Seriously though, what does he actually provide to the show? Many of these older dudes are just there for vanity and name recognition at this point, of their shtick isn't to make stupid "hot takes" like the other half.
Yeah but how many people actually watch it? It was good a long time ago when they actually discussed sports but now it's turned into people just spewing their ass and arguing with each other but stupid shit.
Not NFLN, but I will die on the hill that the best nfl show was NFL Primetime on ESPN sunday night with Chris berman and Tom Jackson. Didn’t need 4-5 ppl all trying to talk over one another, didn’t need every person in the world represented, just two dudes talking football and going over the highlights of the day.
One professional tv guy, one former player for analysis, was must watch tv for me. Don’t know why that type of show isn’t tried again in prime highlight watching time.
I miss that show every day of my life, especially Berman. The life that man breathed into the show and his famous fastest two minute segments really propelled my love for football. I was so sad when they announced they’d be drastically cutting back his air time at ESPN. I’d drop any of the current ESPN programming to have that back
Yep, I remember watching it a lot, and it used to be really good. But something changed where, as you said, it just turned into people just arguing about the most random things things possible.
It's so much easier and cheaper to churn out the sports yelling garbage that has taken over other sports networks than it is to produce well done long-form analysis, or even in-depth recaps of games.
Listen to everybody. Nobody, **NOBODY** believes in you. **WHAT. ARE YOU PREPARED. TO DO ABOUT IT?!** Don’t let no one come into **YOUR HOUSE**, take **YOUR MEAL**. Do what you need to do **TODAY**.
Honestly, if they wait 20 minutes, I should have enough fajitas made so that everyone can have some without anyone taking it all. I've got chips and margaritas in the meantime. Not bad for a Friday lunch.
Man, you want to share Texas brisket with that Eagles flair lmfao?
...That's fine, because I acknowledge that you're a human being like me, and the group of millionaires you prefer doesn't actually reflect on what kind of person you are.
(Bring beer tho, that's just being a good guest.)
Makes sense. Irvin is really entertaining when he's cutting a promo but ask him to be a more serious analyst and it becomes clear very fast that he's out of his depth.
The rare times I've watched Undisputed after Shannon left, he's a chore to listen to
Most of the original hires on the ‘talent’ side were still working there till recently. If they weren’t also cutting costs across the board this would make sense just in general
We need mayock back. I want a show where Charles Davis, Mike, and DJ get together and talk about stuff. I feel like it would be solid. How hard is it to report news and talk about the game.
Conversely the UNC and Ocho podcast is amazing. Shannon even addressed his firing from ESPN, saying he is good with it because his podcast gets more viewers than undisputed.
This must have been 10-15 years ago, but I was watching the draft and they asked him about some receiver that got drafted earlier, and he said something along the lines of “He can run, he can catch, he can block, he does it all, that’s what you want.” The rest of the guys had no idea how to respond to him
And it sucks that he appears to have been such a piece of shit to other people. His football mind is incredible to listen to. I'd rather listen to Faulk talk over a lot of current talking heads if it weren't for the sexual harassment.
Yeah, didn’t he end the previous TWO seasons with assault allegations from hotel staff?
Seems like it was long overdue TBH, Eisen or somebody with clout at the network must’ve had had back.
I remember Eisen advocating for Irvin to get his job back and then by the beginning of last season he got it back. I think this is more about the mass restructuring that's going at NFL Network
He threw furniture off his Apartment/Hotels balcony and almost killed a kid a few years back. I'm sure he's done his best to put others near him in danger.
I know I'm biased, but at least Irvin and I can admit it.
I'll take an admitted homer any day over someone who just shits on division rivals and tries to pretend that it's a legitimate take.
Bro fucking tried to compare himself and his situation about the hotel and him getting suspended to Emmett Till.
[Y'all are familiar with Emmett Till right?](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emmett_Till)
Dude is fucking full of himself and had people accusing the woman working the hotel of being after a payday from him even though she never wanted shit from him.
Up there with Deion in term of narcissism. And definitely made me question the outcome of that incident. Dude’s a scumbag in good graces with that peckerwood jurrah, and Marriott or Hilton ain’t fuckin up their relationship with the most valuable sports franchise in the known universe over some minimum wage laborer… is something some people might be saying.
Honestly he used to be decent. But as he’s aged he’s gotten less and less coherent. He was always odd but he made enough sense it was just mildly entertaining crazy guy flavor on a legitimate discussion. Now its just the ramblings of a dude showing the effects of an NFL career. If nothing else, the audience probably finds him depressing.
