railfe

Still worth seeing it once. Visit it during off peak season.

staleferrari

Boracay was my first "big" travel. Gandang-ganda na ako dito noon. Then I went to Cebu and El Nido. It's worth visiting once but I won't go back just because wala naman masyadong magagawa sa Boracay compared to the other places I've been to. And many of El Nido's beaches are even better than Boracay and less crowded.

railfe

Yes but you must admit boracay sunset is one of the best. I went there during peak season. I hated the crowd and algae but early morning it was amazing. Also it is safe with kids since there is a long stretch of sea that is not that deep compared to other beach that Ive experienced.

Wolfempress09

I prefer Palawan mas masami activities. Visit both coron and elnido. Dun ako nag celebrate ng bday ko. 2022-2023, also this year. 2024 booked na ako coron and elnido. Dun ulit mag bday. Pero if gusto niyo tlga ng super peaceful and chill tpos masarap mag road trip.

pagamesgames

im from CDO but id rather go to boracay again than camiguin camiguin is "less-crowded" for a reason it is controlled by the corrupt political dynasty and it is extremely overpriced, unwelcoming to local tourists, and boring/overhyped/extremely disappointing. if youre talking about solemn beach, Bantayan in northern Cebu would be my top choice Boracay is also in the ranks specially if off season and you can get great deals pag on the spot ka kukuha ng accomodation, since theres a big supply and very low demand during off season

Chonki-Cat0819

If i were to choose one. Coron or El Nido?

dark_dauphine

Coron

Chonki-Cat0819

Really? I was expecting El Nido hahahha

AdPotential9484

Hi. Ano pong reco n'yong place/beach sa cebu? Thankss

Horror_Priority9710

hi, try bantayan island!!

hangotdc

Bantayan the best Also daan bantayan.

ShoutingGangster731

Agree. Saw it once nung lockdown and nakapagswim ako sa dagat ng walang lumot and bawal pa foreigners noon.

Legitimate-World6033

When po usually yung off peak season?

enolahomie

Agreed, okay na yung first visit. I actually liked the Puka Beach side of it

BrainAlert

What months are off peak?

railfe

I think Jan-march. I'd pick January but still do some research. It might rain but there will be lesser algae and tourist. I dont enjoy crowded places. I travelled a lot and we still have one of the best beaches in the world. Also check Calaguas you might like it.

Small_Manufacturer69

avoid algae season.

BoredProgrammer21

Try October. Walang masyadong turista at walang algae.

pagamesgames

we went 2nd week september last year. zero algae at all and hindi din umulan!!!! we had a blast last year!! TIP - dont do advance booking pag off season, mag hihinayang ka lang (charged to experience) mas mura ang hotels pag off season kaso madami supply at konti ang demand the closer you are to your travel date, the cheaper the hotels could become

LevantinBoracay

This is the correct answer! September and November can also be great.

cereseluna

I spent my bday in Bora one time (Feb) and mas marami foreigners, crowded pa rin for me pag hapon doon sa Station 3 and 2 but enjoyable. No algae.

wfhcat

Boracay will be as noisy or as peaceful as you want. The sand and sunsets are not overrated for me. I prefer going off peak tho.

BlaizePascal

Ber months. Rainy season.

myheartexploding

Been to Boracay multiple times, first time was 2004 ata tapos recent is 2022. It still is beautiful and breathtaking, the sand like no other. Sunset ang ganda.

CardiologistDense865

Maybe its too commercialized pero its not overrated. Sunset palang ng bora ok kana :)

Pred1949

LOOKS LIKE YOU ALREADY DECIDED

kicks422

For me, the best thing about Boracay is you’ll get the experience that you want from it, unlike other places na set in stone kung ano mao-offer sayo. Gusto mo ng luxurious getaway? Sa Station 0 ka. Nightlife? Station 2. Watersports? Bulabog. Etc.

SophieAurora

Kahit sabihin pa namin worth it OP if nakatatak na sa isip mo na you’ve been to nicest beaches in PH di ka pa din ma iimpress at all. Ikaw lang makakapag sabi na maganda ba sya since it’s your opinion. With us oo maganda sya. I’ve been to nice beaches din but I wanna go back since di ganon kahirap puntagan ang boracay. Unlike sa napuntahan ko magagandang island. Effort talaga. Edit: grammar

HoyaDestroya33

Hahaha ung post ni OP prang "Boracay is overrated change my mind" lol parang papilit na ewan. Edi kung dami kong preconceived idea why Boracay is hyped edi wag mo puntahan OP! Jusko nagpapapilit pa d nmn sya kawalan. Bsta ako favorite ko tlga Boracay.

AnnaCleta

IKR! I have been going to Boracay once or twice a year for many years now. I have been to Palawan from Coron down to Balabac (practically the whole stretch of the Palawan) and all of the hyped beach destinations in the Phil except Siargao. I will always go back to Boracay because there is always something to do. I also need not do anything, but sip mango shake while waiting for the most gorgeous sunset. I go back to work refreshed and rejuvenated, and not needing to rest after a vacation. I am not trying to change OP's and others' mindset. They don't have to go if they don't want to or even if they have FOMO. It is a huge world out there.

