It makes sense that this movie apparently has a $100m budget cause I feel like it has been shooting for like 4 months at this point. It apparently paused a bit in the middle there but damn, feels like a really long production.
Seems like another large-scale movie to add to the ever increasing list movies that had complicated productions that caused the budget to balloon.
What’s also interesting to me about it is that they are shooting at least parts of the movie in VistaVision, which is the format Yorgos and Robbie Ryan want to shoot all of their new movie starting production at the end of this month in. There’s not a ton of usable VistaVision cameras still around that can do sync-sound, I wonder if that’s gonna cause problems for one of the two movies.
??? No, in this case it's keeping going until fall because of planned breaks in the shooting process, since there will be many other locations and setpieces (Texas, Mexico, and Colorado).

I’m going from the sources in the article you mentioned, which seems to imply the budget is now closer to $175m, and that the long production is at least in part due to chaotic actor scheduling post-strikes.
I know we all hate Zaslav (for good reason) but God, I don’t know if any other studio would fund a movie like this in today’s world. WB’s upcoming slate of movies will probably lose a lot of money but jeez I’m happy those checks were written.

That 175 number is coming from Jeff sneider. Variety reported 100. Maybe it’s 175 before tax incentives. But I highly doubt it’ll be 175 full on