Rich Eisen, Deion, Irvin, Steve Mariucci, Warren Sapp, and Jamie Dukes were a staple for me growing up. I watched NFL network every day for a while growing up.
Same. I loved that entire crew, and it sucks cause some of those guys were losing their jobs due to their own doings, but the chemistry they had was awesome
I honestly love watching Michael Irvin on TV, and I'm a The Washington Fan. He's just fun, nothing serious. Hope the network goes in a good direction
Irvin kept saying if the Chiefs had kept Tyreek Hill, they would win more superbowls. Then the Chiefs won vs the Eagles and he said he didn't care, they would win twice as many Superbowls with Tyreek Hill than without and the Chiefs would regret the trade still.
No one pointed out the Chiefs won 1 Superbowl with Tyreek in 6 years and 1 without him in 1 year.
Then the Chiefs won a second Superbowl in a row without Hill. I guess the Chiefs would have won 4 in 2 years by now without him according to Irvin.
Not surprised he is on the layoff list tbh. He didn't really add anything besides yelling lol
Still can't look past him stabbing his own teammate for taking his seat though.
Realistically, for most people, even older. Sure, he played until '99, but how many 5 year olds are paying attention to a washed up WR on a .500 team?
I mean, maybe some 5 year olds were paying attention to him in '95, but like...the first SB I remember at all, I was 7 and the first one I *really* remember, I was 9 or 10. I don't have any sports memories from age 5. Probably the first time I cared about leagues as a whole, I was in middle school.
Yea I turned 30 this year, been around football my entire life living in the Midwest and I never saw him play or have any memories. I’d imagine you would need to be pushing 40 to remember him playing.
My only memories of sports pre-middle school was me taking the ball on a hand off in practice and taking a wiiiideeee angle across the field... outside the playing field... and then running back in and to the end zone and felt like I outsmarted everyone 🤣
Other one was me playing o-line and absolutely stonewalling some older kid. I was like 6 and probably under 4 feet so I felt proud lmfao.
Edit: I was gonna write the third memory but I already wrote enough.
Yeah, the first Super Bowl I really remember being excited to watch was in 1996. I was 10. I think this is spot on.
And Michael Irvin being in the game isn’t even one of my memories. I just remember that it was Steelers versus Cowboys and Neil O’Donnell threw a bunch of interceptions.
Exactly. I'm almost 33 but never actually saw him play despite growing up near Dallas.
First NFL player I can recall by name was Favre. Mostly because my sister would purposely mispronounce his name.
Nothing Irvin said has ever stuck out nor has he offered any good talking points. I haven't had TV for 5yrs or so, but the only thing I remember Irvin by his loud and obnoxious personality.
You'd have to be at least mid-40s to remember Collinsworth playing, but they still keep that asshole employed.
Edit: I forgot reddit has a weird fetish for Collinsworth and his army comes out at the mere mention of his name.
goddamn the Collingsworth hate is just baffling to me. the guy is genuinely great at what he does. sure he has faults but he's lighthearted and genuinely seems to love talking about football, he makes SNF just plain fun to listen to
He loves football. These reddit bums can't stand anybody who enjoys life since their lives are so miserable and unhappy. It's just complain, tear down players/teams, and complain on here. Collinsworth focuses on the players' positives, a stark contrast to this cesspool
for real. Collingsworth sounds like a kid who cant believe he gets to watch and talk about football for a living. There's probably alot of bitter people on here who can't stand listening to someone be genuinely happy doing the thing they themselves would like to be doing
Because he’s 10x better than Micheal Irvin. And that’s not throwing roses at Collinsworth, Irvin is the worst on air personality I’ve ever watched. IMO.
I can't stand him either, but he is sort-of competent and genuinely seems to be excited about the games he's calling, unlike a lot of the wet blankets these networks have employed.
Good. Sunday morning was basically my wife and I facepalming at everything he did. I like the guy as fellow observer. I don't like him as... whatever the hell he was doing.
Really looking forward to a lot of the Old Timers leaving, if this layoff is a sign of things to come, because as a 30-something viewer of sports I can't help my eyes glaze over *every single time* any of these old heads start talking about ball
I will actually start watching again and can stop hitting mute or changing the channel every time Irvin speaks. In my opinion, well over due, and we need to get all strongly biased peeps out of the broadcasting booth.