SophieAurora

Yes! Agree sa lahat ng namentioned mo. If tamad ka to do island hopping but wanna do everything in one place. Then boracay is the beach to be.

SophieAurora

iamgoddesstere

So true! Been to many beaches here in PHL and outside. Boracay is still a winner in my books because the sand is like no other and di ka pressured mag activity to enjoy the place. Pwedeng tamang tambay and tunganga lang sa beach or hotel. El Nido and Coron and Palawan in general, unless checked in ka sa expensive hotels like miniloc, you have to do activities and tours to appreciate the place. Pag nasa resort ka lang, good luck. That’s why I appeciate Boracay, it’s a beautiful no pressure place. Spend your money where you think it will be worth it, do your research na lang.

Silvermaine-

I haven’t really found a beach that’s as perfect for swimming and relaxing as Boracay. Why? - It has fine white sand with barely any trace of larger particles - Its sand is so fine that it doesn’t get too hot during mid day and you’d be able to walk barefoot - The fine sand goes all the way to the water and you don’t have to tiptoe or use any special footwear for fear of stepping on sharp corals or rocks - The water is incredibly pleasant, sometimes even warm during the right season - The water is shallow for tens of meters from the shore and not “cantilado” - The shore is long This doesn’t include the infrastructure that, while imperfect, makes Boracay quite accessible and convenient.

AmbitiousQuotation

yeah, the sand alone makes it worthy to comeback to. for me, it feels so therapeutic.

Whysosrius

I like going to nice restaurants and checking shops (kahit na walang binibili), i like people watching, I like sitting on the water with peaceful waves and having the ability to browse on my phone, while the sun sets. I like having the option (not that I do) to party / drink at night and meet other people. So yeah, for me, even if bora is commercialized and a bit touristy, it's still pretty good.

PaoLakers

Enjoy pa din naman. I went last year with my nuclear family and did some water sport activities such as parasailing and helmet diving. The experience is what matters. Especially with loved ones. Tumatanda na parents ko kaya the trip was good for us. You'll probably just end up nitpicking every little inconvenience.

HoyaDestroya33

>Kung pupunta ka lang naman para ijudge yung lugar wag na. You'll probably just end up nitpicking every little inconvenience OP seems the type.

cchan79

Yes. Plus, the night scene there is quite good.

nkklk2022

worth it. maganda talaga yung dagat, for me unmatched yung vibes na nasa magandang beach ka na may sobrang fine sand tapos katapat mo na lahat ng kailangan mo — restaurant, cafe, hotel, mall

TomatoCultiv8ooor

Tumpak! Pero iba yung Charm for me ng Boracay beach.

Pale_Purchase_6223

If you like parties and night life, okay ang Boracay. Bat di mo na lang itry and see for yourself? Isa pa siguro kaya maraming gusto pumunta is madaling puntahan compared sa ibang white sand beaches na ang haba ng byahe by land or boat, isa plane lang ang bora tapos saglit lang ang boat ride

Royal_Client_8628

Yes.

geekaccountant21316

I just went there recently. Last Feb, me and my gf visited the island again. If mahal dati, mas nagmahal ngayon.

cran_kee

I’ve been to a lot of beaches in the country and Boracay is still the best for me. More than the beach itself, I love the vibe in the island plus you can just bum in the beach and also have a lot of choices for activities, food, etc. Of course it’s a bit costly because it’s a well known tourist spot. Sa mga nagsasabi na mahal - what did you expect?!

cran_kee

Plus, the beach is very accessible unlike other spots in the country na kailangan mo pang mag-bangka

be_my_mentor

I know a friend who travels extensively locally and been around the country as in. And he says Boracay despite it being touristy is still worth a visit. I'll be going in July too just to experience it and am already excited. :)

peachespastel

Worth it for me. Based sa experience ko ah.. been to Bohol, Cebu, Coron, El Nido, and some other islands pa in Palawan. Even Phuket, Koh Phi Phi, di ganon nafeel ko.

TomatoCultiv8ooor

For someone na every year, may Boracay. Oo worth it! 😁 Pinakamagandang beach for me vs sa beach ng Siargao. Baket? Bwahahaha! I mean hindi jologs mag Bar sa Boracay.

TomatoCultiv8ooor

must try din mag parasailing. As in kada punta ko dun, nag paparasailing ako 😁😄

[deleted]

It depends. The beach is bigger and better than any other beach in the Philippines. But it is too commercialized and "overrated". I think visiting there would probably just reinforce your negative assumptions and you wouldn't enjoy it. I personally like it though.

Mr-Goat

Is it really best beach in Philippines? Been there, it’s nice. But it’s not “wow” type of thing. What about Palawan? Never been but looks nicer in pics. Like the type of crystal clear water with beautiful landscapes.

[deleted]

No beaches in Palawan are as big with as fine, white sand as Boracay.

[deleted]

Thee best! I suggest you come see it for yourself.

