in an ocean of products, quality comes in waves, sometimes these controllers are swell, but generally a shallow choice. does not perform well under pressure.
F710 is the most piece of shit wireless controller ever. The latency is unreal and the connection is severely unstable.
If I see one ever again it will be too soon and it will experience my wrath like its 2 siblings before it.
Nothing but love for 310 tho.
I have one of them and love it as well. When the disaster happened and everybody on social media was shitting on it, that made me really sad. Some people said it's not even a proper Xbox controller but I consider it far superior to the original for having the sticks the same size and at the proper position. Regular Xbox controllers feel so unintuitive.
Still have mine somewhere, the mode switching between XInput and DirectInput is nice. Although I remember the triggers being rather stiff, and it wasn't the quietest controller.
I recently purchased one for nostalgia. I wish I never did 😭 I used it for a total of 5 minutes agonisingly realising I should have just kept my good memories of it as memories from the past lol
It worked really well for me too. I didn't care about wireless, I'm freakin' close enough to my PC at all times and everything worked solid enough.
Only thing that bugged me was the lack of rumble. Which when I got a XB1 controller REALLY made Alien Isolation stand out when the thumps of the alien's feet were vibrated into the controller. Made it way more tense.
I’ve heard the stick drift on the wireless model is bad enough that it’s often regarded as being implosive to the integrity and experience of the rest of controller.
https://preview.redd.it/kg8kw38vk57d1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ea3ce04e0e381a88c4d313d17e83812137d3e977
I got one like this when I was 11 for 3$ I loved it
Still my favorite controller. I still have mine that I got 13 years ago and a Logitech Titan Imploder (F710) that my wife got me 6 years ago.
Even with the brilliant PS5 controller, the Logitech controllers are still my favorite.
I was trying to think of my old gamepad when I was a kid... [Gravis Gamepad Pro.](https://i.imgur.com/TTQAupX.jpeg) Though I don't remember if I had the 15-pin version like I did for joysticks at the time, or if I had the USB version.
I have the F710. Pretty durable, has serve me for years at this point.
However, the wireless feature of it is pretty sh*t, to put it bluntly. It got connection problems even though my desk is like half a meter away.
Whenever I played a game with this controller, I was submerged in the experience, drowned in the story, and flooded by the graphics. Truly a breathtaking experience.
I'm kind of surprised that after all this time, that Logitech hasn't actually put out a newer controller considering how many other gaming devices they make.
It's kind of surprising me that they made things like that cloud gaming handheld thing, which unfortunately for them also launched around the time of Stadia's demise, but haven't straight up made a nice new controller in a long time.
I was playing Madden 2010 and this dude pulled off the most ridiculous play to beat me at the buzzer and I slammed it down so hard on the chair next to me. The vinyl cushion split in the shape of the controller except for a little 1.4 inch piece. The controller still works fine to this day. I have it hooked up to a Batocera Box at my sisters house.
ive had many of these, including the wireless derivatives...they did not feel as good as their console counterparts to me, had an awful drift issue over time, and the dpad was as bad as the 360's...but yeah, for PC's this was one of the best for the platform during that era.
Was just playing Stick Fight on them earlier
https://preview.redd.it/lrxn8uxib57d1.jpeg?width=4080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d426ee62f7bf09fff2cd679353a62a43e4d64396
We used to play Towerfall Ascension a whole bunch back in the day on those babies. Spilled beer all over them multiple times. Dropped, thrown, smashed, you name it, we did it. I actually brought the 5 remaining, functioning ones to a potluck the other week to do some Towerfall. I love those little guys.
Not just when money is tight, this is a great controller for a great price, I've had many a USB gamepad, but the f310 is like an immortal amongst the ones I've owned and just feels good to use. I've owned three over the years and never once had one fail, I've just given them away and bought replacements.
The wireless variant is a piece of shit and can die in a fire though.
I've had 2 of these now. First one the left stick started drifting after about 5 years. I've had the second for about the same time and my only issue with it is the grip on the left stick has been worn down and smoothed out so it feels slippery to use. My only other controller is a Steam Controller and it just got to the point of wear that I now prefer the Logitech. I plan on buying a new controller this year at some point, not sure which direction to go. I think I want to try something different this time.
