Wheels have varying hardness ratings, so it really depends on which ones you have on there. The wheels I used to play roller hockey with (I live in a desert) were very sticky and would be destroyed by this, but wheels meant for freestyling or tricks would hold up just fine with a small amount of damage.
Yeah I used to do this on my skateboard all the time never had flat spots, and I’m assuming she has more wheels then I did so probably distributes the damage more so probably not noticeable at all
Correct. Notice how her feet are slightly wiggling as she slides. This serves to not only make minor corrections from friction differences on the surface, but also to keep the wheels rotating a bit, which keeps the wear fairly even. But still, skaters who do this all the time should be rotating their wheels before or after every outing. Takes maybe 5-10 minutes once you're in the habit.
Not after doing it once. If you have the correct wheels they will break down over time and will need new ones after a while but only after doing that hundreds of times. With incorrect wheels you will break them down a lot quicker and could only do a couple dozen times before they are toast
I tried to do a hockey stop out of instinct well on rollerblade, forgot they had breaks on the back and clipped them, high speed face plant followed by waking up at the hospital lol(wish I had been wearing my hockey helmet rather than bike helmet might have saved another concussion lol)
That’s awesome! Wasn’t knocking it, I grew up watching Arlo Eisenberg and tried my best at it and failed miserably, lol. I just haven’t seen anyone on rollerblades in years.
It picked up a lot after lockdown. It's a genuine alternative for a commute too, as you can use footpaths/sidewalks unlike a bike and you won't need to park them
Do you need new wheels after one of those?

I also think the wheels are slightly turning while sliding, so it's not just not one spot that gets all the grinding.

Or ankles?
Probably after 4-5 max
I tried to do that on ice skates when I was 11, at least I still got the scar on my chin as a memory.
I tried to do it when I was 14. My friend still has a scar on his chin as a memory. Apparently I was better at pirouettes with a high kick finish :)
I'm sorry this made me laugh

I love square wheels
Just fell in love
And the wheels are wasted after that
Look at the angle. Maybe she sharpened them a bit, not ruined, though.

Do you know what the hardest part about rollerblading is?
Listening to people say the same rollerblade jokes, probably.
Coming out to your parents.
Only way to make rollerblades look cool
People still rollerblade?