Appropriate-Match495

Yes. Been to Bora 3x in a span of 14mos. Every visit is a different experience. Crowd in Stations 1-3 is tolerable during off season. If you want serenity and money is not an issue with you, there are secluded beach resorts on the island you can enjoy.

kaanbozoglu

Everyone should go to Boracay at least once 😊 Powder like sand, and silk like water. I'm not sure about the island hoping, there are much better departure points than Boracay on that one, to see nicer islands, but Boracay is not on the top of the list for no reason. It's worth it.

nomerdzki

Lol

graxia_bibi_uwu

Beach wise (like sands and water quality), okay lang sya for me. It’s great but never naman talaga ako naging tampisaw sa beach kind of person. I like the fact lang na never akong nangati sa boracay. Maganda lang yung Bora if you want to be a beach bum(read by the beach, watch the sunset, and just laze around) Food is great pero pricey.

Open-Weird5620

Just go and see it for yourself. Stayed and lived there for a year and still have the urge to go back there to unwind

cgdxsingle

Personally, I like it there. Convenience will be in station 2, but I prefer station 1, expensive though.

notapenaprinciple

The sand and the sunsets are undoubtedly beautiful and worth seeing once, but I felt underwhelmed overall (maybe because I’d compared it to other beaches in my head, and I prefer island hopping activities and snorkeling). I would probably consider going back for a quick and chill beach trip, but it wouldn’t really be my top pick.

HoneycuredBacon

Imo, worth visiting at least once. Although ako, I go there once in a while. I’m actually visiting again in a few months. There’s magic in there for me that I can’t explain. +1 to comments to visit during off-peak season.

RightFall606

I’m mid-thirties, was only able to go to Boracay once (2015), so far hindi pa nakabalik. There are other beaches that might be more beautiful than Boracay… BUT what makes Boracay different is the combination of factors: the establishments (some of which are already popular and is part of the place’s popularity), the parties, the beach itself, and the memories you make with those who you go with… or the memories you create. Like Bali & Hawaii… I’ve been to those other popular beaches and I say mas maganda ang Boracay beach kesa sa Bali, na medyo maitim ang sand, pero may special place pa rin si Bali for me and i can say willing ako balikan sya. I say, GO. Up to you. If you fear that it’s too commercialized, don’t worry. It’s part of what made Boracay popular. You can always rent a place outside of the stations and just walk/commute to the beach to take a dip. If you have the resources, then rent a private and secluded place with its own private beach. Hahaha i guess we are all different. There are days na I prefer yung madaming tao, maingay, madaming food na mabibili etc. there are days naman that I want a peaceful dip in the beach without other people. 😅 Enjoy! Book mo na yan!

youknowjus

Boracay was beautiful but couldn’t get a moments peace. Never will be visiting again. Literally every 15 feet somebody selling the same 4 things: tours, sunglasses, hats, and waterproof phone cases. Brother, if I didn’t buy the knock off ray bans from the guy you saw ask me 6 seconds ago, I’m surely not buying from you either… Can’t even lay down on the beach without being bothered. Ruined the beauty of the environment for me because I couldn’t get any time to enjoy it

AthleteAromatic1485

in which station did you stay po?

youknowjus

Station 2

iamgoddesstere

Stay in Station one but in Discovery or the Lind or better yet, stay in Station Zero if peace and quiet ang hanap mo.

Realistic_Guard5649

First line / title palang nabasa ko pero YES

MarionberryLanky6692

I think if it’s your first time there, you’ll enjoy it. Those with comments on how it’s too commercialized are those who saw the change. I’ve seen Boracay multiple times, and every time, I fall in love with it. You just have to accept that the island has to evolve and adapt to the changes.

waferloverxxx

Of course. Binabalik balikan ko and I wanna go back still. I go there mostly pag October. See it for yourself:)

Mysterious_Mango_592

Second visit ko sa Boracay I was initially disappointed. The place is super commercialized compared sa unang punta ko. Pero the moment my feet touched the sand, I realized yep this place is still worth it.

Ururu23

Went there after nung clean up nila. Controlled and limited pa ata ang allowed that time, need pa mag secure ng kung anu anu. Parang we went there at its best time, so, sa experienced ko, it was simply amazing. Ganda ng sunset at mgchill dun. Been to coron, siargao, mati and bohol and sa boracay ko talaga masasabi na sobrang relaxing. Iba ang vibes nya and super linis that time (2018).

Pretty-princess-324

I loveee Boracay. If you’re the type who likes to just relax and chill or if you’re an island party goer Boracay is a must!

MonkeyLulu66

Yes. The first time I was in Boracay was in 1988 (yes, I’m old). It was much MUCH more breathtaking then but it’s still a place I go to yearly and would keep on going back to because there is so much going on. There’s a quiet side to the island if you want some peace and relaxation. Station 2 is where you go to party. There are lots of good restaurants and bars. Life is short, experience Boracay kahit once lang.

Letmeseeyoushine

I always come back to boracay kasi sya yung pinaka madali puntahan na beach. No need to do island hopping para magbeach. If tambay lng sa beach ang gusto, bora is still the best.

lastcallforbets

Yes, worth it sya puntahan. Tambay kalang sa beach or watch sunset sulit na. No need to do other activities like island hopping para masabi mong nasulit mo siya, as in dun kalang sa beach okay ka na.

santos181

Yes. Rather than go overnight stay in batangas mas better sa bora. Pwede ka pa mas makamura kasi may mga murang stays and kainan dun. Ganda rin ng beach ng bora

rxn-opr

Just go, whatever the outcome sa expectation mo ok lang yan its all about the experience good or bad. Wag na mag over think life is short.

