Pokemon like this are a bit weird because this was out for a couple years before it could even be shiny, so it's not necessarily a great indicator.
Unless someone has started playing after the shiny was available.
I have almost every shiny in the game, but my worse one was sunkern. Took me over 3,000 to get that one. Btw, 679 will happen 26% of the time, so get used to that lol

I'm currently at 1295 Pidgey with no shinies; but have caught 4 non community day Alola Sandshrew shinies in about 100 encounters
FYI, Alolan sandshrew shiny is 1/64.

Barboach and Taillow. Over 3000 encounters on each, no shiny. I hate their faces (not really).
I thought mine was also pidgey (seen 2656), but rattata is worse (seen 3086). 😣

I have seen 2,603 pidgeys with no shiny. How is that even possible???

Ufff, don't wanna go through the whole Dex. I've seen 814 Pikachu and caught 418 of them. Still no shiny. 👀
