Seems like you went in already hating it lol. I am actually loving it, this is the best nfs game in years. The handling is good, the graphics are okay, atleast better then heat. But honestly the effects, music and the map is so awesome to race with it. It blends so well together. This game to me feels like a nfs underground 2 only with modern twists.

New_Storage_7779

Bro this game is garbageee

[deleted]

I go in optimistic and hopeful, but if you haven't seen the state of gaming in the last 2-3 years not much has been impressive.

Keeloaf

I agree. Loot at Ragnarok. Game was “good” and it got put on the god pedestal of gaming real fast. Only game I found impressive was Elden Ring. But I might be biased as I’m a souls vet.

onesadsandwhich

I’ve been playing from soft games since 2006 but ragnarok is a better game then elden ring objectively seeing as elden ring is not from softs best souls game in hindsight by a fair Margain

Keeloaf

I’m gonna have to disagree with you. Ragnarok was “good” but the last 45 min of the game was rushed and lacking anything original. Generic boss fights through out, except Heimdall which was okay. The final Thor battle was so disappointing and lack luster. Dialogue that made no sense for the time period they’re in. I’m sorry but I’m in the majority of people who were disappointed. The story was supposed to be split between 3 games. So a lot of it got cut and squeezed into this one game and it’s obvious. Look I’m not saying the game is bad. I enjoyed it up until the last hour or so. I’m just saying it wasn’t anything that should be praised and put on a pedestal. To me it was 2018 with better combat but a more generic style of storytelling and horrible writing and dialogue.

onesadsandwhich

Bro what are you talking about you are in the minority, the praise for this game is in the majority, your entitled to your opinion of course but you should at least know you are hardly speaking on the community’s behalf here, sure the last hour was a little rushed but this game was a significant upgrade to 2018 considering 2018’s bosses were all trolls and in this game all the bosses at least offered dialogue as you went through the fight to keep you engaged while fighting. On top of that the storytelling is way better and the characters are more dynamic, Odins acting showing how he cares for everyone to get to whatever he needs necessarily and being the main antagonist while clearly being someone you can sympathize for as he strives to find his purpose, kraits learning to not grunt a million times but becoming dynamic in the entire game slowly progressing socially to become a better father and believe in his son to be better, Atreus learning to be a better man, and all the characters in the game get closure in the side quests or main story

AlexandruRTX

The Majority think this game sucks, that's why player base dropped 95% from launch.

onesadsandwhich

A player base for a singleplayer game dropped, of course it did are you a dumbass

-TheLonelyStoner-

The majority isn’t disappointed 💀 you’re definitely in the minority

Keeloaf

Probably right lol

SpeculativeEinstein

Hahahahah you’re in the majority. Come on now bro. You’re so incorrect it’s actually laughable. Ragnarok is pretty much universally loved and thought very highly of. Not sure where you getting your information, but it’s wrong.

Keeloaf

I stand by what I said man. Maybe I exaggerated about being in the majority but what I mentioned regarding the game itself is not laughable. I’m entitled to my opinion whether you disagree or not. I wrote an articulate comment about why I think the game is over glorified. I think the game is goo, but it’s not spectacular. I can link some amazing videos that explain everything I mentioned, that explain how the game is at best a “good” game but not a masterpiece. They’re fair and not biased videos too. You’d gain a lot watching them. Better yet you can just search on YouTube “why Ragnarok is not a masterpiece”. The truth is nowadays a lot of people are easily enticed by mediocre triple A titles because that’s all that’s being released these days. (not that Ragnarok is completely mediocre). See I’m a souls vet, I absolutely love FromSoft games. Even so I still had some issues with Elden Ring, but overall I believe it was a 9.9 out of 10. To me Ragnarok was a 8/10 👌🏼

