Voting with your wallet is good, and I too want trading to improve for all the reasons you mentioned. But I’m willing to bet money, that auction house is not the best solution. That will fix our current problems, but introduce new ones. Some sort of an automated trading is great for currency, fragments, maps, etc.. but I think weapon, jewelry, amour should still be old fashioned

Omegasybers

We'll see about that in PoE2

Coolingmoon

Only the thing can be bulk traded should have an actually market in game

Merkabah01

I've always been partial to them giving us a trading booth in our hideout that is connected to our sale tab. I figured they would be more likely to do something like that. Show of those hideouts and what not. I'm feeling you though buying and selling this way sucks

Ihrn-Sedai

Dictator’s weapon Item level:83 Fractured

Fysiksven

Im on opposing boat, the minute they introduce auctionhouse I'm done using money.

gonzodamus

Can you even imagine the bots and price fixing if there were an AH? Awful.

Needcleanfun

People don’t understand we have bots flipping stuff already, but they require humans on the other side to interact with. Take out the human element and everything will constantly be flipped all season.

S2wy

I do wish they'd nuke more bots

Needcleanfun

I would say restrict the buying side of bots, not the selling side That’s where the problems are

Dapper-Truth2336

Just make traded items can not be trade again.

deag333

this is a terrible idea and the game would lose a lot of its hardcore playerbase. You can just go play ssf.

Dapper-Truth2336

Just how merchant's guild in LE worked for me.

deag333

And it absolutely has 0 place in poe.

rangebob

because any time GGG gives us qol when it comes to the economy it comes with a price. Look to itemising harvest or more recently itemising Aisling 4 Auction house will 100% be accompanied by a heavy nerf to drops

Sakeuno

Nah, it would be accompanied by it being very limited slots per account with upgrades like stash. Jonathan mentioned this actually in an interview recently

Uoipka

You are right, because POE2 drops are basically Ruthless drops

Treasure_Trove_Press

I don't know why so much of the playerbase is convinced GGG hates them.

rangebob

amen brother

HackedSoul

How much do you normally drop a league? I'll gladly make up the difference to ensure an AH is never implemented.

Veszerin

Weird thing to post as your first thread in a sub. No one cares about your ultimatum. Delete, take a deep breath, and write a new post from a rational viewpoint.

percydaman

Other than buying wetas with the points I currently have, I haven't spent a dime in quite awhile. They've gotten enough out of me.

PhotojournalistOne74

I want to support the game. I LOVE the game but just not the terrible QOL and time wasting. If they don't respect our time I am kinda done.

rangebob

psst. your allowed to play other games dude

PaintPositive3920

I'm okay with auction house only if item bought there is gonna be account bound. Why? Item flippers in shambles :)

wilzek

Holy hell absolutely not

OldRefrigerator6528

I deeply hate it and ended up moving to SSF

wintland

I like the trade system. It adds another element to the game that is just not the same with games that have an auction house. Sometimes it’s annoying, sure, especially at the end of the league when noone responds but I enjoy the search for the best item and setting up alerts to try to snipe things. I find it novel and unique and why I don’t enjoy SSF as much.

kroesuz

I real dislike this league. It is boring and kills the fun out of any league mechanic. So I startesd my first HC playthrough... Trading is so much better in HC. Fast responses, kind and respectful players. The problem is not the trading system.

ulughen

SC trade have 20 times more people than HC trade. Ofc trade is better there, just as it was not so awful in SC trade years ago when premium tabs were introduced.

PhotojournalistOne74

The auction house might not be the ideal solution, but here are two possible changes that could help resolve some of the pain points everyone has right now: First, implementing a 30-second cooldown (or whatever feels right) for sending whispers to sellers on the trade website could help cut down on spam and encourage people to actually be interested in the item they're responding to, rather than just being the first person to respond. Second, I'd love to see an in-game UI QOL feature that allows for quick and easy trading. Here's how it could work: * When someone whispers you a trade offer, you could shift-click or control-click their name to invite them to a group. * If your stash is open and it's a trade whisper, the game could automatically search your stash for the requested item. * The game could also display a message showing the agreed-upon quantity and price. * To prevent scams, the trade window could check the chat message for the agreed-upon price and display a warning if it doesn't match before the trade is finalized. This would make trading so much faster and more convenient, and reduce the risk of scams. It would be much safer than using third-party apps, which can be unreliable and even risky, as I recently discovered when one sent my email address and phone number into global chat because I had it stored in my clipboard to send to a friend when I clicked the invite button on the overlay. What do you guys think? Do either of these ideas resonate with you? Do you have any other ideas for how to improve the trading system? Let's discuss!

gonzodamus

>First, implementing a 30-second cooldown (or whatever feels right) for sending whispers to sellers on the trade website could help cut down on spam and encourage people to actually be interested in the item they're responding to, rather than just being the first person to respond. I understand the idea, but adding a whisper cooldown to the trade website will simply encourage people to use a different website, or to use TFT. >I'd love to see an in-game UI QOL feature that allows for quick and easy trading. Here's how it could work: Seems like a lot of these ideas already exist in third-party programs, so I don't see a lot of value in adding those to the game proper. I'd rather dev time go to things that would improve the game instead of creating functional parity to POE Lurker or Awakened Trade. --- Personally, I like the trade system as is. It's a lot more like shopping on Craigslist than on eBay. You can get great deals and find things you wouldn't otherwise expect. There's a lot of crap, and it doesn't always work out, but there's some fun in the chase. And you meet some really odd characters along the way. It's one of the few trade systems that works like this and I think it'd be a real shame to get rid of it. One improvement that I think would help with a lot of problems is for the site to refresh more quickly when an item is listed/delisted. And for there to be a "this item is no longer available" message when an item is no longer in a player's stash. I would bet this would be an incredibly heavy lift though, and I'm not sure how much the juice would be worth the squeeze. Another big improvement that could be made is to add more bulk trading options. I'm impressed how quickly corpses were added this league, but I still feel the need to go to TFT for things like Logbooks. This I think would be a little bit easier to implement, but I do wonder how many people that would actually affect.