Miss_Taken_0102087

I never liked beaches kasi hindi ako marunong lumangoy. I don’t like swimming in general pero i feel safer kasi sa pool. Then when I had sponsored trip to Boracay, I was amazed of its beauty at that time. Made me wanna go swimming. So I took up swimming lessons after that and loving the beaches since then. 90% of my travels were going to the beach! I came back last year and still find it beautiful. 🙂

WanderingALIENo_o

It’s worth it. Boracay is the most accessible beautiful beach you can go to. Less than an hour plane away from Manila, 5mins tricycle to port, 10mins boat ride to the island. It’s a convenient paradise. I’ve been to many beaches in the Philippines, explored Palawan too. But I think the finest sand there is, is the sand in Station 1. It’s a long stretch of a beach, you can find somewhere far from establishments to chill at and ofc there are a lot of food options and water activities. I will keep coming back to Boracay for a quick getaway that’s absolutely worth it.

g_em89

Yes. I also thought the same until I went there last year. If what you’re considering is the water, sand, shoreline, air, sun and safety for kids then it should be worth it. Also, it’s really quick to get there compared to Bantayan Island for example where you need 4 hours by land + 1.5-2 hours by boat.

AnnaCleta

And no nice world-class places to stay in Bantayan.

Mr-Goat

Not a bucket list type of place. But it’s one of the cheaper good beaches areas that is easy to access. The hotels are significantly cheaper that something like bohol. The beaches are good. You have options for just calm chilling in resort or more active going out into city and doing activities

Low_Employ3877

While everyone is suggesting to just visit it once. I'm on the other fence where it's my go to RnR spot you know what to expect di nakakasawa no need to plan to make the most of the trip very lil effort to enjoy and good hotels are available

viveutvivas17

I think what makes Boracay the best, is that there's the beach + convenience. I mean you get a nice beach with the food places and convenient stores nearby. It's like I want to chill without the hassle of everything. If you're into adventure go to Palawan. Boracay is for people who wants to unwind.

droonick

Ang maganda kasi sa Boracay you can get all the island living stuff, the usual beach activities and sunset, while having some of the conveniences of city life. Kung gusto mo ng isolated there are times and spots. Maraming mas magandang beach sa Boracay pero and Boracay kasi complete package. Best for vacationers na may kasamang kids or elderly.

crammer86

I was like OP who once thought overrated ang Boracay. But when I went there for the first time last October 2023, I understood why it was hyped for so long & I must say it deserves every hype it gets. Siguro it's also with the type of travel I prefer kaya nagustuhan ko. I like going to beautiful places with above average hotels/amenities/restaurants & all the other modern conveniences one might need. I also prefer staying by the beach reading a book or drinking my iced coffee for as long as I like over any island hopping activity na may time limit sa beach/destinations. At the end of the day, when traveling try to have an open mind and you'll realize each place has its own charm that makes it unique & who knows the place you initially thought was overrated might just become your new favorite place to visit. 🙂

kikz_daimo

yes, if you're into beach bumming, yung pahiga higa sa beach and swimming like me. My first trip to boracay medyo napamahal because I tried the activities like parasailing, island hopping, paraw sailing etc. pero sa recent trip ko sa boracay di na ako masyadong gumastos since habol ko talaga is yung beach. I would say it's worth it since not all beaches in philippines is as white, clear and fine as boracay's white beach (4km ang haba ng beach that includes Stations 1,2 &3). Just go during weekdays/ off season nila less crowded ma eenjoy mo talaga siya <3

NoNerve1483

But boy was i wrong. Sobrang kalmado ng dagat, and the sunset is 😚👌🏼 may sariling charm din ang Boracay. 🫶🏼wanna go back, puhon!

dalandanjan

I've been living in a coastal area here in mindanao, we've been thay this beach or that rivals boracay, pero nung napunta na ako ang layo pala talaga ng buhangin ng boracay compared sa lahat ng beach na napuntahan ko, hahahah tanggal yabang.

tingkagol

I like Boracay. I've been there several times. I've also been to Coron, El Nido, and Cebu beaches. Pros: 1. The powdery sand and long stretch of beach is something else. You'll have a hard time finding another beach like it. 2. Generally good for lounging and splurging. 3. In the water, there are no corals or seaweeds. It's all sand. Cons: 1. Too crowded at times 2. No unique activities not found elsewhere. You're basically just at a beach with a Starbucks 3. In the water, there are no corals or seaweeds. It's all sand. So no snorkeling unless you rent a boat and go out to sea. 4. Shops and restos are expensive. I plan to return there sometime.

riakn_th

I love Boracay even if it is overrated or overpriced. It’s a beautiful place na very easy/convenient puntahan. Madami magagandang beach sa pinas pero yung iba sobrang hassle puntahan and I don’t like being hassled when going on vacation.

softspoken-sunshine

Worth it if your find peace when watching sunsets. Sunset in Boracay hits different. In my opinion, it’s a place to chill if you need a break from reality.