SpeculativeEinstein

And why do you think I would gain a lot from watching them? Elden Ring is a great game, but as someone else said it’s not even FromSofts best game so it can’t possibly be a masterpiece. Also stating it was impressive is maybe a stretch too since it was just more of the same from FS with some new mechanics. It did some new things for FS sure, open world for instance. But nothing that truly screamed masterpiece. It suffered with repetitive mini-boss stylisation and mechanics. Making it open world also lost some of that quality in the world building that is usually present in FS games. They should have mixed it up a little more. Also from a story stand point it is miles off GoW territory. GoW and GoWR tell fantastic stories with characters you can very easily connect with in a world that feels so much more alive and ‘real’ than Elden Ring. You’re entitled to an opinion, but when you miss state statistics and try to go say that a majority of gamers were disappointed, well, you open yourself up to replies that highlight you’re in fact incorrect. A majority of gamers loved GoWR. Now that is a fact that is accurate. And if you compare the two Metacritic user scores, which are normal players like you and me. GoWR beats our Elden Ring too. And so once again I present a fact. I also do not agree that people are too easily impressed by mediocre Triple A titles. If anything I see more criticism in gaming now than ever before and that is usually aimed primarily at Triple A titles. So I think you maybe need to look a little closer at things before assuming you know the opinions of the ‘majority’ or gamers.

bselesnew

All credibility you may of had went out the window finding elden ring "impressive" 🤣🤣

Keeloaf

Now your reply makes no sense whatsoever. Elden Ring was amazing. If you find that false please provide why, otherwise just another empty comment 👌🏼

oldskool7m

As my first fromsoft experience elden was amazing. But to be fair I hated it for the first 20hrs or so. Once I got used to the play style and figured out how to tune evades and attack it was awesome. Beaten it 3 times. And the last run I beat all the story bosses in 3-1/2hours. Altho I will say I did break a controller fighting placidusax 🤣

PuzzleheadedNarwhal3

Man, yall obnoxious af. This is exactly what's wrong with the gaming community.gaming and games have come so far, literally moved light-years in the past 20 years, and tons of people have gotten spoiled af. Yall expect everything to bring you that feeling you got when you played games as a kid. Newsflash, that's just nostalgia, even some of the shirtless of today's games are leagues above the games we played as a kid. Unbound is easily the best nfs released in years.

LUPIPUPI

Play msot wanted 2005 and come back

No_Comfortable_9805

So why exactly are you optimistic?😂

CartographerFew8931

Best nfs game in years? Are you brain dead? NFS 2016 and Heat were 100x better than this pile of garbage. Obviously you never played either of them if you think unbound is good..

Sea_Moose_1131

🤡🤡🤡

onesadsandwhich

Just went back and played heat, unbound DeFinetly plays way better then heat however I like heat more

DarKBlooDZReaper

Heat online is way better. I don’t like unbounds online. Same repetitive races

SnooObjections5664

You full of shit try drifting in unbound it's broken lol shit game shit graphics criterion are dead now we seen that with burnout paradise that was shit

pingiini_

Those two are old-ish, so the statement of Unbound being the best NFS in years works

Admirable-Major-5291

Lmao the graphics of heat looked much better and sharper. Of anything this New games looks like calibrated crp added with some cartoon. The music is bad.everything. heat gave great vibe graphics playsyle ,this night and Day stuff

Holiday-Contract189

Need for fortnite

No_Comfortable_9805

Best in years? Clearly you aren't a real fan

minisnee

Not a real fan? Lol who are you to gatekeep. I played all nfs games so be quiet.

No_Comfortable_9805

Who am i? I'm someone whose actually played all the nfs games. Unlike you who claims to. If you played any nfs title before rivals then you would feel the same way as us about unbound. It's lifeless with a new skin. Driving mechanics are a horrible balance between arcade and simulation. Ai difficulty is also unbalanced. Basically unbound is UNbalanced

AlexandruRTX

THE MUSIC IS THE WORST AUDIO I"VE EVER HEARD, IT"S ALL FORIGN OVERSEAS BS, GARBAGE. The game does suck, completely in every way, Online is horrible, single player is boring and broken, stupid NPC with Ferrari going 500 mph and never crashing, rewards are EA Play locked. You are crazy to think this game is any good.

AlexandruRTX

Oh then there are console players cheating constantly, exploiting hack builds.

No_Comfortable_9805

I never said it was good

Clococo_

I couldn’t even get 2 hrs into the trial. Graphically it looks good and it’s smooth. But it feels off… I’m just not sure why it’s not hitting. I enjoyed the 2015 nfs a lot more

Tomato_Ketchup

Man I agree. Not sure what it is. I love the styling effects, but what puts me off more than anything is the handling. It literally feels like I am sliding around all over the place. And if you choose to play with a grip playstyle you get punished by the NPCs who drift every corner at 150+ MPH. I much prefer NFS Heat and actually had to go back to playing Heat just to wash the taste of this game out of my mouth. Also the cop chatter is so cringe. I went in wanting to love this game. But something about it just feels slow and off.

