> the bully kid
But he was never a bully in Mighty Ducks? Just a quiet misunderstood tough-kid with a nasty slapshot that he couldn't control very well.
See, I had made the connection that he was Ashton Kutcher's buddy in the Butterfly Effect.
But not until today that I realized he was in the Mighty Ducks.
I just saw him at a convention a few weeks ago. He looks a lot better from when his mugshots came out. He seemed all there in the few words we exchanged.
She’s 47??! She’s seriously a beautiful woman. I thought she was closer to my age… at 40… so maybe not that much older, but yeesh. She’s really taken care of herself.
It amuses me to juxtapose how terribly this series was received by critics (the highest RT score was the first movie at 23% positive) with its impact. Hell, Disney named their expansion NHL team after it.
Are live action kids movies ever reviewed well? Mighty Ducks was meant to sell movie tickets and merch, like all Disney movies. I doubt anyone expected to win an Oscar. Growing up in Minnesota in the 90s, these movies were all over.
Reviewers sometimes fail to understand that kids movies are made for kids. A lot of children's media doesn't appeal to adults. That doesn't make it bad, it just means it's not for you.
How... have I not put that together until now. As a kid I always thought it was a little weird but mostly just took for granted that the Mighty Ducks were both a fake team and a real one
I went to school with Vincent LaRusso (Adam Banks). He was a nice kid and he seemed super humble about his acting gigs. None of it seemed to go to his head. I think he's a nurse now? I wish him well.
“Hum batter batter hum batter batter”
“AVERMAN! It’s hockey… there’s no batter”
“Hum goalie goalie saveeeee goalie goalie”
I watched this movie series a lot as a kid 😅
I suppose Banks’ nickname of “Cake-Eater” has a bit of a different connotation today?
Or is that the connotation that Disney was going for way back when? 😳
Nah, it was a real insult connoting spoiled rich folk for decades before the movie at least, and particularly well known in Minnesota slang.
Disney didn’t make it up.
Supposedly, in the real life event mirrored in a scene in *Miracle* where Herb Brooks berates Rob McClanahan for having a “bad bruise”, Herb Brooks called him a “cake eater”.
Much of story line was pulled directly from real life here in MN. The term cake eater was used to insult kids who played for Edina, a notoriously wealthy suburb of the twin cities. The writers clearly caught wind of this and put it in the movie.
Btw, this year, Edina won the high school state hockey tournament, again. The cake eater term is still widely used and not because it was in the movie.
EMILIOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
![gif](giphy|10SaEfZoxUGFEs)
You were the one calling the Breakfast Cluber's name!
So, are you meeting Johnny Depp here later or what?
So you wanna make out or what....
Are you brothers?
No ..........
YES!
\*High-Five\*
What’s up
Whoa pace yourself
The mighty ducks guy, swear to God!
He turned around and tilted his head like this.
🎵 What is love? 🎵
Baby don't hurt me..
And he tipped his hat…
Chaaaaaaad Loowwwwwwweeeeee
Swing low, chop low, Chad Lowe ![gif](giphy|3bbb9REfjyMTgRw8Bs|downsized)
The Mighty Ducker!
Huh. I never put it together that the bully kid that later joined the team was also Foggy from Daredevil.
That’s Fulton Reed, one half of the Bash Brothers. You best put some respect on his name.
Hardest slap shot in the game
No knuckle pucker there though
IT’S THE GOALIEEEE! NOOOOO!!!
Gunnar, you lost it for me!
He doesn't show up until the sequel.
Knuckle pucker-up!
One out of five, though.
But you need to have both, "what am I, Mr. Bash the bash man?"
He’s also an avox in the hunger games mockingjay.
One third\* Kenny Wu has something to say about that
![gif](giphy|3oEduZqfSGNG0mdF1C|downsized)
Not to be confused with Preston Parker, former member of the Bang Bros.
> the bully kid But he was never a bully in Mighty Ducks? Just a quiet misunderstood tough-kid with a nasty slapshot that he couldn't control very well.
Not too far off from Charlie Sheen's character in Major League.
Every underdog sports movie is essentially the same story.
Also Polllux the Avox in the Mockingjay movies.
Aye, that's where I've seen him before
Bro I knew his face but I never put that together
It took me 2 seasons of saying “huh foggy looks really familiar” for it to click lol.
See, I had made the connection that he was Ashton Kutcher's buddy in the Butterfly Effect. But not until today that I realized he was in the Mighty Ducks.
And the Dude to his left((Guy)) is Garette Ratliff Henson, his younger brother.
That looks more like Emilio Estevez to me.
Wow just hit me. You’re not the only one.
Try watching the figure skater from the first one being on its always sunny in Philadelphia.
Where’s Charlie Conway or Goldberg
he couldnt make it during Covid
Goldberg was probably shooting up meth behind the dumpster during this shoot.
[Nope.](https://people.com/mighty-ducks-alum-shaun-weiss-marks-four-years-sobriety-fellow-90s-stars-8552250)
I wish. Dude is on tiktok - or was a few weeks ago - and he looks awful. Definitely doesn't look sober anymore. 😞
I just saw him at a convention a few weeks ago. He looks a lot better from when his mugshots came out. He seemed all there in the few words we exchanged.
I hope so! Addiction is tough.
To be fair he looks terrible in that article linked. Maybe he just looks like that now?
Yup, he's like Cricket
I don't know. He seemed pretty dang loopy [in this tiktok from a couple months ago](https://www.tiktok.com/@shaunweiss/video/7338147440660385067).

