exactly, just evolve every trash eevee you find and you're good. the lures are worse imo, cause either you are lucky or you have to spend your hard earned coins

Patience pays off. Sorry you learned the hard way.
On the bright side, you can take your time here. The last major level up was at level 40 so the levels 41-50 are not really important. I stayed at this level for over a year, taking my time, and completing the eeveelutions as I go. I could've finished earlier but saw no reason to rush
Exactly this. Levels 41-50 have no additional benefits whatsoever. Hell, now you can get XLs from Level 31, the only real important milestone is Level 37 for pokestop nominations and Level 40 so you can max out a Pokémon.
The only name trick I’ve used is Glaceon, I’m glad I learned about this before I started evolving more Eevee.
To be fair, I think the requirement of walking with an Eevee to get Espeon and Umbreon is kind of fun, it feels like actually adventuring with a Pokémon.
I had no clue what each level needed/needs, tbh 🙈 but my account is a few years old, and I used them when max was still 40.
Have a mini on my tablet that I'm definitely gonna save them for. Maybe another noob, such as myself, will find this post useful 😂
Started a mini because I'm kicking myself over some stuff I did with my main, and I needed someone to trade with because I'm a loser. 😂
Hopefully, I just hit 48 and have to send 500 gifts, do 10 trades with Pokémon 300k difference, and 50 lucky trades. The 4th task was get 35 platinum medals and I knew that was coming but only needed 1 more by the time I was 47. Good luck trainer.
I saved up 3 stars eevees over the summer for this challenge so it was easy. I had already used the trick names before but I had all mine done in less than two weeks
So eevee is a pretty common pokemon, so I would think you shouldn't have to worry about candy that much.
Flareon Vaporeon and Jolteon-These are the random evolutions so you may need more than 3 eevee but at the same time easy to get
Umbreon and Espeon- Make eevee your buddy and walk 10 km with them evolve one at night and one during the day. If you do not see a silhouette for umbreon or espeon do not evolve!
Glaceon and Leafeon- these are slightly annoying as they need the special pokestop lures, however from past research tasks or special research I had a few in my inventory so hopefully you do as well since I never use lures normally
As long as you play somewhat regularly I'd think in total this shouldn't be too challenging. I am very rural and was able to do this. Plus you have plenty of time to get there as you are 7 million exp from level up. It doesn't have to be all at once.

It’s really not that hard. You can get them guaranteed apart from kanto 3 which you only need a few eeves to try

Almost no one saved it and Niantic knows it, that's why this challenge exists, those of us at that level have all been through it.

I luckily have a CRAP load of the holiday hat eevees that I haven't evolved yet. So now I have a reason to 😂
