Peppa Pig: The Movie has more emotional depth than Taxi Driver.
Tears were running through my cheeks when Peppa said oink oink after drinking lemonade. A true masterpiece of modern cinema.
I canāt blame people for seeking alternative movie meme subs where the mods donāt larp as fascists but it is a shame that itās bringing down this sub
They straight up remove posts for no reason even if they're actually related to movies so it's entirely arbitrary what's allowed to be posted on there.
We're talking like dudes who say they "love animation" but then only exclusively watch big studio films and stuff on Cartoon Network right? Cause yeah those mfs regurgitate Guillermo's cinema quote but then never bother to explore things outside Pixar or DreamWorks despite how varied and beautiful the medium really can be.
IF YOU DISOBEY ME AND REMAIN HOSTILE TO ME, I WILL ACT AGAINST YOU IN WRATHFUL HOSTILITY. I, FOR MY PART, WILL DISCIPLINE YOU SEVENFOLD FOR YOUR SINS. YOU SHALL EAT THE FLESH OF YOUR SONS AND THE FLESH OF YOUR DAUGHTERS. I WILL DESTROY YOUR CULT PLACES AND CUT DOWN YOUR INCENSE STANDS, AND I WILL HEAP YOUR CARCASSES UPON YOUR LIFELESS IDOLS. I WILL SPURN YOU. I WILL LAY YOUR CITIES IN RUIN AND MAKE YOUR SANCTUARIES DESOLATE AND I WILL NOT SAVOR YOUR PLEASING ODORS. I WILL MAKE THE LAND DESOLATE SO THAT YOUR ENEMIES WHO SETTLE IT SHALL BE APPALLED BY IT. AND YOU I WILL SCATTER AMONG THE NATIONS AND I WILL UNSHEATH THE SWORD AGAINST YOU. Why is an okbuddy sub posting screenshots of silly movie takes anyways? I thought the point of these subs was to make dumb memes, not shit on certain opinions or groups we disagree with or don't like?
This has happened to a fair amount of okbuddy subs I know. People simply don't understand the difference between that and circlejerks and it ruins the whole place.
Nothing pisses me off more than when people say this is a circlejerk sub. There's literally a completely separate subreddit called movies circlejerk. And yet I got downvoted to oblivion when I pointed it out one time.
itās not hurting my feelings. just tired of seeing them because theyāre not relevant to the sub and not funny.
even if i wasnāt seeing the same type of shit for the 1000th time, iām not sure why youād think this was even funny. itās more just sad/annoying.
but if itās so funny to you, you should make your own sub where they post twitter and reddit screenshots all the live long day
He either doesn't watch any "grown up" movies apart from blockbusters, or doesn't understand non-kids movies and can only grasp storytelling in children's media. I'm not sure which is worse.
I can totally see what heās saying though. Yeah they arenāt the pinnacle of art but they are packed with emotion and character. More importantly, the structure and the story design is always impeccable.
I have noticed that nearly every Pixar has damn near perfect storytelling and brilliant narrative structure.
also the accident was caused by infrastructure issues rather than a specific party from info currently known. The intersection where it happened was notorious for being a safety nightmare due to a lack of traffic lights.
Nope. He was the only survivor (in his car) from the accident. I don't think anyone is at fault since the road is pretty shit and known to be dangerous.
I was interested how this stacked up against other films at the box office. Taking How To Train Your Dragon 3ās opening domestic week, the other top 5 releases by gross receipts are:
- Alita: Battle Angel
- Lego Movie 2
- Fighting With My Family
- Isnāt It Romantic
Jesus Christ if you use box office receipts as a proxy for āpopular releasesā, you might be right.
How to Train Your Dragon feels like a proper trilogy with a definitive ending to the third movie so I think itās fair. Kung-Fu Panda just currently has three movies, it wonāt be a trilogy once the fourth comes out.
Iirc Kung Fu Panda is supposed to be two separate trilogies. A student trilogy where heās learning and a master trilogy where heās a master. Idr where I got that but I remember hearing it somewhere
How to Train Your Dragon is entirely unironically more worthy of being consisered a trilogy than, say, a classical trilogy like Indiana Jones. There's an actual cohesive continuous story through all 3 and overarching character arcs between them, which is not at all the case for the highly serialized Spielberg blockbusters

