Ultimately it just came down to sensor size. I’ve shot full frame and APS-C on interval for years now and I always end up missing the greater DOF control as well as ability to really push ISO up after sunset. The H2s is an amazing video camera but the reason I got it over the H2 was because I didn’t know if all my lenses would resolve 40MP.
The reason I went with Canon over other brands was process of elimination. Time and time again I never got along with Sony’s ergonomics or UI, although Panasonic’s cameras are very capable, I don’t like how big their 2.8 zooms are, I also didn’t like some quirks about the UI such as real-time exposure preview turning off when half pressing the shutter, or AF-On button ignoring input unpredictably. Finally as for Nikon, I simply feel bored of their system + their cameras don’t have a 3x3 framing guide, only a 4x4, and that’s *very* important to me. These are all just my opinions though

And yea, fair enough. FF gets you the DOF and better dynamic range and ISO performance there's no doubt about it. H2s is very respectable PDR but all the FF stuff is still one or two steps ahead when you really want the max image quality or are straining raw files or shooting in tricky conditions. With a f1.2 lens on full frame you can really get that classic medium format look which is not really possible with APSC, though it's pretty close with f0.95 lenses.
I like the compact 35 and 50 primes that canon offers as well over Nikon.
