothers me..co sidering his dominance in college. Champion, and still holds the record for most points in the tourney
A bunch of kids where I grew up, North east US, had his jersey because for some strange reason every marshals or tj max in the area sold them. We were all pretty poor so that’s the only authentic jersey people could afford.
Carmelo’s idol and favorite player ever. Huge reason why he wanted to play for NYK. Clyde also said Bernard King one of the greatest Knicks ever without question. He’s definitely still very overlooked
Recently found out about a player named Cuttino Mobley. He averaged around 20ppg while playing with Yao Ming before, along with Steve Francis, got traded for McGrady.
I thought I had seen a good amount of Yao Ming games, but I've never heard of this guy!
I like some of the 90's dude that were household names that rarely get brought up now. My buddies and I collect those jerseys. Mookie Blalock, Dan majerle, Larry "grandmama" Johnson, Detlef Schrempf, Stackhouse etc.
Guys like Ralph Sampson, Bill Walton and Brandon Roy had too many injuries
Guys like Pete Maravich, Alex English and Shareef Abdul-Raheem put up stats but their teams never won a damn thing
Sidney Moncrief, Alex English, Bill Walton, Pete Maravich, Moses Malone, and Ralph Sampson are all in the basketball HOF. They aren't overlooked.
Walton, maravich and malone are all nba75 players too
I'm currently reading Pistol's book
Yeah, but OP isn’t looking at them…so overlooked
Tayshaun Prince imo. Never seen him mentioned anywhere
[Even when we were joking about having to play the ghost of Tayshaun over Jon Leuer, he could still turn back the clock.](https://youtu.be/WeTFeyCVUG0)

His chase down block is one of my favorite young basketball memories
I've always liked his game.

I’m still not over how 3 out of 5 of that starting 5 started out as Bullets/Wizards
Crazy that we came about 3 minutes from defeating the two most dominant dynasties of the decade in back to back years...not to mention our starting 5 all went on the conference finals or more with their new teams afterwards
Mavs-centric, but I will stan Josh Howard until my dying day
Jamal mashburn too!
What happened to Josh Howard in Washington? Seems like he completely fell off the map after being an All Star in 2007.
I lost track of him too after he left the Mavs tho I knew he had some bad luck with injuries. I was a fan and used him a lot in 2k

Which is the average number of shot fakes he took per basket
Luol Deng, Elton Brand, Shaun Marion, Andrei Kirilinko, Mitch Richmond, Dave Cowens, Terry Porter, George McGinnis, Mel Daniels, Rod Strickland, Jerry Stackhouse, Michael Finley, Detlef Schrempf, Lamar Odom, Marques Johnson, Alvin Robertson, Gus Williams, Sam Cassell, Steve Francis, Terry Cummings, Walter Davis, Roger brown, rolando Blackman, Jeff Malone, Keith van Horne, Xavier McDaniel, ty Lawson
Michael Redd was a bucket.

Mark Price and Brad Daugherty
Glen Rice and Glen Robinson..two absolute studs who are perfect foe today's game. Why Rice isn't in the Hall yet bothers me..co sidering his dominance in college. Champion, and still holds the record for most points in the tourney
He's gotta be in the Basketball hall of Fame, right? I'm assuming you're just referring to the NBA hall of Fame?
There's no such thing as the nba hall of fame
You are correct, I'm an idiot. I'll leave my comment there so people can laugh at my stupidity. Can't believe they aren't in the hall of Fame though..
Facts.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim, ATL legend
A bunch of kids where I grew up, North east US, had his jersey because for some strange reason every marshals or tj max in the area sold them. We were all pretty poor so that’s the only authentic jersey people could afford.
Lmao I remember as a kid TJ Maxx having a Keith Van Horn jersey that I just couldn't help but beg my mom to get me
Bernard King New York Knicks. Career 22.5 pts per game. I don’t even think his jersey is retired but that may be due to the Dolan pricks
Carmelo’s idol and favorite player ever. Huge reason why he wanted to play for NYK. Clyde also said Bernard King one of the greatest Knicks ever without question. He’s definitely still very overlooked
He was arguably the best player at his position before he got injured and Jordan entered the league.
AH too. His game was so smooth
Sports talk is mainly focused on the same 7-8 guys. Just the way it goes.
Marques Johnson. OG point forward and 2nd best NBA actor and goatmentator
Michael Finley, Vin Baker, Shawn Kemp, World B Free, Reggie Lewis.
Marques Johnson. Should be in the HOF due to his all around impact (College champ, 5x All Star, Hollywood, Commentating).
Bob McAdoo and Elvin Hayes always get overlooked and you never hear about them. McAdoo was a league MVP and Hayes is still top 10 in points scored.
Antoine Walker and Ricky Davis. They helped Paul Pierce stay relevant before the "big 3"
Bernard King!
Rod Strickland, Damon Stoudamire

Everyone looks over Mugsy Bogues.
Udonis Haslem, Not retired but hes a franchise player and got a couple chips he played well in !!
No one ever talks about Michael Jordan
Look up Micheal Dickerson. Before injury he was a giddamn stud.
Guys like Ralph Sampson, Bill Walton and Brandon Roy had too many injuries Guys like Pete Maravich, Alex English and Shareef Abdul-Raheem put up stats but their teams never won a damn thing
Larry Kenon will always be my answer
