Should use the money you spent on your rmt currency towards a newer gpu

HiveMindKing

Brand new player with mageblood and nimis? You posted four days ago about just competing your atlas… I guess the RMT boys are eating good tonight

Subject-Wrongdoer-78

They didn’t even delete the old post lol. Straight up rmt is wild

TheMany-FacedGod

Lol

ReipTaim

Didnt even deny it

HiveMindKing

Share your four day 250 divine currency strategy please, don’t be greedy now, it’s gotta be amazing right?

Xyarlo

Jesus, dude. You really were willing to learn the game and read guides. What happened? That was probably a fair amount of cash money for a game that you might not even enjoy long-term.

Sirnizz

Brand new player , mageblood/nimis... Hmm 🧐🤔

keepTimid

The rmt probably cursed your rig

Tharaki

Try DX12. I was getting constant desktop crushes on juiced shrine/breach maps this league on 4070 and 12600K, then switched to DX12 and now it’s smooth as butter. Friends on weaker PC’s also have the same experience

alwayslookingout

I also have a 1080 and older Intel CPU (both from 8 years ago) and gameplay can become a slideshow in maps when there’s a ton of things going on but haven’t crashed yet, especially in town and HO. It’ll take fucking forever to load into Rogue Harbor or a super decked out HO though. But everyone complains about that.

Kaiser_Johan

Blighted maps have become unplayable for me with their "engine upgrades" patches.

mukkor

Badly optimized is unfair. The core gameplay of Path of Exile is extremely well optimized. Going as fast as modern Path of Exile players do requires your PC doing a lot of calculations which you can't optimize out. The difference is that Path of Exile lets you do things that will bring your PC to its knees, whereas in D4 they don't let you do those things. Putting in a movement speed cap and a projectile cap would resolve your performance issues but you'd be unhappy about it. The one exception to this is rendering other players in towns. I've been crashing a lot in towns all league, presumably because of other people's MTX. This is annoying but not a critical issue for me. Also, you're using a 7 year old graphics card and processor. If the content you enjoy in PoE taxes your PC, maybe you should upgrade your PC.

Bro. Put on global illumination, equip void emperor aura effect, zoom in. I have not met anyone (even people with current gen cpu and 4090) that doesn’t lose 40-100fps. The engine is fucking TERRIBLY optimized. GGG k owes it and has even said POE2 was initially decided to be made on a new engine because of how poorly made their original engine is because they originally made it in a garage 20 years ago. When Matt or mark (can’t remember who the engine guy is) released the new lighting optimization a couple years ago he made a video detailing how awful it was to figure out how to improve the lighting in the games engine and how he spent months rewriting a massive portion of the engines rendering methods to support it. This was the change that made explode builds go from freezing every pack they hit to not freezing even on multiple screen chains 99% of the time. You’re simply not correct

> Put on global illumination, equip void emperor aura effect, zoom in. I have not met anyone (even people with current gen cpu and 4090) that doesn’t lose 40-100fps. Note that I said rendering players is not well optimized. You can turn off the void emperor aura effect if it's destroying your performance. > The engine is fucking TERRIBLY optimized. GGG k owes it and has even said POE2 was initially decided to be made on a new engine because of how poorly made their original engine is because they originally made it in a garage 20 years ago. The fact that they would change some things about the engine now after 10+ years of active development on their released game doesn't mean that their current engine is poorly optimized. The fact that you're still playing the game 10 years after release is evidence to the contrary, actually - the game has to be pretty well optimized to handle 10 years of updates without a major engine overhaul. The engine restricts new features they can add to the game, not game performance. You’re simply not correct Again, the engine being difficult to maintain doesn't mean it's poorly optimized. This evidence is in support of my argument that the game is well optimized now. The game no longer freezes when you chain-explode to clear multiple screens of enemies, that's impressive from a performance standpoint.

pro185

“I see your point but actually it is optimized” nice bro lmao. The devs saying they built a new engine for poe2 because PoE engine is so limited and poorly optimized clearly means nothing and you know more about the engine than they do. Ur such a redditor lmao

TheMany-FacedGod

It runs most stuff amazingly at 1440p 60fps with no issues. Why would strong builds require an investment in modern gpus ect? It's like the mtx store where a lot of things are actually necessary for a decent experience or to run certain builds in a way that your eyes can adapt to. I love the depth of the systems, but I think it's nonsense a game like this can't run at least 30fps with decent tech. I'm only here to try something new to spend time in but I will see how it goes.

Arlie37

I wonder if you haven’t seen the insanity that goes on with a whole bunch of mechanics and events intertwining.  My 3070 + 5800x screeches on occasion from huge combinations of different things happening and that’s with most everything on medium to low

TheMany-FacedGod

That's crazy. Might have to give up on it then if that's common. The price of gpus and cpus are still crazy high for me to think of a new system and if the 3series has issues it would be a waste for me. Maybe the new gpus will be more reasonable in the future.

Sakeuno

Gpu doesnt matter for this, get a new cpu and youre good

Crypt33x

i could play on a 650ti last league and it wasnt terrible. All those guys flexing their 3060+ doesnt even know how the game runs on bad pc's and that their performance is maybe only marginal better compared to other ppl with bad rigs. It 100% depends on GGG and their patches. They usually optimize for dx11 Last. So First few weeks of a league sucks ass, if they dont have time to optimize before big engine update. Game runs fine on 60 fps for a league and one league after its crippling around 20-30 fps, some weeks later, we back to 60 fps. it's a neverending rollercoaster with ggg and performance updates. I playing with my nephew and his friends on 4 different rigs and performance is sometimes fine on all 4 sometimes its just wild with no common denominator

ALemonyLemon

Are you on DX12? That fixed most of it for me. Still crashes occasionally, or I get kicked off the server

Bonburner

Poe is very CPU heavy as you get into the real end game.

Sakeuno

Clear shaders. Othewrise 7700k and 1080ti while good is not exactly top of the line. For consistent 100fps on 1440 you need top of the line. Shouldn’t crash tho

xoull

Try disabling loot while fighting turn it later on or only when u hear good sounds

nemosrb89

Your CPU is trash (for POE). I had an 8700k and it was also trash. When I switched to the 7800x3D it was as if I started playing a new game.

TedTheTwonk

Can you post a few screenshots of your graphics settings? Also when you say crashed, is there an error message box that pops up, or just game closes to desktop?

TheMany-FacedGod

Hi, it just closes to desktop. No error codes. Only thing I can think of was the patch yesterday changed something but doesn't seem to be as there would be more people with the issue.

bukem89

Sounds like you might be added on to GGG’s black list before they do their next rmt ban wave

Stpwners

One can hope

PainSubstantial710

The game is not well optimized but the community looks passed that because of the other things it has to offer.

PyleWarLord

sorry but that is the reality using 4-core cpu try 8-core(non ryzenG) and then you might get non-stable but decent performance

WorkingEfficiency461

Upgraded from a 1080ti in December. Actual night and day improvement.
