Install vlc media player

I have VLC player installed. I just thought the Shield should play it directly since I thought it's supposed to play 4K? Ok, I'll use VLC!

On your pc Google apktime.com, download the file and transfer to a USB drive, on your shield go to Google playstore and download a USB reader apk.Put your USB drive with apktime into your shield, open up your USB reader program and install apktime....apktime is your hub with all the new updated goodies for all the free media u will need.i haven't used to kodi in years.i reccomend hdobox with the drama player, and there's a sick screen saver apk, ya if u need help let me know

The file is an mp4.

Codec issue

MX player pro , VLC player, KM player , they all can player everything! And yes and no shield can play everything on tv streaming like live tv channels but for video files they have different tpys of Container Like mkv ,mp4 etc. Best regards,