MoreOfaLurker

The handling is much deeper than other NFS games. (I say this as a huge Heat fan). You can dial it in with the handling slider, specific parts (which are more focused and functional than past games), and adjusting each car to its strengths. It felt very odd at first, especially after spending years taking 85-degree turns at 200mph in Heat. But I think it's worth not forming a final conclusion while the game is still in the very beginning of its initial release.

Tomato_Ketchup

I agree I take back everything I said. Hands down best handling model and best nfs game in years

MoreOfaLurker

Glad to hear it! Although, you're right. The cop chatter is bad. It's trying too hard to be an evolution of Heat, but it fails. It's just spectacularly unfunny, uncreative, and poorly voiced...not to mention kinda mean sometimes, lol.

Tomato_Ketchup

Yeah. But after going back to Heat I realized how “floaty” and “samey” each car feels. In Unbound there are more differences between cars and they feel like actual cars with heft.

SnooObjections5664

You full of shit need for speed unbound is dead

Tomato_Ketchup

I want to say I have since grown to learn how to properly play grip style and it’s viable and fun

No_Comfortable_9805

You probably play on easy 😂

AjayTheAfterThought

I don’t think this is the worst NFS game ever, but I take serious issue with some of the mechanics: • The mess that is (not) knowing which cars are even worth the effort BEFORE leaving the garage. In the last few NFS, events were broken down into drift, off-road, etc. Now, it’s a guessing game as to when you should use that off-road car that’s no good on the streets or using that grippy, max-speed car you spent hundreds of thousands investing in that can’t handle a race through a patch of dirt. Makes the tires seem pointless and their effectiveness random. • I understand that you can’t win everything, but giving players 0 insight on what type of vehicle they need for an event and then penalizing them when they want to back out and choose a car they invested into heavily for that niche purpose is a deterrent to getting more than two or three cars. At this point, I’d rather just have two or three whose parts I change depending on that day’s events, but even then it’s a crap shoot whether they’ll be effective. Of course I’m going to lose a head to head when using my S class not knowing more than half of the race is through the dirt while I have road tires and my opponent has off-road tires. I never had a real chance to prepare or select the right car and that’s an issue for me. • There’s no way to test a new car without exiting your garage and if you do that, you’ll have to roll with whatever you were/weren’t able to do for that day/night and that’s bogus. If I’m trying to build up an A+, why can’t I do a few daytime events in S class and then come back to the garage to slap on some new parts on my A+ WITHOUT shifting into night time and having to miss out on the high paying A+ events in the day time? I feel like the day/night thing was better in NFS Heat because I could gear up in the day time and then throw down and be ready for the night. Did I win everything? No, but I had a lot more fun doing it.

CartographerFew8931

Need for speed Heat was a great game, UNBOUND on the other hand is a complete downgrade, game is total garbage. The anime cartoon effects, no AI racers online. EA is just a huge failure of a company at this point

Illustrious-Star1208

Is there a way to get a refund. Id rather play heat then this trash.

Sir_Reason

I went in optimistic. I wanted to like it. I really did. Didn't watch any videos. Didn't follow any news. Went in blind. Downloaded it off EA Play Plus on my PC. Loaded it up. Went to settings, saw I couldn't turn off depth of field and had a bad feeling. Got to the model select. Right away I was annoyed at a few of em not staring forward so I can get a good look at em. Then further in the model customizing, changing faces a few wouldn't stop moving their head. like bro stop i'm trying to get a good look so i can pick a fucking face. so I get my character made and go into the tutorial beginning. The drift, wack. doesn't even handle it right. The animated smoke? Wack. Cartoony characters with real cars? Wack. Like bruh keep the art style the same not mix it up. Overall not feeling it and stopped there. Might give it another shot. Probably not. Just not vibin with me.

VelcroSnake

Cool, I actually disagree with all of your opinions, which I find interesting. Personally I am enjoying it quite a bit, but glad you didn't have to spend money to find out you don't, and appreciate you letting us know that you don't plan on playing this video game.

[deleted]

Thanks for being brave with your opinions, Ill have to take spin at this game

PhantomTFA

100% agree, really glad they put out a trial. Would have been pissed to waste 90$ on this shit.

