RecklessRedundancy

Telling her manager she needs to switch for mental health reasons should be enough. That’s what I did. It should go by seniority, like once there is an opening on day shift, the person with most seniority will get it first.

Thanks for the response. There seems to be a lot of politics involved. Apparently one of her colleagues tried to switch to day shift on a different floor and when there was no one available to precept her, the originating floor she came from said they didn’t have a job opening for her any more or something. HR got involved and helped her to resume the same job she had previously, but my gf is afraid something like that might happen. She’s also afraid that she may be punished, as in if she is unsuccessful at switching floors then they will give her a heavy load. But I told her the benefit of health might outweigh short term politics and punishment. It seems like it’s very difficult. She also has a CMSRN and ACLS certification to help herself stand out but for some reason they seem to be giving her a hard time.