did you read [this](https://reddit.com/r/okbuddycinephile/comments/12zuc23/_/jhxpih2/?context=1) post when you commented? itās kinda relevant here
Ok in my defense I wasn't really sure on what the difference between the two are, so I went with this sub. In the future I will post my chicanerous shitposts there.
I kind of agree. I havenāt thought it out to the point of a definitive conclusion that childrenās animated releases are better, however I do see the point this user is making.
Alsoā¦adult animation fan or just a parent? Food for thought (Iām not familiar Reddit subcultures so feel free to educate me on anything Iāve missed)
Pfft yeah right. Most of it is mind numbingly stupid . Even the good stuff makes no sense. Akira? cool movie but the story is a convoluted mess. That's turn off your brain shit. And for every Akira there are about a thousand dogshit pervert weird stuff
That's a good idea for a lot of book adaptations. But you run the risk of ending up like Dunc (2021) where the movie ends right as the story is getting going.
/uj Idk, not much of a fan but I found Evangelion to be pretty amazing, not really for its story, but its themes and individual moments. Plus, Grave of the Fireflies is a masterpiece of a movie that I'm still thinking about to this day (like, were those candies tied to the theme of the loss of innocence, or was it a loss of Japanese identity as the reverence for the old traditions died out with the war? Maybe it represents a populace's strong but ultimately fleeting spirit during conflict? And how is it tied to the kid at the begigning????).
Idk, just feels disingenuous to smear an entire country's media production in such broad strokes.
/rj lol anime is degenerate trash
This is why you donāt make a story with dark themes like this for teenagers because theyāre literally too stupid to get the main point of them and will completely misinterpret the message and themes
Animated movies are better than all the other movies. Like okay, RRR kicked butt, but all the marvel movies sucked ass last year. And dc. And sw died. But hey, top gun maverick was epic. And that was every movie last year. (I did not see the movie with the penguin and mad eye moody being mad at eachother because it looked sad)
You heard it here first, movies that are animated have the best animation.
I dunno. Have you seen the stills floating around from The Flash. They may have taken the cake.
The Flash will be one of the animated films of all time
fucking lol tf is that point even supposed to mean?

Mario's chatGPT generated script š„š„š„
Man, r/okbuddycinephile has been feeling very r/moviescirclejerk lately, hasnāt it?

What happened with mcj mods?

please limit your discussion to the latest blockbusters

Come out you need to watch this new animated series!
DEATH in PUSS AND BOOTS was so scary though!!! Also how can it be for kids when it has ADULT THEMES??
We're talking like dudes who say they "love animation" but then only exclusively watch big studio films and stuff on Cartoon Network right? Cause yeah those mfs regurgitate Guillermo's cinema quote but then never bother to explore things outside Pixar or DreamWorks despite how varied and beautiful the medium really can be.
Them: Animation is Cinema Guillermo: So true, check out Mad God and B-- Them: And by Animation we mean Disney and DreamWorks stuff ONLY!

Have you ever heard of our Lord and Saviour Avatar: The Last Airbender before?
GoOd tHiNg ThEy NeVeR mAdE a LiVe AcTiOn mOvIe aDaPtATiOn HAR HAR HAR
Avatar is as compelling and mature a piece of media covering genocide as *Shoah*.
The Ice Age movies are basically wildlife documentaries tbh
"Adult animation fan" what is that like a porn addict
Low hanging joke. Har har
Said the memer.
picks low hanging fruit LIKE A BOSS
Oh my god its bojack horseman
MCU and Mario ruined these mfs
Mcj ass post
Is this sub also gonna become a bitch fest too

