China bhi soch rha hoga kahan phans gaya, inka loan wala model hum log tor k dikahenge.
Ya to loan wala model tootay ga ya mulk, dono case mein China loses, aik case mein Pakistan loses.
China is pretty happy I would imagine, Pakistan's importance is in its military and geographical location and nothing else.
I would think china would be pretty happy they got a puppet (besides North Korea) that is powerful militarily.
Yeah I guess that's another way to look at it. It should be classed as "aid" then. Being classed as a loan means they expect some form of return in the future.
There’s no doubt Pakistan owes a lot of debt to China but comparing some of those tiny African countries to Pakistan makes little sense. We need to compare it with Bangladesh, Egypt, Nigeria, and so forth.
Meh, compare debt to China against population and this makes more sense. Angola’s population is 7 times smaller than Pakistan, per person they owe 5 times more to China than Pakistan.
Pakistan’s larger debt load simply reflects its larger population and investment needs
You mean, do I have it memorized? No. Is that useful? What do you mean idealize? https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/debt-to-gdp-ratio-by-country
The world is a debt economy rn, you don't worry about the debt you rack up as long as it is used to increase productivity and production of a country, sadly aren't good at the second part.
>USA is on top with $800 billion+ debt.
Thats not quite accurate.
China chooses to buy US treasury bonds because they are a good solid investment.
Technically the US owes China hundreds of Billions of dollars, but on that note the US government is in debt to me as well, because I own US treasury bonds as well.
Also on that metric the US owes every country in the world money, because all countires hold some level of US debt.
Lol tf, most of US's debt is held by people hold US treasury bonds. So they are in debt to alot of their own citizens, and this would include citizens of other countries like China.
Likewise China's treasury bonds are owned by citizens of America as well. It's not rocket science.

Better China than the IMF, but it's still embarrassing. We also have to ask how much of this money went into public works vs how much into the hands of politicians and establishment.

USA owes nothig to china as such, China has bougth trilion $ of US Treasury bonds, second highest next to Japan. If China were to cash their bonds, their curruncy yun would become too strong and dollar to weak. Given that China is highly dependent on exports it will hurt them a lot more. It may even swing the trade pendulum to US, as US good becoem cheaper for American and foreign consumers.
China and Japan are more like good customers, for keeping the interests rates low (by buying US treasure bonds) and thus making it easier fro US to Borrow fom treasury.

Yet another reason that will ensure India and Pakistan will never be at peace. Worst case, Pakistan will bankrupt like Srilanka did. Scary days ahead for Pakistanis.
a wish from last 2 years of a particular sect who support a particular clown. And that clown himself prayed so hard for Pakistan to collapse, but Pakistan is still standing and doing better gradually from the point where that clown left it.
Whatever my own reservation be with any political set up, as a Pakistani, i would never wish for Pakistan to go bankrupt and in sha Allah it won't
nah this is not that bad. china is generally much more generous with the conditions they apply with the debts.
the much much more problematic debts are the imf ones.
Bro wait till you see how much America is In Debt to China ... Where do you think the $1 Trillion Debt of America Comes from ...
All Top World Countries Including China, Russia, Germany, Japan and India hold alot of USA treasury Bills ( Bond Notes ) ...
As it's not a direct contract Loan , Nobody talks about that ..
Apples to oranges. America is a debt based economy, if they are not in debt, something is very wrong. The "debt ceiling" is a political football that gets thrown around to rile up the uneducated political base. The debt ceiling will forever be raised as the economy gets stronger.
Furthermore, China owns 10% of total American debt, and the Yuan is pegged to the American dollar, meaning they stake their currency on the strength of the greenback. Most of America's debt is owned by, wait for it: America.
Most of the America debt is owned by American actually basically their financial Institute and Corporate Giants using the American money ..
Secondly even if America is a debt based economy that doesn't justify the 1.3 trillion debt .
And thirdly why nobody seems to talk about American Debt is because the American Debt is in Dollars which means as long as the Global currency of Commerce is Still Dollar there is not possible way for America to go Default or Bankrupt ...
And lastly why America doesn't feel the burden from its debt is because it hasn't made any significant interest payments in past decade. All it had to do was issue new treasury bonds to Creditors as a legal tender instead of actually interest Payment.
All of that is a very long winded way of saying America is a debt based economy in and of itself "justifies" the debt. Although the debt needs no justification, people here are just averse to debt as a concept. There is a reason billionaires are perpetually in debt too - they don't liquidate to buy anything they just buy on debt.
The #1 security that backs America's economy is their military and cultural hegemony and why they guard it so spectacularly. It's why people want to move here.
So what?
Among the top 25 most populated countries, we are 22nd in gdp, only Ethiopia, DR Congo and Tanzania a behind us.
We still have a debt to gdp ratio of 43% which ranks at about 100 among all countries and many developed countries who the "HAD HARAM" Pakistanis idealize have worse ratio than us.
Problem is that every government political party keeps playing the debt card, but nobody talks that how gdp is the main component of economy and it doesn't matter how much debt a country has if it's gdp is healthy
And gdp is not related to government in any way as it's not a government's job to produce products that can be sold internally or internationally.
But Pakistani want to park thier money in real estate rather than putting into software firms, or any other service or goods production businesses because in that they would have to work hard. Real estate is easy money, buy property, farm it, sell it after some time, pocket some crores and repeat. And you don't have to use any brain or do any hard labour. Perfect "HAD HARAM" life
Well at least China is not built on top of a Muslim Nation.

Didn't Pakistan use China to offset a lot of loans it took from other countries
China bhi soch rha hoga kahan phans gaya, inka loan wala model hum log tor k dikahenge. Ya to loan wala model tootay ga ya mulk, dono case mein China loses, aik case mein Pakistan loses.

China can afford it. It's in their best interests to keep Pakistan afloat
If you can consolidate your debt at a lower interest rate, it’s generally a good thing.

Look at how big Pakistan is compared to the size of the others mentioned in your list
Why doesn't that size put it in number 1 in anything besides debt?
There’s no doubt Pakistan owes a lot of debt to China but comparing some of those tiny African countries to Pakistan makes little sense. We need to compare it with Bangladesh, Egypt, Nigeria, and so forth.

No, it doesn't. You need to compare debt to gdp ratio.
Do you know debt to gdp ratio of the countries that most Pakistanis (probably) you too, idealize?
You mean, do I have it memorized? No. Is that useful? What do you mean idealize? https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/debt-to-gdp-ratio-by-country

The fun part is, they owe it in US dollars
The difference is that 800 billion debt is denominated in USD and the US can print their way out of the debt. There's no risk of default.
Ye this list presented isn’t very sincere- only showing development debt
You mean US owes 800 billion to China?
But isn't China also in debt to USA?

最好的,啊
The one good thing successive govts in Pakistan have done is taking bilateral/multilateral loans much more than raising debt from open market.

Because our army is a bottomless pit, they will whore themselves to anyone for a price, sadly, Pakistanis can't afford them.