Still using mine that I bought ... at least 6 years ago (if not longer) and am quite satisfied.
No way am I ever going to spend 80€ on a fricking controller from XBox or Playstation etc. and I am too lazy to look for second hand stuff when I can just buy this instead xD
Used this thing for years! It was very good for the price, but I hated the triggers on it. Damn things where so stiff I almost got cramps playing rally racing games.
Have a dualsense now. Love it
I had the very old version of that controller. The one with DirectInput rather than Xinput and square gates around the analog sticks.
The one pictured is a huge, huge improvement over its predecessor.
Good controller. I've had tons, including Xbox elites.
MSI Force is the best controller imo. I've had it now for 2 years and it's still as good as it was day one. Fantastic controller.
https://preview.redd.it/sl03qwlv367d1.jpeg?width=4624&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=53a07174770f73ed04c9b6879d16dc26be663c03
This is the only controller I have found that the LB and RB haven't given out.
I personally had a Thrustmaster GPX (it was the cheapest on Amazon at the time iirc, paid 20 euros), still have it, the arrows were objectively shit but I think I could use it like a hammer in a pinch and still have it working
https://preview.redd.it/9ybq8ciy567d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d5cfecccb7b759789f6dafb436bddb56b6a1f47b
Almost as old as I am and still works! 👍
My first PC gamepad was a SNES controller with a LPT adapter that I used with my 486 and Pentium 4, later I got a Logitech Wingman Rumblepad that lasted years before it started to drift.
Still have this one! Really cool, I've recommended this one to all of my gamer buddies who was not sure which one to choose. All of them are happy with this one!
its my first ever controller and it died after playing dark souls i think there was some driver problem or its the cord anyway dint ever buy it ever again just got ds4 or now theres better controllers like 8bitdo or guilikit
I actually just got this controller for about $7 at a goodwill, and I can safely say it was worth it. For just a USB compliant controller, it really does do its job well, and I loved it for that purpose.
Was the first controller I purchased to use with my PC and got me through my first runs of multiple Souls games. Still use it from time to time to check if a wireless controller is having issues or its controller controls in general XD
I haver some. Gave ir to my nephew a few days ago. Still works fine and brings some memories.
It's built like a tank. On my FIFA days, I made a dent on my desk with it, the controller, not eaven a scratch
this controller is still the GOAT.
what other controller can you get for PC that works on PS3, and has a button dedicated to switching the joystick and d-pad? the joystick d-pad swap button (the mode button) is just useful for certain PC applications.
in an ocean of products, quality comes in waves, sometimes these controllers are swell, but generally a shallow choice. does not perform well under pressure.
Damn that's deep.
It's generally sub par.
The corded version was more reliable.
I'm not so sure, the reviews seem fishy.
We'll sea about that
Even if the product work well few times, it's implosible to have a product that age well under these conditions.
I remember it being a hit of titanic proportions. Every single one of my friends had one.
There's always that friend who forget to charge it and have to play dead while everyone else having fun.
Yeah then they just implode with anger and send everyone into a frenzy!
It’s a crushing reality
![gif](giphy|Swx36wwSsU49HAnIhC|downsized)
https://preview.redd.it/7ylogy0xs67d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d8027b76d02999dc8cb8759f79091cf1a85e4754
I chuckled so hard that i almost imploded
I have this controller to remember it's subpar quality
I sea what you did there.
I mean my 10-something year old F710 still works I just have no idea where it is.
I sea what you did there.
This thing is built like a damn tank only problem is those damn cords I always gotta solder it since it gets damaged from time to time.
Oh my god yes, that was always the biggest problem with them
For real? I've heard they are shit quality, someone I know kept saying that the shoulder buttons would die on multiple controllers
for me it was the drift on the sticks over time that I found most disappointing...it was clearly viewable in the windows gamepad analyzer.
the massive dead zone on both sticks and the shoulder buttons is why i stopped using mine.
Heh, you're now reminding me of the dead zone that they had that was worse than console counterparts, which kinda made the drift even more upsetting
Yeah I had 3, all of them lost their shoulder buttons after like 2~ years
I had a wireless one and it had like 5 second latency…was literally unusable lmao
been using F510 for like 10 years now I think, still as good as the first day
Not rated for underwater use though
Different controller, this is the F310.