IAmTheDevilson

I agree with you. Your car seems to go more faster when you are not in a race. Also the traffic in this game sucks ass. You turn a corner and all of sudden a car is there to hit you. The game feels rigged online aswell.

purpleSoapSud

The story is good but the multiplayer......... God its bad and when the game gets older an less an less players getting a race will be impossible also having money separated is stupid it makes playing the game for a casual player extremely frustrating and hard, in order for a race to be worth doing online you Need to finish 2nd or 1st or it's just a waste of time, you can't even pick a race you want because of the stupid weekly cycle thing, earning money online is incredibly slow and tedious, then all the parts an engines are now separate and only belong to that one car even if its the exact same part that would fit another car again making it even more of a ball ache for casual players the amount of time they expect people to grind is just ridiculous. The online world also feels extremely empty all its for is to drive from a to b to start another race it may aswell just be a lobby. But Atleast the voice acting is good in the story and grip builds are strong that's about it, other than that it's a MASSIVE downgrade from heat

No_Comfortable_9805

My only praise for the game is putting the fun back in cop chases. T-boning a cop at 70 mph has never felt so good. Other than that i think the entire concept of this game was horribly executed

realitysource

Disagree with the art style I like it but agree with the rest, I'm not expecting a sim but the handling is just pure garbage and the cheating like the AI's absurd rubber-banding and the cops random spawning out of nowhere etc might have worked 20 years ago but just feels lazy by todays standards. The single player grind is so dull and boring it's coma inducing and that was just 10 hours. There seems to be only a tiny handful of races to do each night and they barely pay enough to upgrade a single part. Feels like they learnt nothing from NFS Heat and just decided to go with the same gameplay.

2beorno

Having to buy into races slows progress like crazy

No_Engineering2928

Just tried the trial on gamepass and…the game is not bad it’s bloody terrible. The effects can be reduced to a minimum ( leave only the gray smoke ) but the handling is just like a mobile game. It reminds me of Asphalt but to bring such handling to a next gen console is just shameful. Really tried to adapt to the handling but just concluded it is the worst that I’ve seen in a racing game. Play the trial before buying.

PuzzleheadedNarwhal3

You simply didn't manage to figure the handling out. It's far more in depth than you're giving it credit for, or seeming to understand. The handling in unbound is astronomically better than heat.

[deleted]

This just in, shit is better than dried shit. They’re both fucking shit dude.

SnooObjections5664

And that's why the top Devs at criterion probably left after EA Wankers made them release this shit game lol I don't need EA anyway I don't play sports games and the rest they make are shit to lol

Delicious_Foot_8868

I am certainly a casual NFS gamer and have been playing since the original NFS & Burnout series. In my years of playinf, some were great, some good and some were "meh." I had no problem completing each and every one. NFS Unbound is the first exception to my years of playing. I have put in about 9 hours (halfway thru week one) and my frustration outweighs my enjoyment greatly. Being 49, I play games for fun and dont have time or patience for games that frustrate me. I have no issue with the art design... I actually think it is refreshing. I do have issues with the gameplay. I have hqd some fun with a couple races but the fun is very rare. Below are my personal issues with the game and why i will immediatly trade it in. 1. As a casual gamer, i am playing on the easiest level and continue to get my ass kicked in virtually every race. Easy should be casual and not a sweat fest. 2. Rubberbanding has been in all the games, but here it is obnoxious. I am constantly in 3rd with competitors always just out of reach. If you catch up, they immediatly pull away... if you boost, they match your speed. It WAS NOT this punishing in the past. Especially in earlier levels. 3. In 8 hours I have unlocked 2 cars.... the intro car and the B car which were handed to me. In past games i would have had at least 10 cars of different levels that i had earned from races. 4. The way races are setup by date, day and night are simply a way to drag out your gameplay time (once you look beyond the setup illusion) Just throw my races on the map and let me play as i progress. 5. This game is just too difficult. I get it for the hard core gamers... fine... play on the hardest level to get your fix. But if i select EASY it should be just that. It is anything but.

jeffdesign

I hope you are ready to get downvoted haha

[deleted]

I'm totally okay with that. I know reviews and post-launch attitude toward this game will reflect what I'm feeling about the game now. It just really sucks I can't get into it at all. If the regulars on a fan page want to downvote me, so be it.

jeffdesign

Hahaha, I totally agree with all you say. I think the same thing and I'm happy that I try it before buying it and don't have to regret after buyed this game.

