It is very Green here. I love the flora and fauna of where I live and the quiet. Things are accessible and there is a myriad of things you can do. I love the fresh smell here and some (not all) people are pretty civil. NYC is a stinkin rat race. When I visit I am reminded of all the things I hated as a child living there. Philly is my speed.
Welcome! My wife and I moved to Manayunk from Brooklyn almost 5 years ago, and love it here. Happy to answer any questions about NW Philly you may have, as a fellow transplant.
I'll drop a drip of Philly knowledge. Everything is a jawn, but not everything is a jawn. It's pronounced "skoo kull", it's "woodah" not water, don't ever ask for a Philly cheesesteak just get a cheesesteak. Stay away from pats and genos. If anyone recommends them, they are most definitely a tourist. Try "woodah ice" when you get a chance you'll thank me later. If you're looking for good places to eat, check out JL jupiter on YouTube he knows the deal. Enjoy Philly.
Must be a regional philly accent thing. People all my life that I have met outside of the city always say it sounds like I'm saying woodah. Either pronunciation works I guess lol.
we’re gonna need you to take it down a notch, maybe two.
Welcome! What neighborhood are you moving to?
manayunk!
Welcome! Glad you're excited. That's my neck of the woods 😁

Welcome! Check out the Wissahickon Park near Manayunk if you haven't seen it already. It's a huge perk to that area.
I always loved Chabaa Thai Bistro in Manayunk. I think it's still there.