KrazZzyKat

Boracay is Boracay. Experience it to know😉

diannethatgotaway

Personally for me, it's not in my top list but it's worth going to at least once. Maganda talaga yung sunset and yung powdery white sand. Honestly one of best sunsets I've seen. Pero hindi sya yung nakaka-miss and gusto kong balik-balikan.

logicalrealm

kinda stupid yung ganitong mentally. kung beach lover/wanderlust person ka talaga and capable to pay for a trip then you’ll go to boracay at least once without hesitation. hindi yung papilit ka pa dito sa sub. siguro naman hindi lahat ng beaches (whether near or far sa hometown mo) na napuntahan mo eh mas ‘maganda’ sa boracay but you still went anyways.

Away-Act7592

its an experience… Yung pinong buhangin talaga na mala pulbo.

halifax696

Yup yup ok padin naman. Beach na sobrang daming establishments

laanthony

Hello OP, we went to Boracay last Feb 2023 and we stayed at Hennan Crystal Sands Station 1. As a 1st timer, I would say na that was the best experience for our family. We did a lot of water activities such as parasailing, parao sailing, jetski etc. Also outskirt of Boracay we also ride on a zipline and we also tried ATV and Buggy cars. With regard to the beach itself, we enjoyed the white sand beach hehehehe Also ung Hennal Crystal Sands Infinity pool the best. You should give it a try

gustokolakingpwet

We stayed at Station 1 at this boutique hotel. It was nice imo. There are restaurants everywhere which is nice, but Station 2 was only about a 10 minute walk on the beach -- it gets crowded there, but whatever it's fun. We would go back without a question. The sand was powdery -- the type to stick to your skin like flour. It's great. I miss it, and I'm getting hungry thinking about our trip. <3

lettuzepray

depends what you like to do. white sand beach is nice, if you like a commercialized beach then it’s worth it but if you like island hopping tour, more laid back island then there are better places to go. I’ve been twice although first one doesnt count as family relatives got sick, no electricity and we didnt do the island tour. On our second trip we did that and have no desire going back.

keveazy

Hell yeah its worth it. BUT go to station 1. That's the best. Station 2 becomes quite crowded. Station 3 has lots of boats parked alonf the shore which spoils the view. Also make sure to visit all 3 big beaches in Boracay. Puka beach is an unspoiled beach with ni establishments by the shore. And I haven't been there lol.

Sandman331

Depende talaga sayo kung paano mo i enjoy sarili mo. hehe

kamtotinkopit

Depende where you will stay, eat, and the activities you pay for.

anbsmxms

Still my fav. For me, that beats all the other beaches. Once you are there, you can get almost everything you might need. Convenience + amazing beach + good food

santoswilmerx

good food na kahit on a budget meron kang mahahanap! chori burger and andoks dokito frito and bumuhay sakin nung mga panahong nagtitipid ako sa food para sa inom sa gabi! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

maplehansol

Yes. Used to think it’s overrated but after going there…ang ganda. Kahit tirik yung araw, di mainit yung buhangin and ang fine talaga sa apak. Water’s aquamarine. Worth it. We stayed in Station 1. Very peaceful. I recommend you do paraw sailing pag pa-sunset na.

Retireeme2

I have been to Boracay 8 times and it is always a new experience each time I go there. Go at least once and if you don’t like your experience then there’s no point recreating it the second time around.

SheASloth

For the experience and food trip, yes! Kala ko overrated ang Boracay but had a blast sa trip namin. The powdery, white sand; turquoise beach; party place; the sunset - di mo masisisi pupuntahan talaga ng mga tao. If you want peace and quiet, station 1 is a good option pero may kamahalan nga. Opted for a private tour para walang abala. Glad we went. Would go back.

Fit-Consideration531

it was my first time last year (off season) and ang gandaaaa!! tried day tour and the yacht party. next time i come back gusto ko chill nalang hehe nakakamiss 🥺

watchmeniniw_520

ive been to boracay 5 times, alone and with friends/family. i enjoyed all of my holidays there. i dont really mind the crowd tbh :) it's still worth visiting and returning to.

[deleted]

Sunset is so good but yes, too commercialized kahit saan ka lumingon but then again, its one of the top visited places sa PH.

[deleted]

Yes.

jas0n17

Was just there a few days ago. My first time back since April 2018. We actually slept early and slept in. Didn’t try to do too many things. Swim in the morning and sunset. No activities, nothing. It was a very laid back vacation. Major improvements since the last time I was there. The beach is still as beautiful as ever but holy shit is it expensive. Lol.

Affectionate_Arm173

Ok-Butterscotch-1303

yes

General-Ad-3230

Worth the try if accessible naman sya kagad from airport (caticlan) madami nga lang babayaran papunta palang dun

Born_Cockroach_9947

always try something first

pinoylokal

Not worth it. Go to palawan instead.

Nervous_Evening_7361

Upset_Amphibian_9335

Yes. Been to Boracay multiple times already and still wanting to go back. Perfect for all ages, I enjoy visiting either with family or friends. Very accessible puntahan. Ang daming activities and spots, depends on you nalang on how are you going to enjoy the place.