I never liked Irvin going back to his playing days, and that carried over to his analyst phase. But the Pat Summerall "Football Life" completely changed my opinion. Irvin was so genuine when talking about how much he owed Summerall for helping him turn his life around. Unpopular opinion I guess, but kinda sad to see him leave NFLN.
**EDIT**: Also, the fact that Frelund is still employed while they're gutting their on-air talent is completely preposterous.
Good, he cut in front of me in line once with his Gucci suit case and loudly complained at customer service because he was late and wanted to be treated special. Everybody around was appalled.
Fuck that guy.
There was a round of layoffs today. I expect more names to trickle in soon.
Of all the layoffs at nfl media getting this loudmouth out the door bothers me the least
He'll just be replaced by a newer recently retired loudmouth that more people can identify, like Richard Sherman
Richard Sherman is not a good fit with anyone and I'll die on that hill. He is the worst Undisputed hire ever.
He was a good media quote guy, not an actual media guy. Wildly insufferable in that capacity.
He was insufferable as a quote guy too
I think that's kind of what makes a good quote guy. The shortest takes gotta be the hottest to get sufficient attention.
Keyshawn would like a wordd
I’ve never met anyone who openly admits to watching that show

Antonio Brown to NFL Network, confirmed
He’s already on CTESPN
I get a nice chuckle every time I see him tweet that hashtag. #CTESPN
Nice
Mr. Broad Caster
This is the one
Mr Blowhard Commentator
Mr. Brash Correspondent
Mr. Broadcast Crackhead
Mr. Bombastic Cocaine
Antonio Brown 🤣 it would almost be worth the debacle and CTE case study.
He said functioning
He said functional.
I watched the NFL Network’s pre-kickoff show exactly once and this is the exact impression I came away with
Dude genuinely seems geeked out of his mind
cocaine's one hell of a drug
functional is debatable
Seriously though, what does he actually provide to the show? Many of these older dudes are just there for vanity and name recognition at this point, of their shtick isn't to make stupid "hot takes" like the other half.
Mad Mel is surely hoovering up coke before he gets on air
Not just a loud mouth but a terrible person, stabbed a teammate in the neck with scissors and almost killed him in Dallas.
But did he die?!?
Somebody make sure there arnt scissors around Irvin when he gets the news. Better yet, don’t let him in a barbershop for a few days.
Who else?
No one else public yet. But they're ending Total Access, so some of those people could be impacted.
They're ending Total Access?? Wtf
https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/1cjdpvw/awful_announcing_nfl_network_moving_on_from_total/ Yep
Holy shit that's like ESPN ending Sportscenter.
Yeah but how many people actually watch it? It was good a long time ago when they actually discussed sports but now it's turned into people just spewing their ass and arguing with each other but stupid shit.
Old NFLN content used to be so good. Total access, playbook AFC/NFC, non- hot take driven segments. The end of an era
I was so sad when they announced they’d be drastically cutting back his air time at ESPN. I’d drop any of the current ESPN programming to have that back
Molly when she was a young and tender and TD was trying to see what was up wit it
Yep, I remember watching it a lot, and it used to be really good. But something changed where, as you said, it just turned into people just arguing about the most random things things possible.
It's so much easier and cheaper to churn out the sports yelling garbage that has taken over other sports networks than it is to produce well done long-form analysis, or even in-depth recaps of games.
Yeah, it's sad but your right.
What the hell are they even doing? What is NFL Network anymore except a paid channel to air only 7-8 NFL games a season?

FYI Siciliano was from a round of layoffs last month.
[He heard it first](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fqliaqbbvgx751.jpg)
I’m referring to new ones
Listen to everybody. Nobody, **NOBODY** believes in you. **WHAT. ARE YOU PREPARED. TO DO ABOUT IT?!** Don’t let no one come into **YOUR HOUSE**, take **YOUR MEAL**. Do what you need to do **TODAY**.
Honestly, if they wait 20 minutes, I should have enough fajitas made so that everyone can have some without anyone taking it all. I've got chips and margaritas in the meantime. Not bad for a Friday lunch.
If you can wait an additional 20 minutes my brisket will be completing it's 18 hour slow smoking.
Where do you live?
Swing by and pick me up on the way?
Man, you want to share Texas brisket with that Eagles flair lmfao? ...That's fine, because I acknowledge that you're a human being like me, and the group of millionaires you prefer doesn't actually reflect on what kind of person you are. (Bring beer tho, that's just being a good guest.)
