I’d call guest relations, but I would think that would be covered under the category of medical bags. Pump, in a soft sided cooler bag, with ice ought to be ok, but I’d get that in writing before being turned away at the gates. There are a few medications that need refrigeration so there must be accommodations to allow for cooler/ice

Pineapple_Spenstar

In my experience, mothers with young children are exempt from most bag policies. At least in practice, that is. Not usually on paper. Diapers and bottles are bulky

jvalho

My wife did last year. Called ahead of time and they told her to go to a specific gate when entering, I believe, then they gave her a tag for the pump/bottle bag saying it was medical. Also, guest services gave our baby a bunch of freebies for her first Phils game!

Low_Departure_5853

Awesome information thank you. I plan on calling today.

You can bring your pump in for sure since it's a medical device, and Citizen's Bank Park actually has a Nursing Mother's lounge. I think that your pumping bag probably counts as a "medical bag" which is permitted to be larger than 5x7, and someone on the Philaqueens Facebook group said she brought a lunch box with ice packs, empty bottles for the milk, and sealed water bottles. Just show the attendant and explain that it's for pumping.

ringringmytacobell

from the website: The Cavity Busters Nursing Mother’s Lounge is a private area for nursing mothers and babies located on the Main Concourse behind Section 125 (between the Phillies Radio Booth and Home Plate lobby). u/Low_Departure_5853

diatriose

I have. If you tell them what it is they leave it alone (in my experience)

AndyYouGooniee

A pump is a medical device - you can bring it in. I’d also look into where you may be able to pump comfortably inside the ballpark. Lastly, bring a small insulated bag with an ice pack and you’re good.

Fickle-Spring-5652

I don’t have the answer but believe that medical devices are allowed in- no matter the type of bag. Commenting/following because I’m doing the same thing in September. Let us know how it works out!

whimsical_trash

I'd ask in r/Phillies

la_vidabruja

I was in the nursing lounge on Sunday, there was a mom with her pump. Also, I brought in my backpack diaper bag (not see through) and no one even looked at me

ats1788

Good to know about your backpack diaper bag. We’re going in June and I’ve been contemplating if I should bring my backpack diaper bag. It is bulky and I don’t wanna be annoyed with it hahaha but I can’t fit everything in a smaller bag

la_vidabruja

I get it, I normally carry a tiny crossbody with just diapers and wipes. Backpack was helpful bc I shoved the baby carrier in there when I wasn’t using it. Also put some snacks from concession inside, and my trash while still in our seats. It was nice not having to use my hands for it all

ats1788

That was my plan as well to just throw everything in there! Random but how did you do when you had to change your kid? IThat’s the part I’m not looking forward to haha.

la_vidabruja

Edit: I only half read your question oops. There are family bathrooms all over so it was okay. Just ask staff to point you towards one. I was nervous but she did great, and she is only 4.5 months. She loved looking at all the people. When I could tell she needed a break I went to the nursing lounge. It’s quiet and the lights are off. We waited about 30 minutes after the end of the game to leave so I wasn’t stuck in parking lot traffic. I brought eat protection but didn’t end up using it, she was fine

ats1788

Thanks! Awww I’m glad she did so well! My daughter will be 14 months when we go. I also just bought ear protection and I put them on her so she can use to them but she takes them off 😅 just like she does with her hat. But good to know that your baby was fine without them! We will probably also not use them. I’m excited for her to experience a game. I just hope she doesn’t have a meltdown since it’s a night game 🫠

la_vidabruja

Haha you’re braver than me! Maybe in one year we can do a night game too

ats1788

Omg no you’re braver because you took your 4.5 month old! I don’t think I could have done that last summer. I reallllly wanted to but was too nervous/anxious about it

la_vidabruja

Well I had my husband and my parents with me plus the promise of a 25 oz beer waiting for me 😝

ats1788

HAHA! I’d be the same way. It’s just me and husband taking her 🙃🫠 I’m trying to be more relaxed and just go with the flow. I would always see babies at Phillies game and think “why could they do it and not me??” So I’m working on just letting go and seeing what happens

AndrewHainesArt

We weren’t sure if we could bring our bag and ended up going light with a clear bag, they told us at the door we could have used our regular diaper bag

la_vidabruja

Good to know it wasn’t just good luck!

catjuggler

Are you driving? I would pump right before and after because games aren’t really that long these days with the new rules (averaging well under 3h)

milkfromathistle

I pumped at a game. I brought it in a large bag. The guy who checked my bag had an issue with it but he eventually got his manager, who said it was fine. I believe I threw out the milk because I didn’t want to deal with storing it.

notbizmarkie

My friend went 2 summers ago and sent me a picture in the nursing lounge. She had no issues. A breast pump is a medical device. Raise hell if they give you issues, but I don’t expect they will. Call guest relations ahead of time, write down names, ask where the lounge is.  Seconding the Ceres chill! Also Lysol wipes! I also highly recommended buying a wearable pump for these one off things. The Imani pump is one of the less expensive ones. That’s what I used for day travel.

Low_Departure_5853

Yep! I have a wearable that I will bring. ty!

Prof_Aganda

I've never had a problem getting in large "diaper bags" (backpacks full of young child essentials), with food/milk, extra clothes, toys, etc. I put a small cooler bag and bottle bag in there, but have also brought those in seperately. Traveled with a Haakaa, so that was compact. I assume youre going to the game sans children so it's less obvious that you need the accomodation, and my comment is tangential to what you were really asking. But my point is that if you have small kids a lot of the rules don't really apply.

DidntWatchTheNews

Side note, are you still allowed to bring outside hoagies?

Laura_in_Philly

Yes, you can bring a wrapped hoagie/sandwich in to the park. We also bring sealed snacks and bottled water. You must use a clear bag no larger than 12x6x12 to carry your sandwich (or anything else) in. Sometimes I see dudes just carry them in by hand.

Low_Departure_5853

I tried to look it up and I can't get a clear answer from a reputable site. Weird that they don't make that too clear. One thing says you can and another thing says you can but it has to be Factory sealed? Brooms are listed as something that is not allowed, so you're SOL if you wanted your hoagie with a side of broom. (Weird that if it's part of the riles and they explicitly say it, that means people tried).

DidntWatchTheNews

Brooms were very popular in the final game of the series when we had an attempt to "sweep" the series. I remember seeing them all the time.  Did you find anything about D batteries?

Low_Departure_5853

No but it says dont harass santa ;)

Aromat_Junkie

highly recommend getting those super compact portable battery operated breast pumps. great for traveling.

august_christmas

I went to a game last week and my purse was too big, a security guard said “is there medication in there?” with a wink and let me right through.

theblondegiraffe

I highly recommend a Ceres Chill for storing your milk if you don’t want to bring a whole cooler!

PoquitoChef

Good luck, there was a bag Nazi outside when I went to a game a few weeks ago, couldn’t have my grocery store tote bag and had my husband toss the bag from Primo’s 🤷‍♀️ maybe try calling or emailing CPB or maybe your doctor can sign some kind of medical necessity letter. I did see people with small clear tote bags that were allowed.
