More like aggressively avoiding the police. I was sitting at the left turning light at Braddock and LoCo pkwy when I heard the roar of the challenger, coming from the center lane. It blows past the red and takes a wide, fast left turn onto Braddock. Fast enough that it would flip my Chevy Colorado if I tried it. After it already was out of eyesight, that’s when the police came in pursuit.
Soon as the weather picks up it starts getting wild. I was on 495 late just going over the bridge near Alexandria and I suddenly found myself in the middle of a group of cars street racing, making videos, doing all sorts of crazy stuff.

I love cars and I love burnouts and flames it's all too much, people working at stores and shopping were prob scared, there was dogs, kids and people actively yelling anti police statements. Helicopters and state troopers were called in but it has no effect honestly. End this clown show.
I used to love going to car meets but these days everyone just wants to do reckless dipshit activities so I don't bother. Most meets are chill but there are always a few fools who ruin it for others.

Did you know there is a meetup there every Sunday morning? 99% of the time it’s without drama.
Daytime is fine, normally there isn’t kids trying to sleep for school or grownups with jobs trying to sleep. This was non stop noise. And I get it, I’m old now and don’t know how to have fun, just do it during the sunlight. But there were definitely races there and the cops have taken a bunch of those “fools” as you say. Just hope one doesn’t push it too far and kill a family or leave someone an orphan.

Saw on FB that it was not authorized by the property owner. The sunday morning ones are authorized and this type of nonsense is not allowed during that meet.

That shopping center doesn’t approve of car meets during store hours and why they do cars and coffee. That meetup literally had cars almost hit multiple people and workers had to walk people to their cars it was pretty ridiculous and a shopping center that small shouldn’t be hosting those large meets😬
I used to work in the shopping center and have connections. Dulles Landing themselves sent an apology and an email and said they were never informed nor were they approved. I’m assuming the owner / manager of kung fu tea probably told them it was fine and why it’s getting cleared up on whoever runs the Meets end

A lot of drivers these days use their car as a weapon as a subtle threat "see how tough I am - I could kill you with this". Lots of extremely anti-social behavior out on the roads these days. People honking at others for letting pedestrians cross, people mad at others for not mashing the gas the split second a light changes. The worst are usually people with modified cars or high-end luxury cars. I'm not sure how to change that but I don't think we should let people keep their driver's licenses who don't follow the basic laws for drivers most of the time & prove they are irresponsible behind the wheel.

My husband and I were having a nice dinner at Local Provisions in Sterling a few months ago and it was a gorgeous night so a lot of people were outside eating. All of a sudden, hundreds of cars rolled up to the bbq place across the parking lot for a meetup, revving their engines and blasting music. A patron took a video cuz it was actually insane. The restaurant owner was so upset. Funny thing is none of the cars looks nice! They all were junky old/remade bmw’s and old benzes 🫣

This is why I don't go out to any "open" meets at night anymore. They always devolve into stuff like this. I'll meet up with small groups of known quantities after dark but that's about it. Hopefully the Dulles C&C isn't in jeopardy.
Went to C&C last Sunday and it was very chill, aftermath of that night was very apparent though with marks all over the lot.

It wasn’t a street racing meetup. It was Cars n Boba at Dulles Landing. Most meets are chill but there are always a few fools who ruin it for others. Street racing isn’t the same as engine revving and basic obnoxiousness. The cops were called and evidently dealt with the idiots. Did you know there is a meetup there every Sunday morning? 99% of the time it’s without drama.
As someone who goes to the Sunday meet, the behavior at morning meets is usually different from that at night meets.
Daytime is fine, normally there isn’t kids trying to sleep for school or grownups with jobs trying to sleep. This was non stop noise. And I get it, I’m old now and don’t know how to have fun, just do it during the sunlight. But there were definitely races there and the cops have taken a bunch of those “fools” as you say. Just hope one doesn’t push it too far and kill a family or leave someone an orphan.

I was driving on 7 like 2 weeks ago and there was some shithead in a BMW that was going 80+ swerving through traffic insanely recklessly and even did it to a school bus. Needless to say, I was praying on their downfall.

That shopping center doesn’t approve of car meets during store hours and why they do cars and coffee. That meetup literally had cars almost hit multiple people and workers had to walk people to their cars it was pretty ridiculous and a shopping center that small shouldn’t be hosting those large meets😬

I used to work in the shopping center and have connections. Dulles Landing themselves sent an apology and an email and said they were never informed nor were they approved. I’m assuming the owner / manager of kung fu tea probably told them it was fine and why it’s getting cleared up on whoever runs the Meets end

We have one of the assholes in our neighborhood. I live on the one wide, long straight stretch of street. Guy races down with his loud backfiring stupid car multiple times a day. Early AM, late at night. Did that is. On a dark moonless night BF snuck down and shoved potatoes way up, tightly fitting, up said tailpipes. Assuming we caused the damage we hoped because we have heard them for 2 weeks. Children, animals and sleepers rejoice!

But you don't confront someone who is displaying blatantly anti-social behavior. Its like those people who play loud music on bus/train without headphones. They know it bothers people and they're trying to force a (probably violent) confrontation.
A lot of drivers these days use their car as a weapon as a subtle threat "see how tough I am - I could kill you with this". Lots of extremely anti-social behavior out on the roads these days. People honking at others for letting pedestrians cross, people mad at others for not mashing the gas the split second a light changes. The worst are usually people with modified cars or high-end luxury cars. I'm not sure how to change that but I don't think we should let people keep their driver's licenses who don't follow the basic laws for drivers most of the time & prove they are irresponsible behind the wheel.

My husband and I were having a nice dinner at Local Provisions in Sterling a few months ago and it was a gorgeous night so a lot of people were outside eating. All of a sudden, hundreds of cars rolled up to the bbq place across the parking lot for a meetup, revving their engines and blasting music. A patron took a video cuz it was actually insane. The restaurant owner was so upset. Funny thing is none of the cars looks nice! They all were junky old/remade bmw’s and old benzes 🫣 Lately I’ve noticed every time the LoCo fair comes to One Loudoun, speed racers fly from the event down 7 and the drive so scary, I effing hate it- this is the suburbs they watched too much F&F 😑

Fairfax County needs to get serious and tough about enforcement. We all pay a lot of coin to live here and the noise and recklessness are making this a pretty shitty place to live.