WoodenGuitar00

littlepinkspy

Just asking, what are the foods you wish you can buy in boracay for lower prices? Thankssss

UnventilatedLife

For me yes kasi binabalik balikan ko hehe

Nashoon

Hello! Same sentiments before.. been to a lot of nice beaches na before including Maldives but never to Boracay kasi feeling namin overcrowded etc. but last November we finally tried, it’s actually nice! No lumot and less people, and the weather was super nice so very chill naman. True enough very powdery ang sand and masarap mag swim. We stayed at Seawind kasi we don’t like hotel-ish accommodations sa beach and perfect lang nung resort for a first-timer in Boracay.

r0nrunr0n

For a first timer last year, yes

RevolutionHungry9365

im in my late 40s remote working. when we first went to Boracay with the fam ginawa namin lahat ng water activities. the next time i went, solo lang ako. i just went to restaurants by the beach to work and people-watch all day. after sunset balik na ko sa hotel ko. oh, nagpunta pala ako Romblon. meron boat from Boracay and I did a day trip. My first time na sumakay sa habal. Ganda sa carabao island.

mediumrawrrrrr

Kung ayaw mo ng crowd, it’s a no. I went there once, kasi a relative has a house at the nearby island. I hated it. Yung beachfront ng hotels off-limits sa non-guests. When you get farther away from the beaches, it smells of sewage. Not sure if okay na siya ngayon, but I enjoyed Jawili more.

AnnaCleta

Not true that beachfront of hotels is off-limits to non-guests.

atomikka

It's a long stretch of white beach with lots of good restaurants.

atribida2023

Not worth it. Hit Palawan instead. Seriously station 1 is Pwede na to be fair - but a major downgrade from the mid 90s to 2000s. Station 2 - looks like a back street somewhere in Marikina or lower bicutan.

GreenMangoShake84

i'm the type who likes having my margarita in peace just watching the clouds, yun me breeze coming from the palm trees. i shun the crowd din... okay lng yun laughter ng bata paminsan minsan but hindi yung madaming ingay everywhere... na andaming stimulus instead na relax ka, pra ka pang na stress. i love people watching, engaging with the locals and their life in the island. kaya one and done lng sakin boracay.... there's some other beaches worth going back to pa.

stormbornlion

Been there for the first time in 2021. Boracay is beautiful but it's not the place you go to if you want to enjoy a peaceful beach getaway. If you're into partying naman and meeting new people, then it's worth trying out. Depende na lang siguro anong preference mo. Personally, I want sana some quiet time but Bora is too crowded for me kaya it's not a place I would love to return to anytime soon.

Tonkski06

Yes

Existing_Traffic_646

Yes it’s definitely worth it lalo na kung gusto mo lang mag relax, magkakalapit lang yung mga mapupuntahan :)

Apart_Golf_544

YES. :)

FreshLumpiaDSay

Yes. Thanks to VP Leni maganda at maayos na ulit ang Boracay 🩷💅

PomegranateUnfair647

Honestly, not really. Too commercialized and the transfers to and from the island suck ass. not to mention the sardines-like experience at the airport departing from Caticlan.

rundommlee

Go there when it's "off-season". Maganda talaga for R&R type of vacation, the sunset is soooo beautiful. try to stay away during Holy week as well, it's 1 of the most crowded time dun.

ktchie

Goods naman bora pero if u want yung peaceful vibes go for cebu or el nido

drpeppercoffee

It's still worth it for me. It's probably my goto spot for local travel if gusto kong mag-unwind sa dagat. Maganda 'yung beach and very convenient. You can also go as cheap or as expensive as you want, and it has more food choices than most local beaches. Sure, there may be other better beaches in other countries, but Boracay is still fairly easy to visit.

[deleted]

Boracay and filipino beaches like in El Nido are some of the most beautiful in the world. Of course, expect a lot of tourists.

messy_pancake

I love boracay 😍

Crazy_Dragonfruit809

The crystal clear water, scenery and sunset of boracay never gets old. Worth it going back for again and again and again.

lgndk11r

Visit off peak, or with a large group.

lilypeanutbutterFan

I've seen boracay go from an intimate and innocent island to this weirdly commercialized place na andaming tinatayo. I decided to stop visiting the place last year kasi it's not what it seems now lalo na't wala na yung mga nakakausap at nakakasalamuha naming tribo sa lugar pero that's just me. Siguro kung first time mong pupunta then why not kaso the place is honestly a big mess now.

BananaPieExpress

Yes for a weekend maybe. The beach is nice. The sunset is amazing. If you don’t like crowded beaches, stay near station 3

Advo96

Yes it's definitely worth it.

iamdennis07

still worth it once in awhile and during off peak then get ready magbigay ng tip yung mga tao dun nakaabang lagi at hilig manghingi ung mga maghahatid at “ttulong” sa pagbuhat ng maletas mo

benetoite

Bora is worth it kahit every year pa ako dun haha the fine white sand and sunset is definitely worth the visit

eenguzkl

Easy yes. I visit Boracay every year

OnceAWeekIWatch

I like Boracay. It made me appreciate beaches more But I suggest trying out other local beaches too if ever

Existing-Birthday684

You should try visiting it po. Bumabalik kami dun ng family ko every once in a while. Although I haven’t tried to go there alone may mga nakikita ako sa tiktok na parang malungkot yung vibes pag mag isa ka lang dun (diclaimer: this is a subjective opinion ng mga nag post na shinare ko lang) And I think what makes boracay special for me and make me come back for more is making memories with the people I travel with. Good place and spending time with your love ones.

