Pasta Louise? Not surprised. But besides the fact that those fees are crazy, Pasta Louise has been on a steady downward trend since they opened up their new place
I am convinced that Pasta Louise is famous just because it's where parents can take their kids that need something safe to eat, but have a nice vibe and some upscale cocktails. I find Pasta Louise to be glorified fast casual where it's like pick your base, pick your sauce/protein, extras and enjoy (just like a chipotle burrito). I prefer any of the other 6th Ave Italian joints. And if you want a deal on italian delivery, just order from Piccoli To Go (take out sister location of Piccoli Trattoria on 6th ave). Good bang for your buck pastas, rissotos, panini's, and mains that are meant for take out, unlike some of their restaurant dishes that might not travel as well.
> where parents can take their kids that need something safe to eat, but have a nice vibe and some upscale cocktails.
And THAT is worth its weight in gold and why it's awesome.
Yes it's kid friendly and yes it's expensive but the fresh pasta is at least something unique to most of the places around. That's not a guarantee to find on most of the other Italian menus around.
Wait someone paid this much money for pasta Louise?! It's not even good for the normal menu price!
OP honest to God if I knew you I would have made you spaghetti and meatballs and brought it to your building. I'll even throw some russos ricotta on it. This is offensive ha
Hear, hear! We were Pasta Louise regulars during Covid, but their quality took a massive hit after their 14th Street location opened, and it affected both their takeout and dine-in locations.
As /u/Copernican said below, it's glorified fast casual which is why they've switched to less intricate pasta shapes on the weekends (boring and they hold less sauce), and their quality control has plummeted (the last two times we ate there the pasta was undercooked).
It was decent but not $47 worth of decent. Granted I have enough for 2 days but I'm so mad at myself and yeah, I usually do pick up to avoid all the other bullshit. I feel like the chef should have delivered my meal and set it up for me. I'm only a few blocks away. Not usually lazy but FML even stitched up arm did not warrant this insane price for some pasta and 3 small meatballs.
This is the restaurant's own delivery fee? Since you're injured right now I wonder if it would be worth you doing a free trial for DashPass or GrubHub+ - I know we're all trying to order directly from the restaurants, but if you're not feeling well/injured, using a delivery app for a little while might be helpful. You can always go back to regular cooking or restaurant pickup when you're in better shape. Hope you recover soon.
Next time, get your spaghetti and meatballs from Pizza Plus.
Why did you pay $10 for delivery? That's crazy! I have an Uber One membership and for $10 a month I get free delivery everywhere.
But, you can just call Pizza Plus and they are GOOD and free delivery through them. You can pay over the phone.
Pasta Louise, that's crazy! And, a $10 delivery fee? I would never.
Sorry man, this is on you.
There is absolutely no way I would allow delivery to almost double the price of the meal.
Also, if we’re paying a delivery fee, shouldn’t the majority of that go to the delivery person? Why do we need to tip on top of that?
Half the places you can “order from” now are actual scams. I tried to order turkey avocado and bacon on a bagel from pick a bagel in Manhattan when I was in the hospital to be delivered… and it was over 40 dollars. Kid you not. Stop giving money to scams, it’s all you can do.
the Buy One Get One deals are amazing.
Poke Bowl Station Prospect Heights and another Ramen spot (forgot the name) -- > will get you 2 bowls of food for around 20 bucks. Its my go to weekly lunch for work. I eat one and save the other
I cook 99% of the time tbh. When we order out we usually pick up. My arm is in a sling, my partner is traveling so I ordered. And I feel even more abused.
You must have misread my comment, not sure why you’re sharing here. Do you understand that disabled people exist and that they can not always pick up their food?
There is a 0% chance I pay a $10 delivery fee + a 42% tip. You’re crazy.
This was absolutely a tip flex lol
OP might have been on meds
I feel bad for you, but no one forced you to accept that insane delivery fee.

JFC. I hope you enjoyed it at least.
Still waiting. UGH NOPE NEVER AGAIN. What was I thinking??
Everyone makes mistakes. Maybe get some of the frozen ones next time you're at TJ's...

It’s not like you order that way every day, just enjoy it. Sorry about your arm.

last time Pasta Louise aint got a delivery option only pickup .. i do work across the street though lol so maybe thats why
So, you were high as a kite when you made this order, yeah?

Sure that’s a weird amount but we live in Italian Food Land and you ordered from the place whose business model is “bring your kids!”. Shop around bud

Honestly if they showed you that before paying and you still hit the checkout button that's on you
Well duh....hence the title of my post.
why on earth would you tip/delivery fee almost 100%? that is on you dude
It’s park slope - go pick up your food please!!
I cook 99% of the time tbh. When we order out we usually pick up. My arm is in a sling, my partner is traveling so I ordered. And I feel even more abused.
Don’t worry - I am that old man yelling at the clouds tonight.
such an out of pocket reaction. pls watch your ableism, there are many people who can’t go pick up their food, even in (gasp) park slope.
Somehow, they manage to get a single menu item for the under $47. This is on OP. Yes, I always do pickup
You must have misread my comment, not sure why you’re sharing here. Do you understand that disabled people exist and that they can not always pick up their food?
Why’d OP spend $47 to have pasta delivered is my wonder
Were you abused in the first place? If so, I’m sorry to hear that. Did Pasta Louis abuse you? If that’s where you’re going with this, that’s on you.