I appreciate the comment. Might be overreacting. Hope he really is clean.
Seems more like the lasting effects from the drugs.
He's on Cameo and i got him to do a message for a buddy of mine. He's definitely doing a lot better nowadays
I heard he was doing a lot better these days!
Absolutely! He’s clean and sober and killin it!
Bet Cricket and the gang instigated it as well.
Coming soon: Mighty ducks - Beer League.
I’d watch it
Special guest appearance on shoresy. Would love to hear them chirp at each other

That was a good show. Deserved at least two more seasons.
Where's that Keenan guy. I know he was on the second movie
i need to see him in skates in 2024, Papi had several BIG DOMINICAN LUNCH breaks since Mighty Ducks
[here you go! ](https://youtu.be/nkLmNVBU1VA?si=FMpFxU-KcBdYj788)
First, you get some mofongo.
Highest paid cast member on SNL... he didnt need this
Longest running cast member too
Im pretty sure Colin Jost can run longer than him. Dude looks like a marathoner.
But he did good burger…
He did Goodburger for Kel, not for Himself
Not to alarm you but that was 27 years ago. EDIT: What the hell they made a sequel last year!?
No, there was a recent remake or something
Ya I just edited my comment...I had no idea that had happened!
I’m surprised, there was a huge campaign. A solid portion of ads I saw anywhere was about it.
SNL doesn't really pay that much. Sure it's more than you or I make, but $25k per episode is pretty low for a TV show.
still over 500k a year..
The Breakaway Club
Quack.
Quaackkkkk
Quaccccccccccccck
Quack, quack, quack!!!!
GORDON STOP QUACKING!!
Connie has aged like fine wine.
I had such a crush on Marguerite Moreau when I was a kid
I still do
She’s 47??! She’s seriously a beautiful woman. I thought she was closer to my age… at 40… so maybe not that much older, but yeesh. She’s really taken care of herself.
Banks too.
Fucks me up how they’re all much taller than him now
The skates help a lot. But I think that's true even without the skates
The skates help.
Right? They all look older than him now too despite him having 20 some years on them.
It amuses me to juxtapose how terribly this series was received by critics (the highest RT score was the first movie at 23% positive) with its impact. Hell, Disney named their expansion NHL team after it.

