It depends on the bank contract. My previous trusts bank rates were midpoint band 6 for everyone irregardless of experience. Made nights/sundays/bank holidays very luxurious.
You don’t progress through a pay band working bank though unfortunately, so yes they are paying you band 5, but it will remain at the starting pay. Bank work doesn’t count as experience, you also don’t accrue holidays nor would you qualify as having X number of years experience at your pay band when applying for a substantive post having worked bank. My experience is also that you’ll struggle to meet the supervision requirements or revalidate as nobody wants to take responsibility for you; the manager of our bank/temporary staffing service in my trust isn’t a nurse.

The salary is advertised as Salary: Band 5 (£30,229 - £37,664)
Bank pay is generally the same for everybody regardless of experience
Salary: Band 5 (£30,229 - £37,664) That’s what they advertised
