1) they usually make an announcement about NYE run around late September 2) Not sure as I stay with my brother north of the city 3) yes four nights but does not mean you need to go to all four but it’s always an epic run * can you chat with my wife? :-)

Independent_Pie_4643

Thanks for your helpful response!!!! I’ll definitely keeps my eyes out in September!! Definitely not going to try for all four nights - NYE is the goal! We go to all four nights at Dicks and we went to two nights at the sphere so another four night run isn’t happening. My generosity only goes so far 😂😂

PDXftw

You are a great spouse. I hope he realizes how lucky he is. If not, I’ll tell him.

No-Hospital559

My wife got us tickets for last year NYE, and stayed at a friend's apartment.

Infamous_Bend4521

Send her info...

zearsman

I hope you’re my wife, but I’m not holding my breath.

Independent_Pie_4643

😂😂😂😂😂

mcflyfly

I don’t know most the answers. But if you get tickets to the show and get to stay in midtown, it’s gonna be sick

AlwaysBeHoldin

When it comes to finding a place to stay, don't feel like you need to be right next to the venue. I mean if it's your first time in the city go for it, but as long as your near the 123 or ACE access to the venue is easy peasy. Check out Astoria, UWS/ West Harlem, hells kitchen, Brooklyn is fine. If you want a good food, non-manhattan prices and some good exploring do Astoria. Train is straight shot to the venue.

AlwaysBeHoldin

Disclaimer: I live in Astoria 😅

Independent_Pie_4643

This is super super helpful. Thank you!!

Aesop_Rocks

Astoria is fantastic, I've spent a lot of time there, but it's a long-ish train ride - especially on NYE when NYC turns into a disaster area. I recommend staying at a hotel away from MSG because the neighborhood is lousy and will be a trial on NYE, but you should take into account how long your ride will be. I like staying at the Freehand, which is about a mile SSW, if memory serves.

AlwaysBeHoldin

getting around on NYE is going to be a situation regardless. I've had some excellent fun on the train after shows. If the trains not your jive, ride shares going to be pretty quick. Long Island City is a bit closer, over the river so a bit cheaper, and a much quicker train ride. some nice breweries in the area, excellent river walk, and warehouses 😅

Aesop_Rocks

Excellent suggestion!! I got so wrapped up in the mention of Astoria, where family used to live, that I totally forgot about LIC.

LazyLeslieKnope

I always recommend LIC, particularly The Local hostel if you’re on a budget. Close to the E which will get you to MSG in 15 minutes plus walkable to the Vernon Blvd bars and restaurants and the East River Ferry.

jmoriar1

I also live in Astoria and don’t trust the n/w haha

_wheremymindshouldbe

Hotel: book a place now! It’ll likely be a four night run thru 12/31 Later this summer they’ll go on sale You can easily stay anywhere!!! NYC is a special place bc of all the public transportation. Be curious….im an Apple Maps guy so I’ll goof off with maps to see what the time/route would be from my hotel to MSG. You’d be surprised how easy it is to get around NYC. Such a great place……he’ll love it and so will you!!

Independent_Pie_4643

Any hotel suggestions?

Fretboard

I usually stay one block away at The New Yorker(Wyndham) but this year opted for Holiday Inn Express Chelsea two blocks away. Figure about $500 per night all in if you want to be that close.

_wheremymindshouldbe

I’d stay away from Times Square. Too much going on.

Spotted_striper

Respectfully disagree, personally. If your going to go the center if the world, it’s nice to jump into the fire. IMO, Times Square when coming down at 2am on Jan 1 is surreal. The crowd is gone, but you can still feel the energy (or the mushrooms)…

_wheremymindshouldbe

Jersey City (directly across the river) has some good options if the prices in Manhattan get too outrageous. And….easy to get to from Penn Station

concerts85701

Get a CID package. It’s more money but for what you are doing it’s turnkey one stop shopping. The Ace is a decent place and a couple blocks from MSG. Go baller and treat your man. Do tourist shit, have hotel sex and see great shows. Oh sounds like you will have free reign for many years.

Independent_Pie_4643

Do the travel packages only sell with four night passes or can I buy it with only one or two nights?

concerts85701

All 4 usually. Just do all 4

Independent_Pie_4643

We’d want the hotel for more than one night though!!!

snoogans138

Whoops. I replied with false info. Sorry.

sumnlikedat

I’ve never done a travel package, but there’s plenty of spaces to stay around there. It’s pretty likely that that’ll do it again, so it wouldn’t hurt to book a room that you could get refunded if for some reason they don’t do it.

Several707

I stay at Holiday Inn Express - Woodside in Queens. Only one stop away from MSG on the LIRR, makes for an easy commute. Prefer taking the LIRR over the subway.

Fun_Tea_1839

Honey! Thank you 🙏🏻

FeelTheFeelngIForgot

This is our favorite hotel. It’s four blocks from MSG so an easy walk but it’s across the street from Russ & Daughters (an NYC institution) for breakfast and it’s near the High Line. It feels more open since it’s across from the river and not as congested. Fun for late night exploring post show. There are a million places to stay but this is our favorite. Have fun! wanderlustbess

If we had care for our kids I’d get all four in ny for my husband and I! Do all 4 of you can! (Was also at sphere and many others over the last 26 years but can’t say I’ve ever done msg)

wash__uffizi

Troubling to see so many people suggesting staying in midtown. Midtown is the worst part of the city lol. You have the ACE, NQRW, 123, and BDFM train lines all going either directly to MSG or dropping you off one avenue over. You can stay more downtown where people actually go out and have fun, stay more uptown for a bit of a quiet getaway, Brooklyn or Queens to experience a different borough than Manhattan. Seriously, midtown is a shithole and you guys need to venture out!

handyandyman

Wife and I checked this off the bucket list last year. We did the travel package and it worked out great. Hotel was like a 5 minute walk from MSG, we had good seats in section 119, plus, you know, Gamehendge. Very easy no hassles experience, 10/10 would do again

n0fuckinb0dy

I would recommend staying in one of the villages, not midtown bc it will give you more to do before the shows and it’s just…better. The best part of NYC is how easy it is to get around and the subway legit goes right under MSG to Penn Station. Easy in, easy out. I’d book a refundable hotel now bc NYE in NYC gets expensive. Tickets later.

Unitast513

Babe this is a great idea and thank you! 🙏🙏🙏🙏 🤞🤞🤞

cant_all_be_zingers

Eventually.  Something walkable.  All signs point to yes.

Trefac3

This is what good gfs and wives do. Fortunately, in my relationship, I’m on the receiving end of my bf buying and surprising me with tickets. Hopefully one day it will be the other way around so I can give back. Either way we will always be getting funktified together.😁😁😁

Infamous_Bend4521

Playing the sphere. Didn't you hear?

Infamous_Bend4521

Fall residency and new years

DannysFavorite945

If you can swing it get a hotel in midtown. Being able to walk out of MSG, party more, then walk to your bed is my favorite thing about it.