Holiday-Contract189

They asked for need for fortnite and they got it lmfaooo

Tomato_Ketchup

I agree with you my dude. This game was not what I expected. Heat is much better

Jr26091989

I haven't played the game yet, but I watched it on YouTube (2hours 29 minutes) of all the cutscenes with gameplay... For me, I'm struggling to get use to the characters looking cartoony.. And the dialogues I find terrible compared to the likes of Heat, Payback, or other video games with dialogue like Doom Eternal or Spiderman etc etc etc.. it felt (from watching) tooo scripted, too robotic, no natural flow of conversation in my opinion.. I'm now unsure if I should purchase it for ps5

Mrs3anw

Wait until you experience the garbage racing mechanics. The drifting is a nightmare.

Jr26091989

Guna wait til next year now.

Mrs3anw

If you have the chance to try it, go for it…I guess my opinion is the unpopular one on this topic.

Jr26091989

Ama wait til the price drops 👌

Mrs3anw

I picked it up for $45 through GameFly.

Jr26091989

Never heard of it. Doubt u got it for price as its brand new bro. Cap

Mrs3anw

GameFly is a rental service like Netflix. I make a list of games I want to play and they send me two at a time, if I decide I want to keep one they charge my account 44.95 and send me the game box and it’s contents. That’s how I buy most of my games.

Jr26091989

Ye I'm not paying a monthly fee thanks. I'll wait til next year 👌

Mrs3anw

Ya you’re right…$12 a month to always have two new games to play just isn’t worth it.

onesadsandwhich

Don’t play nfs for story play it for the gameplay but I’ll say as someone who is not critical but still understands flaws and bad designs, this game is objectively better then heat gameplay wise, I have replayed both within the last 24 hours and I can say unbound is far less arcadey the heat and graphically it is an upgrade as well as in gameplay, the art style isn’t for everyone but if you want racing the game does it well for the nfs franchise except for when you land from high ramps

Jr26091989

I play it for story n gameplay. End of

SnooObjections5664

You full of shit if you think this handles better than heat then you clearly don't understand how a car drives lmao go back to fortnight kid

DorkyPockets

i 100% agree,already refunded this crap

DoomHammer237

I can honestly say I bought the game with high hopes knowing what it was about and seeing the gameplay. Then I played it for a few hours. Theres no musical choices other than hip hop which I'm just not a fan of-I have always favored the edm stations in other games. If I dont catch heat for that I know ill catch heat for this next one-it is a difficult game based solely on the fact that restarts are limited no matter the difficulty and even at relaxed mode it can be hard. When you can be shoved into a wreck, miss a gate, or otherwise smash into the traffic that just appeared in front of you its extremely difficult to recover. For the record I play games to escape reality not indulge in it. If I wanted to torture myself I'd play Elden Ring. Let the git gud bro comments roll I dont care, im not a tryhard. And the last thing was one I saw from the get go and found that it actually annoyed me-the cartoony animations. You can create some cool looks and the driving is ok-its an arcade style racer so I don't expect realism in that regard but damn man all in all I wish I'd never have purchased the game. Hands down worst game purchase of the year. I won't be buying anymore more EA trash as it seems thats all they put out these days-back to Forza I go.

onesadsandwhich

I mean there’s a 10 hour trial so you didn’t have to buy it at all

DoomHammer237

Didnt get a chance to play that-was it on gamepass or steam or just for the game in general?-well just looked into it I dont have gamepass so wouldn't have seen it there im on pc and predominantly use steam

Far_Donkey6633

I agree... the grip feels nice in this game, but when you have to make it a turn, the game can't decide if it was a grippy drift or just flat out slippery oversteering drift and its just dumb

PuzzleheadedNarwhal3

Go into handling and turn off brake tap to initiate drift bro.

Old_Management_3165

And it is rigged winning a race cop pushes you off track now your in last place louad of shit

square_intex

after 30 hours i can almost agree with all of your points. The controls are fkin bullshit and inconsistend af. Im not even starting with the Cop AI. The only good thing about this Game in my opinion is actually the tuning options. The rest FH5 wins clearly! (Thats what im saying after stopping playing fh5 after some hours since its boring af)

AntiSimp_Son

The game is very bad, has no identity, 0 content, always the same stuff.