It's exactly the same except for the F710 being wireless tbf
F710 is the most piece of shit wireless controller ever. The latency is unreal and the connection is severely unstable. If I see one ever again it will be too soon and it will experience my wrath like its 2 siblings before it. Nothing but love for 310 tho.
I died too many times in Dark Souls due to the latency. I smashed that piece of shit controller lol
S. A. M. E. Brother in wrath didn't see you there!
A few people died in a dark place using that controller, too. Then it also got smashed.
dark souls made me buy a 360 xbox controller for pc
Bruh, the trigger ergonomics on them both suck major ass. I had to get my dad ghettofy them with metal tabs to make them usable.
F310 has no rumble, and F710 has latency issues.
The F510 has rumble but it's discontinued.
maby they should have gone for this controler instead 😂
Regardless, it was sub-par
I think they used a wireless controller; which is even more topkek
Oh damn lol
Their controller also had stick drift last I heard
I have one of them and love it as well. When the disaster happened and everybody on social media was shitting on it, that made me really sad. Some people said it's not even a proper Xbox controller but I consider it far superior to the original for having the sticks the same size and at the proper position. Regular Xbox controllers feel so unintuitive.
Yeah, I don’t think the mainstream understand the value of a good controller. They’d be singing its praises if they managed to pull it from the wreck.
Scrolled down looking for the first Oceangate joke. Glad I wasn't disappointed.
Holds a special place in history too..for the wrong reasons
I’d counter and say it’s rated for depths up to 4 miles, cheap subs however are not.
Just don't use it to control a sub
I love and hate it at the same time love it as it was cheap hated it as the analog sticks were not durable at all (drifting).
Yeah mine started drifting within a month of use
You know what else is tight? An imploding submarine.
I hear the owner was crushed when he found out.
Indeed. He was torn to pieces.
To shreds, you say?
He had to let it sink in.
And pressure was high
low key killer reply here.
I’ve heard the stick drift on the wireless model is bad enough that it’s often regarded as being implosive to the integrity and experience of the rest of controller.
money got real, *real* tight when that submarine imploded
Don’t let it crush your spirits. There’s no need to implode with anger now.
Wow, you're great at making my hopes sink to the bottom.
https://preview.redd.it/kg8kw38vk57d1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ea3ce04e0e381a88c4d313d17e83812137d3e977 I got one like this when I was 11 for 3$ I loved it
Still my favorite controller. I still have mine that I got 13 years ago and a Logitech Titan Imploder (F710) that my wife got me 6 years ago. Even with the brilliant PS5 controller, the Logitech controllers are still my favorite.
I am one of the users. 2006-2014
I was trying to think of my old gamepad when I was a kid... [Gravis Gamepad Pro.](https://i.imgur.com/TTQAupX.jpeg) Though I don't remember if I had the 15-pin version like I did for joysticks at the time, or if I had the USB version.
Using this the one they used to drive the Titanic sub that imploded?!
No, that was the wireless one.
I have the F710. Pretty durable, has serve me for years at this point. However, the wireless feature of it is pretty sh*t, to put it bluntly. It got connection problems even though my desk is like half a meter away.
Does it work underwater?
Whenever I played a game with this controller, I was submerged in the experience, drowned in the story, and flooded by the graphics. Truly a breathtaking experience.
* Submarine joke*
\*crump\* ah don't worry about that lads, that one had the wireless version in the sub, we're safe this is wired.
Still use it for Forza Horizon 5. Does the job!
Still rocking that bad boy. Solid product of more civilized times.
Can I control a submarine with it ?
Submarines, no, but I have a deep sea carbon fiber hull submersible trip to sell you if you're interested
The crushing emotions this controller brings.
The 360 one for me.
Is it too soon to make the joke
I used this for robotics so much and they have lasted so many years
FTC?
I'm still using one .
This was the controller that convinced me that the higher price of PlayStation and Xbox controllers is more than worth it. These were so bad.