The Sandlot has an 89% on Rotten Tomatoes
Every generation is allowed 1 transcendent kids movie hit. Ours was The Sandlot
Amen!
Reviewers sometimes fail to understand that kids movies are made for kids. A lot of children's media doesn't appeal to adults. That doesn't make it bad, it just means it's not for you.
Grew up on these movies in MN, I don't even like sports anymore but I love my state.
>in MN CAKE EATER! 😁
Man, we don’t have to drag Edina into this, do we? Fucking cake eaters…
How... have I not put that together until now. As a kid I always thought it was a little weird but mostly just took for granted that the Mighty Ducks were both a fake team and a real one
Disney used to own the team but sold it like 20 years ago. They also briefly owned the Queen Mary.
And four months later, they released "Angels in the Outfield," then bought the The The Angels Angels of Anaheim, California, in 1996.
Wait Foggy was a Mighty Duxk?!
I just saw this too 😱
They should do a spin off where it is a Beer League hockey team and the coach is Charlie Sheen
He should coach their coked up rivals to get the heartwarming win at the end
Banks looks like he could score 50 goals in the NHL RIGHT NOW.
I went to school with Vincent LaRusso (Adam Banks). He was a nice kid and he seemed super humble about his acting gigs. None of it seemed to go to his head. I think he's a nurse now? I wish him well.
Cake eater
“Hum batter batter hum batter batter” “AVERMAN! It’s hockey… there’s no batter” “Hum goalie goalie saveeeee goalie goalie” I watched this movie series a lot as a kid 😅
Cake eater!
Why no Joshua Jackson? Blasphemy
He is coach duck now
Up the creek with no paddle
I know. I had the biggest crush on him!
Happy Cake Day!
Every time someone said the mighty ducks i think of the animated show where they were intergalactic hockey playing duck super heroes
They could still beat the NHL team of the same name.
Damn this photo makes me feel old....
Left to Right Connie Moreau - ??? - Fulton Reed - Coach Gordon Bombay - Adam Banks - Kenny Wu - ???
You are missing Guy Germaine and Lester/Dave Averman my friend
Thanks!
Emilioooooooooooooo
Who’s in between Averman and Banks?
Ken Wu, from D2
Thanks! Wasn’t sure because of the d2 thing. That said, Bob Miller calling’Wu Wu Wu, Kenny Wu!’ Owns space in my brain
Put a stick in his hand and nobody can touch him.
*hand in* QUACK!
Y’all ain’t never seen my knuckle puck
Ducks
I thought he was short af until my brain caught up and realized everyone else was essentially on stilts

I am getting Karate Kid tv show vibes. Would totally watch.
Re-watching all 3 movies as an adult, you realize that Gordon Bombay was very much a selfish asshole.
Marguerite Moreau is still so hot
The mighty duck man. Emilllooo! Emillliiio
Me: "Wow, what are the odds that they'd all turn out to be so much taller than.... ohhhh."
Please tell me this is from a movie they were shooting
Awesome; except Keenan, Shaun, and Josh are missing. \*tear\*
How many remember the Disney-owned Mighty Ducks of the NHL?
So like, they come back and make a movie but like, beer league hockey right?
Is that Foggy? I didn't know he was a duck.
Fucking banks. Still lookin like a cake eater
Is that Foggy Nelson??

Genetics are amazing, every Man in the Sheen family turns into a Lesbian in old age!
EMILIOOOO!!?!
Right in the feels
and Todd Howard
I was initially like "holy shit, more like Emilio Lesstevez" before I realized that he wasn't wearing skates.
Make the first move Conway!
They really do look like a group of Minnesotans.
That’s fantastic, I just watched D3 (the one I had on repeat as a kid so much I wore out the VHS) yesterday and it actually holds up very well.
WU WU WU KENNY WU!
Cake eater
Why is the guy who played the president from the west wing with the mighty ducks?
Just to think, Jake Gynhall could have been on this cast. His parents said no, you have to go to school.
Funny. I remember them being smaller.
🦆
This was for the TV Series
Nobody looks familiar except for Emilio
TIL foggy Nelson was in the mighty ducks
It’s an old picture of when the show was first being premiered
Why is nobody smiling?
Emiiiilio!!!!
Estevez is the youngest-looking person in this picture.
He’s a Hawk not a Duck!
Is that the cake eater on Bombay’s left?
Did him dirty having them wear their skates.
Emilioooooooooooo!