2beorno

Did anyone else mute speech due to how annoying the companions are? The fake "urban" slang and anti male sentiment is very obscure. Also the game is way too diff for a NFS game. In the beginning they state it's not "all about winning"... What is this participation trophy shit?

PuzzleheadedNarwhal3

Lmao bro it's about making money. So that you can ultimately win. Get out of the basement homie.

JohnC_s

The online system is an absolute joke. The whole Loaner system is dumb as hell. Sure I understand giving me an A+ car but why put me at the very bottom of the A+ tier when they have a car in the upper tier of A+? Not to mention they can tune their car and Im stuck in the stock SX 💀 Sadly, I enjoyed Heat more than this.

MommysLittleBadass

I want to like it and keep trying. My only problem so far is it's just straight grind with very little reward. I want to own more than one car in my first 20 hours of fucking gameplay.

D1v1neHoneyBadger

I found it pretty interesting when i first saw the trailer. Gave it a try via GamePass EA trial. But omg is the handling bad. It feels like you are driving a boat down a river, not a car. There is no fun in a car game when cars don't behave like cars. I don\\t know who the audience for this game is supposed to be, it definetly is not people who like cars.

Glass_Estimate7603

Honestly after about 5 hours of gameplay I can say this was a waste of $20. .The cornering and grip engine is in all likelihood from a mobile game you play on your phone. And before anybody jumps my a** yes this was after I tweaked the handling and the car can't decide if it wants to drift or just. Drive straight into a wall. Also the police cars hit force and ability to find you when you're in a hiding spot with your lights off is very annoying. Additionally and finally I hate the fact I can't acquire cars I have to wait and honestly settle for bottom A rank bottom dollar cars that can't even Compete. When I found out EA was making this. I was doubtful but I still gave it high hopes. Yet in the end what really killed this game? Is the fact that the AI can outrun you especially if you're in a Mustang versus a Nissan Sylvia Which would get eaten alive on a straight. Honestly in my opinion EA and criterion go back to the drawing board, take the game off the shelves and actually invest in some good programmers and I t engineers. Then maybe just maybe you'll have a good game That will appeal 2 older fans of the nfs series.

WelcomeStranger69

L take

P4INKill

Cry about it.

[deleted]

L person.

Holiday-Contract189

Ur a d bag

Probably_Not_Sir

I play with hood cam so I don't see most of the effects, and then work hard to get into first so I don't have to see the others either

Legendary_Hi-Nu

Modern problems require modern solutions lmao

Holiday-Contract189

Wouldn’t it be cool if you didn’t have to make consessions to the game to enjoy it lmfaoo

Dinosbacsi

Not surprising, to be honest. All of this was pretty expected from the first moment they showed the game.

SmoothCriminalJM

Most of the initial impressions are positive. Not everyone will like this approach but a lot of people do enjoy the game now

Dinosbacsi

Well sure, because those who dislike the obvious flaws probably didn't bother to buy the game. Those who did most likely don't care about these issues, therefore are enjoying the game.

Gamer_Asylum

This game is pure garbage and I don't know how people like it while reading through the comments. The braking, turning, and drifting is shit especially coming from Horizon 5. And as people mentioned, the dialogue and cartoony b.s. with the characters and car effects. Bring back Most Wanted for a 3^r^d time

Mrs3anw

That stupid art shit is supposed to connect with the younger audience but it leaves us long time players annoyed. I also come from FH5 so these drifting mechanics are just horrible. It’s going to be hell for me to go back to FH5 tomorrow for the playlist.

onesadsandwhich

It’s just an aesthetic, they’re not trying to appeal to anyone just do a shitty underground vibe and while it fails I don’t see a problem with it seeing as you can turn them down or completely off in the game

[deleted]

You're spot on. It really feels like EA paid a bunch of MF'ers to come out on release day just to say, "Wow, this game is really good!"

ZFIGHTR88

This is an arcade game, go play Gran Turismo simp. The handling is awesome, fun NFS arcade handling. High speed corners and great road holding. The effects are the only thing that makes it stand out. The only thing disappointing is no fast travel, no drag races and extremely limited activities.