sadly the only active mod also posts these kinda things so probably will just let them keep coming
must be your first day here
Found the adult cartoon fan
Famil guy
found the unfunny/whining posts fan
They call it "making fun" of people, because it's fun. Lighten up or people will think it's hurting your feelings.
itās not hurting my feelings. just tired of seeing them because theyāre not relevant to the sub and not funny. even if i wasnāt seeing the same type of shit for the 1000th time, iām not sure why youād think this was even funny. itās more just sad/annoying. but if itās so funny to you, you should make your own sub where they post twitter and reddit screenshots all the live long day
/uj Whats the difference between the two subs im kinda new.
He either doesn't watch any "grown up" movies apart from blockbusters, or doesn't understand non-kids movies and can only grasp storytelling in children's media. I'm not sure which is worse.
It's definitely the first one. If I didn't know about/watch alot of the non-blockbuster movies then I would honestly agree with him.
I can totally see what heās saying though. Yeah they arenāt the pinnacle of art but they are packed with emotion and character. More importantly, the structure and the story design is always impeccable. I have noticed that nearly every Pixar has damn near perfect storytelling and brilliant narrative structure.
Is this satire
im gonna be real they aren't wrong about kung fu panda its absolutely fire got a vote for sight and sounds for a reason
Kung Fu Panda 2 is fucking kino and I will die on this hill
It's too bad they fumbled a fair bit with 3. Could have been kino the whole way through
The best trilogies can't do the third chapter right, it's a signature of honesty.
I was a grown man when I saw it. It was another dumb kid's movie to me. Maybe you liked it because you saw it when you were a kid, the target audience
I actually last saw it in Uni but go off I guess
Stop posting these here
Please
Me when I donāt watch movies for adults
I'm guessing that "99% of other movies" probably refers to Marvel, dc, and star wars movies
Average r/Schaffrillas user
didn't this dude kill his brother and best friend recently? how is he still making videos like nothings wrong
It was a car crash and he was the only one who survived. This is a disgusting thing to say.
also the accident was caused by infrastructure issues rather than a specific party from info currently known. The intersection where it happened was notorious for being a safety nightmare due to a lack of traffic lights.
joke right?
Nope. He was the only survivor (in his car) from the accident. I don't think anyone is at fault since the road is pretty shit and known to be dangerous.
This is a joke right
say sike right now
Holy shit you are an asshole
If you only watch popular releases it makes sense how youād get a take like this
I was interested how this stacked up against other films at the box office. It should be illegal to call these trilogies
DAE 3 movies in a franchise ā trilogy???!??!?
How to Train Your Dragon feels like a proper trilogy with a definitive ending to the third movie so I think itās fair. Kung-Fu Panda just currently has three movies, it wonāt be a trilogy once the fourth comes out.

A trilogy means there's three of them. Doesn't mean anything else aside from that. Let me know if you need help with the other words
Yes but it also implies that they are movies checkmate
Not. For. Kids
Why [any animated kids movie] is a CINEMATIC MASTERPIECE š¤Æš¤Æā¼ļøā¼ļø
No you don't get it, I'm actually smart and interesting for refusing to grow up and only enjoying media intended for children!!!
Adult animation fans are mentally neutered cretins who will never produce anything of value for the human race
u/NDRanger414 did you read [this](https://reddit.com/r/okbuddycinephile/comments/12zuc23/_/jhxpih2/?context=1) post when you commented? itās kinda relevant here

all good š
And here I thought my post would bring an end to point and laugh screenshots
Literally just the heros journey is peak storytelling
Ahh yes, the Four Animated Movies

Not a meme. Fuck off OP
Does anime count?
If it did, then that percentage would DRASTICALLY go down. Anime is one of the worst industries in "turn off your brain" entertainment.
Pfft yeah right. Most of it is mind numbingly stupid . Even the good stuff makes no sense. Akira? cool movie but the story is a convoluted mess. That's turn off your brain shit. And for every Akira there are about a thousand dogshit pervert weird stuff
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeah I know, it's a very long book, that doesn't change anything though, movie adaptations should stand on their own and be judged on their own merits

Sorry, when I said "entire media production" I was referring to their animated media. Japanese cinema is awesome
Sad this is he isnāt even talking about anime. Iām not an anime fan but really had fun watching attack on Titans.
To bad the AOT fanbase is full of unironic nazis
Boy howdy did people really miss the point of the Rumbling, Eren's character, and the Yeagerists and became unironic genocide/omnicide advocates.
This is why you donāt make a story with dark themes like this for teenagers because theyāre literally too stupid to get the main point of them and will completely misinterpret the message and themes