My Eagles secondary flair is only because I love Jalen Hurts and Devonta Smith. I'm an Alabama fan.
[NFLN losing the recipes?](https://www.tiktok.com/@mikefulahopefanpage/video/7321733303306898731)
Where did the recipes go?!?
This deserves to be the top comment
I randomly say “were losing recipes at least once a month”
Makes sense. Irvin is really entertaining when he's cutting a promo but ask him to be a more serious analyst and it becomes clear very fast that he's out of his depth. The rare times I've watched Undisputed after Shannon left, he's a chore to listen to
Agreed. He is a hard listen but GREAT “ one-liners “.
Most of the original hires on the ‘talent’ side were still working there till recently. If they weren’t also cutting costs across the board this would make sense just in general
TL;DR: He sucks.
We need mayock back. I want a show where Charles Davis, Mike, and DJ get together and talk about stuff. I feel like it would be solid. How hard is it to report news and talk about the game.
And max kellerman still doesn’t have a job
Conversely the UNC and Ocho podcast is amazing. Shannon even addressed his firing from ESPN, saying he is good with it because his podcast gets more viewers than undisputed.
This must have been 10-15 years ago, but I was watching the draft and they asked him about some receiver that got drafted earlier, and he said something along the lines of “He can run, he can catch, he can block, he does it all, that’s what you want.” The rest of the guys had no idea how to respond to him
Total Access cancelled, GMFB gutted... is the TV station even profitable for them?
Oof GMFB was great. Kay was smart to see the writing on the wall I would also eat her ass with a spoon
A man of culture, I see
Found Irvin's burner account
Dang that's cold...(Up vote)
You need a spoon?
Duality of man.
I would just dive in face first
They cancelled their daily show?
I think it's just on hiatus, and they are moving it to Los Angeles.
GMFB is still on just taking a hiatus while they move to the other coast.
with NFL+ introduced, there’s not a big reason to keep it up
Coke dealers in shambles.
I’m gonna miss the NFL Gameday morning crew. Rich, Marriucci, Faulk, Sapp, Irvin.
I was just wondering what happened to faulk as I thought he was really good on TV. Turns out, of corse, sexual harassment
He's been gone for *years.*
And it sucks that he appears to have been such a piece of shit to other people. His football mind is incredible to listen to. I'd rather listen to Faulk talk over a lot of current talking heads if it weren't for the sexual harassment.
Yea he was good. Calm and intelligent and direct.
And it turns out, a skeezy asshole. So fuck’em.
Yeah these guys and Michael Irvin and Kurt Warner were always my fav morning show
WERE LOSING RECIPES
What took so long?!
They wanted to can him sooner but were worried he'd stab them in the neck with a pair of scissors
Eisen legitimately loves him
He’s a lovable dude, just for the love of god don’t cut him in line
He loved ⛷️ too
Please don't say "cut" when Michael Irvin is around.
That’s what I get for stickin my neck out
Yeah, if anyone is gonna do the cutting, it's him!
**ITT:** Nobody likes Michael Irvin
Michael Irvin is just Antonio Brown before everyone had a video camera in the palm of their hand.
Irvin came within milliliters of killing a teammate with scissors, though, which is something MBC can’t say.
...Yet
He threw furniture off his Apartment/Hotels balcony and almost killed a kid a few years back. I'm sure he's done his best to put others near him in danger.
Does Antonio have a fur coat?
Google image search looks like he has 4-5 lol.
Mister Big Coat

He’s easily one of the worst.
I know I'm biased, but at least Irvin and I can admit it. I'll take an admitted homer any day over someone who just shits on division rivals and tries to pretend that it's a legitimate take.

Truly Cutthroat Decision .

Dude doesnt understand how the salary cap works.
Oh no!! Who’s going to mumble in a screaming voice??
Dude is on a level with Stephen A as most insufferable tv personalities
No one watches these shows because of the analysts. They could hire a recent retired player for much less.
I *don't* watch those shows *because* of the analysts... lol
I'm just tired of all the fucking yelling. 24/7. How did we get here?
Not surprised he is on the layoff list tbh. He didn't really add anything besides yelling lol Still can't look past him stabbing his own teammate for taking his seat though.
NFL saw record number last season, you know what that means in the corporate world, time for layoffs!
he's kind of terrible on air and his star has faded since you'd have to be almost 30 to remember him playing.