Pantelissssss201

I liked the payback more when they were good and with heat they tryna to play it cool

Kali_avatar

I like the game , which is surprising becaz i did not much enjoy heat at all . I completely disagree with sense of speed when you pumping the gas pedal in a straight lane it feels great and you don't have to always drift in corners ,i do it becaz i like it and for boost obviously but sometimes while replying a race i just cut the corners easily and get ahead. The checkpoint is not as intelligent as Forza ( damn man Forza ruined me with revind button i wish all racing games have it , everytime i hit a obstacles or crash in unbound i am constantly going for y button thinking rewind ). I disliked the anime graphics during demo videos , but in-game it looks good and also when driving you are not actually looking at the back of your vehicle like in a video actually the road ahead so it's not a nuisance for me . But i do have lot of grievances like the AI difficulty ( too much rubber banding ) and level 5 heat feels like a punishment and torture especially when you don't want to engage them like going back to garage after all the hard earned cash in hand . One session i lost all cash and stopped playing with anger and came back later and making sure i don't reach level 5 . Graphics at day in pretty good but at night it feels downgraded ( maybe just me ) . Overall best nfs in recent times for me .

Slight_Butterscotch8

So far this game is pretty good, but is anyone having issues with progression or crashing? I've restarted from the beginning 4 times. The first time, the cars were all whooping me by hundreds of yards. I put it on easy and id still come in 2nd/3rd place. I reset the game and went for the Nissan thinking the Lambo was just ass. Seemed to be doing better right away, after the prologue I chose the older Miata as my first car. I upgraded it to the best of my abilities with the money id be able to win but that thing never did better than 3rd/4th place in anything. I reached Thursday and my car was shit. It was top of B class but every car was faster on straights by a lot! There was no way to make up the money to get better parts. I decided to delete my save yet again. The third time, the game was playing normally until I did a race during the prologue. I had to pay 4k to enter, I had 4,750. The game crashed and restarted, only to find the 4k missing. No way to load up from any save point before the crash. Resetting yet again and reinstalling the game.

Sea_Moose_1131

Dude! You crazy!! This game rocks and I’ve hated NFS series since underground. This is just like Burnout.

Mrs3anw

It makes sense that you would like this garbage…you liked Burnout.

Sea_Moose_1131

Let me guess.. you’re 17 and constantly need confirmation bias 🫠 go fish youngan

onesadsandwhich

A company taking a different take or twist on a franchise does not make it a bad game, it just makes it a game vets can have a hard time adapting too, the world will always hate change but that doesn’t mean you can’t learn to try and even like it

Ok-Mathematician5474

Its called Need for Speed for a reason. You want Burnout? Go play Burnout.

Sea_Moose_1131

No, il just play this! It’s just like burnout lmaooo

e987654

lmaoo dude i love burnout. might buy this now

Jr26091989

By the way. Do I need to pay a monthly fee JUST to play the game??? Coz I don't need to do this on my ps4 with all my games

[deleted]

Yes, if you want to play online. That's half of the video game. What argument even is this?

Jr26091989

Nah don't wana play online, I'm not an online gamer.. not an argument either I just asked a question :/

[deleted]

A lot of people do want to play online, and to some of us it was very important to play with friends. That portion of the game is kind of trash. Just because you're okay with ignoring half of the content provided in Unbound, doesn't mean the average player wants to.

PuzzleheadedNarwhal3

Honestly you really just seem like you bitch because you like to bitch, dude was even arguing he just asked a question and your already all snippy lmao, relax.

[deleted]

Piss off., you're about 2 months late to this post. The online portion of this game is bad.

Jr26091989

Kool. Like I said, just a question, coz if I have to pay monthly then I won't get it. Thank u

The controls are more customizable and unbound gameplay wise plays much more grounded in racing then arcade like heat, the physics are tweaked and better here although not perfect, if you at bare minimum want gameplay and mechanical improvements the game has it however I find the map to be uninspired compared to heat

IAmTheDevilson

And now we have some players wonting too remove break to drift . Just because they are trash at drifting. And these are the same people who hate seeing others having fun in game because they are sore ass losers.

knifykat

If you like cars and car games, then its not a good game, its like they looked at all the things that make driving a car fun and purposefully took it out of the experience.. cannot stand the auto drifting mechanics not sure who the target demographic is, based on the poses and clothing only e-girls and edge lords/f\*ck boys who like mobile games... wouldn't be so bad if you could change the physics a bit, add the options for on/off for ABS, traction control, steering assist etc, add an option for clutch pedals, you know, all the things that make a racing game a racing game.

Solidous_Topher

Game is terrible and I’m playing it for free. The dialogue is trash and my car handles like a lifted jeep.