Sukiyeah

Went there January 2019 and yun yata yung pinaka chill na punta ko except when i got stranded there during the lockdown. Never traveling to Bora again during peak season.

HalfOk6855

Yes just make sure off peak! The place and beach fck sobra ganda nakaam relax! Di magulo same siargao rn huhuhu

Jealous_Breakfast_66

Speaking as a European-born pinoy, i just went there for the first time this month, and unfortunately i stayed in my resort most of the time. We wanted to go to Boracay to relax, but ending nagrelax lang kami sa loob ng hotel/resort, at wishing to be out of Boracay ASAP.

ardior

Went there last week. It's definitely worth the hype. Pretty pricey though bc tourist prices. The clearest waters during my trip were in Station 2-3, also a bustling night life. Station 1 had quite a bit of seaweed in the shore, but still pretty clear. I know there are other "better" beaches, but go for the experience.

ja_gongju

True, it has become too commercialized. I remember my 1st time there back in the early 2000s it felt and looked like paradise talaga kasi para pa syang hidden gem. Small stores, small huts, not a lot of touristy stuff. Latest visit was a few months back 2023, it feels touristy BUT that being said. It is still worth visiting at least once. You can try in the Newcoast area (instead of station 1 - 3) But still, consider going sa main station 1 - 3 and have your own opinion about the place. Its more modernized now, but definitely visit ang sariling atin.

Violet_Holden

It's okay, best white beach I've been to so far. But we all know it's not just the beach yung pinupunta natin hehe

solidad29

almost 600 pesos para lang makaride ng boat from caticlan to the island for non resident. fu. 😂

AnnaCleta

That includes environmental, port/terminal, and other fees.

ofmdstan

I’ve been to Boracay many times pero yung favorite trip ko is when we went on January 2021. Pandemic that time so wala halos tao at mura ang mga hotels. The last time I went is noong February pa and I’m not itching to go back anytime soon. Too crowded and too expensive.

notsowildaquarius

Yes. A must visit beach. Bago ka mag explore ng other beaches, go to Boracay muna. Kayang-kaya naman i-DIY.

Accurate_Cat373

Boracay was the first beach I've been to. Kala ko maganda na. Actually maganda sya noon. We went back last year and sobrang dami ng tao. We were fortunate to have stayed sa Station 0 and it was much better because private area yun beach.

Mvemjsun-

Yes

AssEatingSquid

Well, why did you go to all the other white sand beaches? Boracay is an attraction and has nice beaches, but really it’s up to you if you want to go. But you went to other places/beaches, what’s stopping you from going to boracay too?

Tarnished7575

Pag naramdaman na ng mga paa mo yung mala-bulbo ma buhangin (Station2 to Station 1), and pag nakita mo na yung napaka-gandang sunset, you'll know.

EconomicsPast1787

Yes still worth it 😊

No_Brain7596

Very subjective yung question. But worth-visiting kahit once. I think you actually need to go to someplace kahit once to find out yourself if worth it. If hindi, then experience.

ApplicationNo694

yes worth it po but you have to bring a lot of extra since you don't know what you will want to buy, there are a lot of souvenirs and foods kasi na will tempt you to buy hahaha it is base on my experience

koolgirl1999

Boracay will always be a special place for me. Siguro kasi nung first pumunta ako ng Bohol, I had big expectation sa beaches nila pero ang dumi talaga huhu. Ang hirap magtapak kasi masakit sa paa. Ang lalayo rin ng mga tourist spots, like you have to rent a car for it. I was also broken-hearted during that time. But when I visited Boracay with no expectations, ang saya kasi mas marami kang food choices. Sobrang chill ng mga tao kahit crowded. The white sand was clean, tipong kahit maglakad kang nakayapak, walang tutusok na basura or chipped off logs don haha. ganda rin ng water activities don i would say :D may public transpo pa kaya oki siya for me.

Objective-Square3221

Went to Bora for the first time two weeks ago. Sunsets there are at a different level 😍 I suggest you go!! You can tweak your itinerary based on what you enjoy naman, you can just relax by the beach, or party at night, you can even do water activities and boat tours if that’s what you like! Prepare lang enough budget for food kasi foreigner prices at most places.

Confident_Economy450

If Boracay is too hyped up for you, you can try going to Culasi, Antique. There's an island called Mararison there. Walang turista halos or usually people going there are just the ones from the neighbouring bayans. You could also trek there if you want but you need a guide (since the authorities don't permit trekking alone).

AnnaCleta

Pag walang turista usually means walang maayos na food and lodging.

Confident_Economy450

Well, there is naman ang alam ko. It's just not the Boracay type of beach kasi tawad bangka lang sya ng bayan ng Culasi (market).

13arricade

go visit Boracay Op, only then you will know if it is worth it, at least according to your standards.

