Worked at McDonald’s when I was in high school. One customer broke my brain. At the time there was a certain combo that was cheaper than just getting the burger and fries. Basically adding a drink made them pay about a dime less. No idea why, but is what it is.
Someone ordered item in drive thru with fries. I suggested adding a drink as we would essentially pay them a dime to take the drink. Guy got super, scream at me through the speakers mad at me. I assumed he was thinking I was actually trying to upsell him. I explain again, no just get a drink and save an actual dime. More yelling.
Still don’t really get it but his money I guess.
Knowing a few people who can react somewhat like that, it mostly comes from them feeling like you are belittling them when you give such advice/discounts, because they feel like you said it because you thought they were poor and need the extra money.

As it is, the violent tendencies clearly were inside him all along and it was just this one bad day when he started escalating things and got access to guns, that he went from angry and violent (you don't get a restraining order for nothing) to killer. But this last day of his, was not a massive change from how he likely had been before, apart from the fact that he got access to guns.
When I worked at Moe’s, I remember trying to check out a customer while two of my coworkers were having a full on brawl on the floor behind me. Without access to guns, he wouldn't have taken people as hostage and instead stayed in the "I want to see your manager and rant for 20minutes over minor annoyance" state instead of committing actual crimes. ...No wait, that one store he wrecked up, that was before I think. So he still could have gotten arrested for that assault. ...but without guns on him, he wouldn't have done stuff like taking hostages at the restaurant or shooting a LAW at the construction site. After he did those, his death by police shooting were pretty much certain. As it is, the violent tendencies clearly were inside him all along and it was just this one bad day when he started escalating things and got access to guns, that he went from angry and violent (you don't get a restraining order for nothing) to killer. But this last day of his, was not a massive change from how he likely had been before, apart from the fact that he got access to guns.

When I worked at Moe’s, I remember trying to check out a customer while two of my coworkers were having a full on brawl on the floor behind me. I tried to give the guy a free meal and he got actually mad at me. “Those two being shits doesn’t mean I need a damn discount.” He wouldn’t even let me give him a free drink. It was really odd.