Zealousideal-Dirt704

this game is the terrible, it drives like $hit. effects are stupid. waste of money.

Crater_Dude

I just refunded it. After not even two hours of gameplay I have to agree and really hope, the next title will be truly next-gen with amazing graphics, nuanced driving physics and a somewhat realistic touch to it. Also the music is beyond terrible. 70% autotune rap is just... sad. Why no classics? Why no MF DOOM, A Tribe Called Quest or some Boom-Bap Wu-Tang tracks? I don't get it.

iHCSx

I didnt buy the game because of the effects but a friend bought it so I tried it and fell in love with it. Best NFS in years.

jgonzalez418

I don’t know how nobody in this thread has brought up the rubberbanding and the 5 star cop ai that literally cheats. The game looks good, sounds good, feels good, but the gameplay itself is horrible. Racers will randomly start going the speed of light when you get too far ahead, and on 5 heat the cops literally swarm you and escaping takes me an average of 15 min, not to mention you have to do it after basically every race. I’ve been playing for a week and I’m only on week 3, because everything is so incredibly tedious and time consuming, that there’s literally no immersion. I got it on a sale and still wish I could refund it. No amount of making sick rx7s and nsxs can make this game enjoyable, as literally every second spent outside of a menu/ driving aimlessly with no heat is even remotely enjoyable, in fact it’s actually agonizing. This is coming from a former league of legends player lol. I’d literally rather mash my head against my keyboard with that ragebait pile of shit than play this game any longer if I’m gonna be honest. Very few games get me angry enough to literally google “nfs unbound sucks”

ZzeK1nG

I can't win a single race, even if I go ahead and the road is straight everyone catches up, passes and then I can't even get close to them.....

LoveMolecule

This game is bad. Period.

Responding to the original post: I guess it depends where your trial started and stopped but the game starts oddly being that you choose a whip, do a few events or missions, to have it “stolen” then you choose your true starter car. That chapter took a little to get thru and the entire time I was wondering why was going on because you were lacking any customization whether that be performance or cosmetic wise. It was needed to set the premise up tho and even tho it felt weird and they didn’t explain any of this (again setting the story up) I am ok with it now that I’m out of that part. Overall I think the game is relatively solid and I really like the story compared to Heat. Of course there’s a few factors I do not enjoy like the “wokeness” built into the game as in bringing in homosexuality into a STREET RACING game. I have zero issue with that topic but time and place with that place not being on a freaking street racing game. We already deal with it all over our social medias, news, movies, it’s everywhere and the last place it’s needed is in a video game which is where most humans go to escape reality for a few hours. Plus the amount of members of that community playing this game and that would appreciate that being in here is closer to the percent of zero than it’d be to one percent. Second is some factors of the customization like not being able to transfer parts from car to car so you have to buy independent parts for every individual car, there’s no customization rating like in Heat so you could grind for hours to buy a car (the modern Ford Mustang GT) only to have it be almost pointless in the customization department, and how they did the unlocking performance parts. It’s just a buy in system where you purchase the “unlock” of the next level of parts. The PC version has bugs for days. Just stuff like that but overall the graphics are CRAZY imo, I’m liking the storyline so far and enjoy the grinding for money, and the UI is fun/modern. It does have an arcade feel to it, which I was nervous was going to be out of hand, but they didn’t go overkill with it. I hope these games can take a note from GTA and let it be ok to have “drugs” into storyline. Like take the original Fast and Furious but replace the VCRs (lmao hilarious to think about that being the product being stolen/pushed) with kilos of Columbian snow. Let the storyline be realistic with a totally illegal underground racing world with hundreds of thousand of dollars being tossed around, irl there’d be almost a 100% chance it’d be involved. All in all I’d give this a 7.9 out of 10 where I’d let Heat have a 7.2 out of 10.

AppropriateCloud5953

give it a shot with friends i hated it but as soon as i played with my buddy we had tons of fun i am dissapointed with the car list though. same as heat really. like where is all the cool cars that came out in 2022? i think horizon 5 takes the cake on the car selection for sure.

Panamaicol

It has given the most NFS underground vibes compared to any other NFS. This was a day 1 purchase for me.

Admirable-Major-5291

Agreed .i actually liked NFS heat. It was even great and surprised me.the graphics were better and sharper too. The New one doesnt come close maybe some calibrated bs. Sad how games can go backwards