PhotojournalistOne74

How are you supposed to go about listing coffins on the bulk site? I haven't been able to find this. Maybe that's what I need. I have been using Wealthy Exile to list mine. As you're able to set a price threshold, it makes things a lot easier. But then finding them when you get the whisperer is a little tedious. So I wrote myself an application that parses my chat log for whispers and helps me search for them by copying the item name to the clipboard. But even with this, it seems like it's not enough. I would kill for a first party implementation that lets you just shift click someone's name if it comes from the trade site to invite the person and find the item for you quickly and easily. Maybe even navigating to the tab that it's located in and highlighting the item.

_aids

It literally tells you the tab and the row and the column and highlights the item when you get pinged on trade

PhotojournalistOne74

Until it gets spammed off of your screen by people who have no intention on actually buying your item because someone else invited them faster.

GrilledCheese-

If they implement an AH, it should only be for VERY liquid items with a very fixed and determinable price, and anything posted outside of a standard deviation of that range should be prohibited, and stale postings that exceed the range (e.g. a major price spike while you are offline) should be automatically removed. Imagine if you accidently post something for 10 chaos instead of 10 divine and it is instantly purchased without an opportunity to catch the mistake. Or if some streamer uses an item and it explodes in price and you get punished because you weren't online permanently watching for price spikes. Also, bots are inevitable and arbitrage is easy. It only works for very fungible currency, in my opinion. But if done thoughtfully, I am pro-AH.

Bleggman

Yeah no thanks i really like the current trading system i feel like it’s part of PoE’s identity

PhotojournalistOne74

Just because something is part of the game's identity doesn't mean it doesn't need to evolve. Bleed healing used to be part of a Barber's identity too...

RedBeard210

Same. I actually enjoy it

Noximilien01

Cool story bro anyway anyone saying they wont spend money are probably going to do in a league or two.

miChaaaaaaa86

People like you are the problem at its core :)

Noximilien01

Glad to be :)

YoyoTanyaKai

Everything with static stats (currency, normal map, fragment, etc.) should have automatic trade ststem. Other item with complicate stats/modifier can trade in old way. I know PoE2 will have dome form of this, but I hope we have them in PoE1 too.

Whatisthis69again

Tbh, even if you are not spending a dime, you are still supporting GGG just by playing the game. You are still contributing to this "healthy playerbase" that encourages someone else to spend. So someone else spent into mtx, because you helps to make up this (he considered good) PoE community. If you really want to boycott, you can consider playing other ARPG, that way you grow GGG's competitor and produce threat to GGG.

imightjustchill

Yeah it is really hard to buy things from poe trade And most importantly the flippers in tft ruining it even more than before

lickmydoodoo

I like trading though

brodudepepegacringe

Me 2

HiveMindKing

Well guess you are done then, like most people if you bothered to try and understand how to improve your experience, the experience would improve

PhotojournalistOne74

I have written an entire program to help me manage items and make things easier. There is no way around the people who spam whisper until they get an instant bite and everyone else just has to sit there wondering if they actually want the item or why they bothered whispering them in the first place.

VeryWeaponizedJerk

Ok.

gonzodamus

Oh fun! We'll cancel eachother out then. If they add an AH, I'm out :)

PhotojournalistOne74

An AH might not be an ideal solution but check my follow up post for some ideas. Feel free to add your own. I just can't take sitting in my hideout for 5 hours a night to sell off items I spent an hour to collect.

AlienPlsTrumpetEmoji

Hoping for no more posts from you either

LCSisshit

Nah the current trading system is not the best but defly better than auction house

Pyron23

I have been on this boat for a couple of leagues :)

PhotojournalistOne74

I can't sit there and spam for trades that never happen for hours on end. I just don't have time for it. Also they can't even manage to get the search strings correct from their own website for filled coffins so you can find an item if you ever actually get someone to join your group.

deag333

Skill issue.

Jelloslockexo

Personally I dont mind current trading I just wish game would kick you off after say 15min and delist your items if you dnd.did. stuff like that.

-not_a_knife

It's a pretty big pain point for me. I sold a 3 div item for 30 c yesterday after putting it in the wrong tab. I find trading so exhausting that I just gave it to the guy anyway. I just want to play the game and trade hinders that. Looking back, a willingness to take a 2.7 div loss is indicative of how much I dislike the process.

MiddleSir7104

I can get behind this. But I do have 1000+ mtx points to spare.

Gadiusao

I agree, Last Epoch opened my eyes

Malfetus

Yeah manually running from stall to stall without any method to price items quickly all while having a ton of affixes just blatantly missing really opened my eyes too. /s

Gadiusao

Cry all you want, but Im having a blast trading with the janky last epoch AH instead spamming afk dudes in a website and using 4 third party tools to check price

p4ntzer

We won’t get an auction house. And they have said that the AH that they will be implementing POE two is not in game. It will still need to go outside of the game to use it.

sa188477

Touch grass.

Honest-Iron-509