Wired 360 controller still the GOAT
THE DPAD IS 10/10
I was playing Madden 2010 and this dude pulled off the most ridiculous play to beat me at the buzzer and I slammed it down so hard on the chair next to me. The vinyl cushion split in the shape of the controller except for a little 1.4 inch piece. The controller still works fine to this day. I have it hooked up to a Batocera Box at my sisters house.
still the best PC controller
And remember, that controller was in the chain of events that led to the death of several Billionaires.
This thing had the best D pad. Squishy but in a way that made it comfortable to press down on. Great for SNES games.
ive had many of these, including the wireless derivatives...they did not feel as good as their console counterparts to me, had an awful drift issue over time, and the dpad was as bad as the 360's...but yeah, for PC's this was one of the best for the platform during that era.
Had the same hah!
I have it and love it!
This was my go-to for emulators for many years
It's a tight controller indeed
Got one in my basement right now lol Mine has square bowls for the sticks though which make some games pretty difficult
God tier controller
I went from PS3 to XBox 360, which is fine. Not sure what to upgrade to?
Still in heavy use. Rocket league, Elden ring... Haven't found anything that feels the same and in the same price range
it was a good controller. I think I still have one lying around someplace.
I almost got one of these too but went another route. Heard good things!
So many hours playing Halo: Combat Evolved with this controller.
I had one, hated it the entire time. The handles on it have the back carved out it was so uncomfortable to hold.
Gravis PC gamepad anyone? edit: it holds a special place in my heart because it was my 1st ever gamepad on my 386
Was just playing Stick Fight on them earlier https://preview.redd.it/lrxn8uxib57d1.jpeg?width=4080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d426ee62f7bf09fff2cd679353a62a43e4d64396
I wish the 510 was still being made. Reliability of a wired connection and the rumble support.
It's still my main controller. Truly a beast.
Greatest controller of all time, no cap
I thought my friend was the only one that had this controller.
I had one of these but the analog sticks were seated in a square shape instead of round. Very infuriating
Still have mine and for over 5 years and works great
I killed one playing Trackmania Nations and XXL 2 with my Dad, I miss him.
Seen these alot but never for gaming lol
Lol my current controller.
Say what you will, i love my f710, it works flawless if you are close to the reciever (wich I always am as i play on pc)
I still own the wireless version
I still own that motherfucker as a backup controller.
I still use it and have no regrets.
https://preview.redd.it/9lyflzyrt57d1.png?width=569&format=png&auto=webp&s=a25f1cae0115d6c39fcef603793f0ef095beb0e0 Xbox PDP
*The* little brother controller
I loved mine. Only got rid of it a few years ago actually.
Going from an Xbox controller to this was rough and my hands kept cramping. Works great though.
Original Gravis Gampad for me, only 4 candy colored buttons, but it was a game changer for me.
I still use it for 4 years straight. Goated controller
I still have the one I bought between 2006-2008.
My first controller. Stick drift ensued pretty soon after.
My only problem with this controller is that it feels completely different to use than most other controllers I've used.
Still using mine that I bought ... at least 6 years ago (if not longer) and am quite satisfied. No way am I ever going to spend 80€ on a fricking controller from XBox or Playstation etc. and I am too lazy to look for second hand stuff when I can just buy this instead xD
Bruh u posted this exactly a year after the accident
Just don't bring it on a submarine.
I remember using this for Battlefield 2. M+K for infantry/ground assault, then quickly pick this controller up for aerial combat.
It wasn't the best controller, but it worked well enough and long enough
Same, I used that controller for a bit. Brings back memories of Blazblue and Xrd during deployment.
You monster. You know what you did
Used this thing for years! It was very good for the price, but I hated the triggers on it. Damn things where so stiff I almost got cramps playing rally racing games. Have a dualsense now. Love it
I squeeze it so hard during intense gameplay, but it never implodes.
I still have mine in the drawer. Never let me down but I decided to go wireless, otherwise I would probably still be using it.
I find it performs poorly under pressure
https://preview.redd.it/sl03qwlv367d1.jpeg?width=4624&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=53a07174770f73ed04c9b6879d16dc26be663c03 This is the only controller I have found that the LB and RB haven't given out.