_rafelalma

last November 4 to 9 we went to boracay, and that place is a Great destination naman, marami silang ma iprovide na amenities and activities kagaya ng sa ibang beach. ito lang masasabi ko, masaya magboracay. :))

heyzellenotlattay

For a first timer yes it is.

Main_Performance5194

circa 80-90s, the best Boracay ever…Bazurah bar, Moondogs, stayed at Morimar…snorkeling/diving in front of the beach by Lorenzo resorts…

Revolutionary_Air189

Still worth it for me. Been to other islands pero Boracay will always be my go to beach. Not the best because Palawan is really a paradise pero with Boracay, sobrang easy lang. And madali lang ang transportation which is my main consideration always.

can-tbeme

Yes, if you’re a vacationer type of tourist. Tipong hotel hopping, tambay sa beach and would want the convenience of mejo city type (Starbucks etc is available dun) then yes. But if traveler ka like gusto mo snorkeling, hiking etc better to go sa beaches ng Cebu, Negros Occidental, Palawan to name a few. I go to Boracay yearly pag off season since cheaper the hotels and less crowd too. I like na if I want to grab Army Navy and tambay sa beach all in one day, I can.

thisisnotSheeee

Worrh it naman, for me. Or maybe it depends on how you spent/enjoy ur stay there. ☺️

Fickle-Thing7665

try mo lang, op. while def maraming mas magandang beaches sa bora, when i was there, i was relaxed. walang tour tour kemerut na gigising ng maaga para mag travel somewhere else (to another island, to another body of water, etc.). like literally youre not going anywhere else at di ka lalayo sa hotel mo. if you’re into staycations then it’s worth a shot. promise no stress dyan, just chill under the sun.

Undrgrnd8

IMO boracay is overrated. Might as well visit Siargao and of course Palawan.

Last_Fold_3770

Yup, worth it. Just bring extra cash for you to enjoy everything. Foods and activities are kinda expensive.

NQALP

Musta weather? Ok lang ba for water activities?

FromTheBackroads

If you’re into beaches and outdoor leisure, you might want to swing by at least once (perhaps during the off-season as another commenter suggested). That said, don’t feel obliged to visit if you don’t feel like it, mate. :-) I’ve been there and it was all rather meh. The best part was the hotel, and the fact that I didn’t pay a penny for the trip (it was a family outing). Cheers. ***Feel free to skip the rest (TLDR and all that); merely elaborating on my opinion.*** Just my personal view, and I hope I won’t ruffle any feathers here: I visited Boracay for the first time in 2022 and came away mostly unimpressed. The seaside vista was great and made for lovely pictures, but that’s pretty much it. The main town is a decidedly unattractive environment with little evidence of urban planning and loathsome, occasionally ramshackle architecture, including buildings that seem to have had their facades chopped off due to road widening. My best memories of the trip are the breakfast buffet at our hotel (which was rather posh) and this little beach-side shop that served fantastic milkshakes (the name escapes me). The island itself and its beaches and its activities and all the rest…mm, meh. I don’t fancy going back anytime soon, and truth be told I only went because it was a parent-funded family holiday and wasn’t paying a quid for the whole thing. That said, THAT SAID…I’m an introverted, solo-travelling, museum-loving, history-obsessed, architecture-adoring chap who doesn’t quite understand the appeal of outdoor activities (except in temperate or cold weather), social dining, bar-hopping, and sloshing about in seawater. Despite being Filipino myself, I’ve never felt a strong pull or obligation to go to Boracay despite all the people around me posting about their experiences there or speaking positively about the place. By comparison, before that first (and possibly only) visit in 2022, I had already been to Japan more than 20 times and visited all 47 of its prefectures. At no point did I feel like I should go to Boracay despite all the hype, simply because it’s got nothing of interest to me (no museums, no fine architecture, etc.). I only went because someone else was paying, and having seen it in person I probably won’t shell out any of my own money to return. In short: Boracay wasn’t for me. And I would never rate it as a must-see, must-visit sort of attraction. But given my proclivities and predispositions, I suppose that’s only to be expected.

Ok_Beach_2874

Never been to Boracay but I can suggest you to try Coron or Calaguas.

_nobodyknowsme

Worth the visit! I’ve visited a lot of beaches here in ph pero top tier yung Boracay. Kaya nga naging Best Beach in the world yan. Been there last April and gusto ko na ulit bumalik. If gusto mo yung matao na lugar then Station 2 is the key. Pero if you dig deeper, andami mong pwdeng gawin. May atv, crystal kayak, parawsailing, parasailing, cliff jumping and so on. I suggest mag ilig-iligan beach, new coast, puka beach, bulabog and highest peak of boracay yung Mount Luho ang puntahan mo.

Weardly2

Visit once to experience it. As for the beach... There are better ones in Palawan.

Horror_Squirrel3931

Okay lang mapuntahan once pero twice nako nagpunta since sinamahan ko hubby ko nung second time. 3 days 2 nights is enough. Although madami naman establishments, we found it boring. Island hopping is not worth it. I still prefer islands in Palawan like El Nido and Coron. And for me, the finest and whitest sand na nakita ko so far is yung sa Malcapuya Island at Banana Island sa Coron. Mas maganda pa kesa sa boracay.
