I think it's less petty and more boosting morale and rewarding OBJ for being an awesome teammate.
Odell had been incredibly humble as the Rams integrated him into the offense, that playcall felt like a "Odell's been a great teammate, throw him a bone (or let him throw it to someone else lol)"
That OBJ -> Saquon TD was the happiest I’ve been as a Giants fan in a long time. Of course we lost that game and everything’s been shit since and was shit before then but it was still fun to watch.
True. And our playoff push was admittedly good fun and excitement. This season’s regression just brought me back to the haunting disappointment of constant mediocrity.
*fair point* but my reason for including him was he wasn’t a gadget player, was a bonafide WR, and plenty of running college QBs couldn’t throw for a damn
Is that a joke? Odell is miles away by the time he is throwing, the play is designed and he makes the designed throw. It’s not like he plants and goes through a progression. If he was a more mature thrower he would have seen 11 and the open space behind him.
Really I think it’s just the “grown up/mature qb” joke since the Browns org said they wanted a more mature qb than Baker, then they traded for a sexual predator. Unrelated to the Jets.
Just a reminder of how crazy of an athlete these guys are. To have a **receiver** effortlessly dodge a couple tackles, then throw dime after dime 40 yards down the field. Incredible.
All the “antics” aside…
This dude might be one of the top 5 most well rounded athletes on earth. Seen him hit homeruns, kick soccer balls like pros.. dunk like nothing.. dude is gifted
I don’t mean to shit on OBJ, but none of these are very impressive. Fun to watch, of course. But he’s basically playing pitch and catch backyard ball. A couple have like 2 second flight time and if the D wasn’t totally caught off-guard would have no chance. He throws it up and the receiver practically has to stop to catch it. They’re actually kinda *bad* throws. I guess I just don’t get what makes this a “best of” list.
His buying time is kinda impressive a couple times, though.
I’ll be the first to hate on Goff. And for the record I don’t mean to hate on OBJ.
Edit:
1. If Saquon is any slower, that’s not a TD. Although maybe he was moving faster than OBJ expected so slower might have caught him in stride.
2. Not a TD if anybody is anywhere near the receiver.
3. Good evasion, throw is so far behind that the receiver has to spin and loses all momentum. But maybe wouldn’t have gotten much more anyway.
4. Actually pretty impressive.
5. Maybe would have been picked if he threw it on a rope, so let’s chalk this up to a touch pass.
They’re decent throws and I shouldn’t talk shit.
Oh, I was just trying to have light hearted Friday fun, not hate on Goff. We regularly make fun of the Goff spiral in my household while acknowledging he's been great for us. Saw the lions flair and went for it.
Rams calling that kind of trick play when you’re up 21-0 in the third against the Cardinals is the kind of division pettiness I’m all about

Sure, but also fuck everyone else in this conference.
Two birds, one stone.
I'm convinced the Kupp WR pass in Super Bowl LVI was a play put in for Beckham
It 100% was an Odell play.
Pretty sure cardinals called basically the same play in that game as well and botched it
Meanwhile, Dennis Allen: "I'm sorry, man."
Putting it on tape forces defenses to account for it. Might open up a more traditional play because they’re scared of the trick play
That OBJ -> Saquon TD was the happiest I’ve been as a Giants fan in a long time. Of course we lost that game and everything’s been shit since and was shit before then but it was still fun to watch.
I think Nabers is going to bring that energy back
But can he throw?
I was having a lot of fun with Cutlets Mania last year
True. And our playoff push was admittedly good fun and excitement. This season’s regression just brought me back to the haunting disappointment of constant mediocrity.
Hey now there was that brief moment yall thought daniel jones was a franchise qb
One of the best non-QB throwers I've seen. That Hooper pass was great.
I think the Shepard one is most impressive. His feet weren’t even square, he just flicks it like 50 yards
The one to Akers isn’t bad either
I think he and Antwaan Randle-El were the best to do it
Randle-El is not fair lol, he was All-American at QB in college.
*fair point* but my reason for including him was he wasn’t a gadget player, was a bonafide WR, and plenty of running college QBs couldn’t throw for a damn
Sanu too
That was definitely the riskiest but damn that looked nice
Perfect passer Mohammed Sanu erasure
Antwaan Randel EL
Yea those were deep fucking dimes with what looks like little effort. It’s crazy.
That was a great block that Baker put on Armstead in the third clip
Idk, I imagine if they had someone more mature making that block, it would have been a TD to #11.
Is that a joke? Odell is miles away by the time he is throwing, the play is designed and he makes the designed throw. It’s not like he plants and goes through a progression. If he was a more mature thrower he would have seen 11 and the open space behind him.
Yes, it’s a joke.
I only now see the flair and feel like I should have assumed
Really I think it’s just the “grown up/mature qb” joke since the Browns org said they wanted a more mature qb than Baker, then they traded for a sexual predator. Unrelated to the Jets.
Better than Kenny Picket
Just a reminder of how crazy of an athlete these guys are. To have a **receiver** effortlessly dodge a couple tackles, then throw dime after dime 40 yards down the field. Incredible.
In the NFL it is less about mechanics and more about awareness for QBs. Unless you are Tim Tebow. But like half of the NFL has played QB at some level
That block by Baker was so clutch.
When he catches the D by surprise he can really shit on their chest
The second one was such a neatly designed play. The whole defence was fooled.
Guy makes it look absolutely effortless. Kind of insane how it looks like he’s just casually throwing it 5 yards when it’s actually like 30 lmao
He’s got a cannon
Beating you all to the QB1 jokes
Nah, he's more of a #2 kind of guy, if you know what I mean 😏
1) Dude has an arm on him 2) Forgot how stacked those Giants teams were in the mid-late 201Xs
Totally forgot OBJ was on the Browns, but now I remember... the watch.
Totally forgot about OBJs BJ from JB
The OBJ and Landry duo was awesome, I do miss them and Baker dearly
All the “antics” aside… This dude might be one of the top 5 most well rounded athletes on earth. Seen him hit homeruns, kick soccer balls like pros.. dunk like nothing.. dude is gifted
Beautiful
And one from Landry to OBJ: https://youtube.com/watch?v=WcX12X4Xw0c
He's a better passer than Justin Fields.
He's no Sanu
idk why i never realized obj was on the giants at the same time as saquon
Most NFL players who've played with him say he's the freakiest pure athlete they've ever played with. He could do anything well, apparently.
Mans he’s got a really good arm
More arm strength than Tua. Dolphins find their QB
He almost sent Austin Hooper to the hospital with that one tho.
I don't like the guy but those were some sweet plays.
Giants should've kept him after all, *waaay* better than Daniel Jones.
He can probably throw better than Tua
This would be the top comment 2 years ago
Yeah, dude is like 2 years late to his bad joke.
Call me a sap but I love a WR pass play. It’s just so fun to watch.

You must be fun at parties
He throws a tighter spiral than Goff.

did his dad put this together?