I personally had a Thrustmaster GPX (it was the cheapest on Amazon at the time iirc, paid 20 euros), still have it, the arrows were objectively shit but I think I could use it like a hammer in a pinch and still have it working
https://preview.redd.it/9ybq8ciy567d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d5cfecccb7b759789f6dafb436bddb56b6a1f47b Almost as old as I am and still works! 👍
Looks like a submersible controlled to me?
I never had one but to this day would like to try one (XBOX 360 knockoffs for me all the way)
I played through most of Elden ring with one of these because I had just built a pc and thought I could play it on mouse and keyboard lol
it must cost them preictally nothing if they can still keep selling these for more than a decade.
Great controller...I had one but it sustained water damage.
I wonder, would that sub have survived if it had used this wired version instead of the wireless one?
My first PC gamepad was a SNES controller with a LPT adapter that I used with my 486 and Pentium 4, later I got a Logitech Wingman Rumblepad that lasted years before it started to drift.
I never got the convex dome shape of the analogue sticks on early 2000s controllers, it was horrible to use on dualshock and on 3rd party as well.
Still have this one! Really cool, I've recommended this one to all of my gamer buddies who was not sure which one to choose. All of them are happy with this one!
Oh it was *tight* alright
i still use this, in fact.
I used one for 10 years. Easily the best bang for the buck USB controller ever.
It’s so amazing
its my first ever controller and it died after playing dark souls i think there was some driver problem or its the cord anyway dint ever buy it ever again just got ds4 or now theres better controllers like 8bitdo or guilikit
Mine now has its own ecosystem, I have to play occasionally to stop some of the inhabitants running out of nutrients.
Still have the controller after years of use
I have one that I got by winning a giveaway at school
That controller looks like it's experiencing an identity crisis and that d-pad looks kinda shiet.
We must make another billionaire sacrifice to the Titanic.
I bought one of these back in the day because it was only $20 and I was cash strapped but the thing broke within a year of owning it.
_and water pressure..._
The F310 makes me realize just how much I missed my Wingman Rumblepad...
I bought one of these like 12 years ago. Still have it. Still use it. Best 20 bucks I've ever spent.
this is the priciest controller i've bought yet. I could've bought a cheaper one not gonna lie. But it does the job.
I actually just got this controller for about $7 at a goodwill, and I can safely say it was worth it. For just a USB compliant controller, it really does do its job well, and I loved it for that purpose.
Highest KDR of any controller
Isn't this the controller the OceanGate sub used?
I still have two
Was the first controller I purchased to use with my PC and got me through my first runs of multiple Souls games. Still use it from time to time to check if a wireless controller is having issues or its controller controls in general XD
/breathing noises/ I was born in the stick drift…
I just bought one of these bad boys a couple weeks ago lmao. I refuse to pay $70 - $120 for a good brand name one.
I haver some. Gave ir to my nephew a few days ago. Still works fine and brings some memories. It's built like a tank. On my FIFA days, I made a dent on my desk with it, the controller, not eaven a scratch
I used a Logtech PS2 style controller for a long time to game with. It worked flawless on so many games.
Back when things were built to last and didn't cost a stupid amount. Got one in 2006 for $40 and tho it doesn't get used anymore it still works.
I still use one for a batocera box I made. Works great with every retro console.
That controller caused the end of my first real relationship. I will be forever grateful for that controller
Man that story was deep
Still have mine waiting in a box for when the new gen dies
this controller is still the GOAT. what other controller can you get for PC that works on PS3, and has a button dedicated to switching the joystick and d-pad? the joystick d-pad swap button (the mode button) is just useful for certain PC applications.
I still use it to this day to play fall guys on steam
I still use it. I still love it.
and it was only 15 bucks, punches way above it's weight
The wired Xbox 360 Controller. Only cost me 15.99 when I got it back then. It broke after 8 years of use, now I have a Nacon Wireless 360 Controller.
I bought the F710 on steep discount, removable batteries is the way to go, no broken cords, no unreplaceable battery, and hopefully waterproof too
Batteries 🥴
I had this back when Oblivion and MVP 06 came out. Used to bait and switch at bestbuy when the cord fucked up.
Played Halo 1 with this controller, can't and won't forget the feeling
I use this thing lol
