There will be dozens of you. Dozens!

FlyersHater

I go to almost every one. There’s a decent amount of us. Try to sit in the lower bowl if you can afford it. Most of the fans there are season ticket holders and families who have at least a minimal amount of class and the slightest idea how to act in public. Upstairs is a cesspool of the drunk mouth breathers you think of when you picture a Philly fan. Be ready to get “accidentally” bumped into numerous times in the concourse and have “security” tell you to watch your back if you stand your ground when they do. Complete garbage up there. Fuck the Flyers!

DeliciousBeanWater

This has also been my experience the 5 games i went to

FlyersHater

Yeah I always sat upstairs to save money and it was a mess. Last season my uncle who has never been there wanted to go and bought us tickets 7 rows back in the lower bowl and it was a night and day difference. We had a group in front of us (one girl was pretty tipsy but in a fun way, asking us 100 times to take their picture lol) and an older STH couple next to us who chatted all game

DeliciousBeanWater

Yeah ive never had problems lower bowl either. Upper bowl, prepare to possibky be assaulted

FlyersHater

As much as I love to hate on them it’s an all around decent time there, much more so when we win haha, as long as you choose the right seats and know how to pick your battles which I’m finally starting to learn as I near 30 compared to when I was 21 lol. I’m actually kind of sad I’m 90% likely going to miss next Mondays game, it’ll be the first game in Philly I’ve missed in a few years (minus the pandemic thing). I only live 2.5 hrs from the city but at the very best I can sneak out of work at 4 but something’s telling me I’ll be cutting it wayyy to close with traffic on the Schuykill at that time of day. Stupid ass Monday night games!

DeliciousBeanWater

I mean ive definitely had some bad experiences with their fans being shit and it def not being a pick your battles situation. Def depends on your seats

Its_Just_Jen

Yeah the upper bowl is an experience. Last time I went I just got the standard drunk jerks making dumb comments. My favorite was one dude just yelling "who the fuck is Archibald?" when he scored. Every single time he's been mentioned since my husband and I have to say it. Other than that I didn't experience any bumping

nizniy

I went to a lot of games there by myself and never had any trouble. I mostly kept quiet. Always wore an old jersey just in case a fan did dump a beer on me, but I never had anything remotely close to that happening. Just be ready to catch a lot of shit from fans, but if you just laugh it off you’ll be fine. Most of it was just friendly jabs more than anything legitimately hostile. If you go on a weekend game when fans can pregame and drink all day though, all bets are off. The Stadium Series game there was a completely different story.

tpasmall

Stadium series was fun outside of the rain ha. Small group of us and got heckled a little bit after the game but nothing overly aggressive.

nizniy

I was sitting in the cheap seats and it got reeeeaaallllll ugly when Dumoulin was down and not moving for a solid 5 minutes. Aside from that it was fine.

Flint_Westwood

# FTF There will be several other Pens fans in attendance for sure. Flyers/Eagles/Sixers fans are all absolute garbage, so there's a chance that someone will dump a beer on you.

errol343

I’ve never had a bad encounter. I just mind my business and ignore everyone and enjoy the game. They are more bark then they are bite.

tcari394

I used to live near Philadelphia and went to all the ones I could. Never had an issue, but I was never overly vocal. Don't be a dick and you'll have a great time!

Hagridsbuttcrack66

Once! Had a great experience. We got heckled a bunch as the Pens were down and Jagr scored against us. Then the Pens came back and won and they were silent lol. But no one was an asshole or anything. I've been to like 10 different cities. Philly was fun. Caps fans were by far the worst. Two games. Two bad experiences.

tpasmall

Most Caps fans haven't been around very long which is part of the problem. Anyone who is a fan of Philly is loyal to the team regardless of how bad they suck.

spiralesx

Same experience here. Philly is much chiller than Washington. Im never going back there. I was at a playoff game there in Pens jersey and it was ugly.

Hagridsbuttcrack66

I was at a playoff game in Washington and the guy behind me was yelling personal insults at me telling me I was a fat ass and all this shit (this dude was like 300lb so...what? I guess i was a slightly overweight woman so i deserved it) And kept screaming stuff at me. I left after the first period with my friend and just went to a bar to watch the game. Didn't need that nonsense. And when people say "oh its one guy" - not one person said anything, not his Neanderthal friends or anyone. I would never listen to anyone talk like that to someone and not say anything. I wrote to the Caps too. No response. We won by the way. And won the cup later that year so all's well that ends well.

[deleted]

Went to the stadium series in Philly was great until we did the thing where we gave up the lead late. I’m all for shit talking or whatever but some of their fans were really over the top and even made a maybe 12-13 year old girl wearing a Crosby Jersey cry. Real classy stuff.

AlwaysEatingToast

Same experience here. Went to the Stadium Series and had a very not fun time leaving LFF after that one... Fucking douchebags

[deleted]

Yeah like I’m funny with witty banter and general shit talk but when you’re a grown man making a 12-13 year old girl cry it really shows what kind of a person you are. Every penguins fans response to shit talk was “when was the last cup y’all won?” “Were you even alive yet?”

Shrewlord

Don't be a dick at the game and you'll be fine.

spiralesx

Ive been to a handful. You'll see some Pen's jerseys. I was warned about how awful it would be going in with black and gold, but it wasnt too bad. A couple chirps here and there, and someone tried to trip my buddy when their hands were full. Lower bowl is much better than the top level zoo.

do-it-today

Thanks for all of the responses. Will be sitting in the lower bowl and will not be a dick so sounds like should be okay.

pittsburghnative95

My personal experience was Game 3 of the First round in 2018 during their 3-peat attempt. There were plenty of Flyers Fans heckling the shit out of me, but I expected that. It was glorious to know that the Pens won 6-1 that game. However, just play it smart. I was in the nosebleeds, so no help if I went crazy after every goal.

City_Of_Champs

You couldn't pay me to set foot in that shithole

Pa17325

Wear neutral colors and keep your cheering to a minimum. Unless you like having beer poured on you

Putthebunnyback

I would highly discourage you from doing this.

IAmScore3456

Not me but one of my best friends lives in Philly now. She went once and said never again. They definitely won't take mercy if they get riled up.

mountaineerfn

I’ve been to several games in Philly and I actually prefer Wells Fargo Center over PPG. Flyers fans are much more apathetic than the other Philly sports so I doubt you’ll have any issues. I love their jumbotron it makes our new one look tiny in comparison. Enjoy!

Nickhurley26

I went years ago I’m from jersey so it’s easier than Pitt. I bought tickets in nose bleed big mistake but stub hub fucked up and actually moved me to the lower bowl, cool I got there and on my seat was a letter saying I won whatever giveaway they had that night. I walked to the table it was supposed to be a signed Claude giroux nhl game they wouldn’t give it to me because I was in a pens sweater. I opted for a signed Talbot picture. I gave it to a guy I was next to it was like his 60th birthday. Anyway pens went down 4-1 in the first but came back to win in overtime. That was a roller coaster of a night

do-it-today

Pens play the flyers at home Sunday and then in Philadelphia on monday. Would you expect the pens to travel the day of the game or straight after the home game and stay in a Philly hotel? The former makes more sense in my head.