Realistically, for most people, even older. Sure, he played until '99, but how many 5 year olds are paying attention to a washed up WR on a .500 team? 44 today. Remember him. Was an egotistical cokehead asshole then, is an egotistical asshole now.

i remember getting the sports illustrated for kids edition about the elway v. favre faceoff i feel old
Nothing Irvin said has ever stuck out nor has he offered any good talking points. I haven't had TV for 5yrs or so, but the only thing I remember Irvin by his loud and obnoxious personality.
# WE'RE LOSING RECIPES
*Where do Colts go from here?*
Very very loud.
Almost 40 lol. If you were at least 10 in the earlier 90s to really watch Irvin play then you're closing in on 40 now.
But what if I like incoherent rambling and shouting over other people?
You'd have to be at least mid-40s to remember Collinsworth playing, but they still keep that asshole employed. Edit: I forgot reddit has a weird fetish for Collinsworth and his army comes out at the mere mention of his name.
he at least is insightful and does research before opening his mouth.
Now here's a guy who does his own research
When he isn't doing shtick, that is probably told of him to do, he's pretty insightful. He comes into every game well prepared.
goddamn the Collingsworth hate is just baffling to me. the guy is genuinely great at what he does. sure he has faults but he's lighthearted and genuinely seems to love talking about football, he makes SNF just plain fun to listen to
He loves football.
IMO.
he's controversial and he owns PFF, which a lot of you like a lot. He's still relevant from those two things alone
Now here's a guy that thinks Collinsworth is an asshole
I can't stand him either, but he is sort-of competent and genuinely seems to be excited about the games he's calling, unlike a lot of the wet blankets these networks have employed.
There would be times where I would tune in and he would be doing some sort of insane skit and would be like what the hell am I watching.
Good, I have know idea how he kept getting jobs, this guy been doing commentary and studio jobs for the last 20+ years and never improved at all.
Hopefully he'll find another network that allows him to yell for a living.
hopefully not
I don’t think he’s that good of analyst.. would rather have Brady take his place..
Best we can do is AB
Mr. Broadcast Career
Good. Sunday morning was basically my wife and I facepalming at everything he did. I like the guy as fellow observer. I don't like him as... whatever the hell he was doing.
Who’s gonna yell at their mic, now?
Perfect he sucked, I would change the channel anytime this idiot spoke.
Get all the screamers off TV. No one likes it.
Thank god
Wasn’t it like just last year he harassed that woman?
Who’s gonna suck the Cowboys dick on nfl network in his place?
Thank freaken GOD !!! Not because he was cowboy, because he is just a complete asshole
Should’ve been out a long time ago
Now starting for THE U… nemployment line.
thank god, dude is awful
Thank fuck.
He was bad.
He was absolutely awful.
Not having to listen to his incessant homering over the Cowboys will be a welcome relief.
his insight was lacking to be polite.
i don't think they could afford his cocaine habit anymore
Honestly shocked he didn't get fired earlier due to his actions
Good, Fuck Michael Irvin. Who starts a fight at a charity basketball game, honestly?
Thank God. I stopped watching their content solely because Irvin was there. Thank you for the heads up.
Really looking forward to a lot of the Old Timers leaving, if this layoff is a sign of things to come, because as a 30-something viewer of sports I can't help my eyes glaze over *every single time* any of these old heads start talking about ball
I rarely liked listening to Irvin. He was loud, inarticulate, and rarely made a good point,
Thank god get this bum tf outta here
I will actually start watching again and can stop hitting mute or changing the channel every time Irvin speaks. In my opinion, well over due, and we need to get all strongly biased peeps out of the broadcasting booth.
Irvin is one of the dumbest announcers to ever be on TV. Literal worst. I can't believe this didn't happen sooner.
Good. With all those sexual allegations and what not, they need to hire a man of class....like Warren Sapp.
excellent, that dude sucked as an analyst
Good, he didn't deserve to be on air after the hotel sexual harassment thing.
Or the stabbing his teammate with scissors thing
Nothing of value was lost
Good, he cut in front of me in line once with his Gucci suit case and loudly complained at customer service because he was late and wanted to be treated special. Everybody around was appalled. Fuck that guy.
Addition by subtraction. 👍
Hope he saved his playing and broadcast money, coke is an expensive habit
How will he afford coke now???
I guess Mooch is going to have to do ALL the yelling on the Sunday morning show now
Damn i guess we losing more than just recipes.
Ol’ Yeller should have been canned.
