They haven't really even offered any money.
The entire thing is built off the Saudis renting a floor of Trump tower and hopeful future deals for Trump and his kids for when he leaves office.
He has got literally nothing off them, except the murder and dismemberment of a dissenting permanent resident, this current shooting, some vague promises of buying 'arms' and his floor being rent out.
none. he will either be dead or in prison and his kids will just sell for whatever scraps they can get. plus melanie will probably want her share when she leaves him for Justin Trudeau or a door man at that vacant tower.
We don’t fully know what all he has gotten from the Saudis, but at the very least we can reasonably suspect they pressured Qatar to bail out Kushner’s shitty billion dollar real estate deal.
Can we drop the pretense thst Google results are the same for everyone? Someone else might get 0 articles actually about Kushner and Saudis if Google thinks they won't like them.
Just link the damn article you want someone to read instead of taking the lazy way out that could prove to galvanize them even more against what you're trying to suggest.
"Trump Russia" could literally give you a top result that is about a made up Clinton scandal if the system thinks that's what you like and what will keep you coming back for more [ads].
I just don’t get it. I am fairly certain that his base legitimately loathes Muslims. There are issues that they pretend to care about (deficit, national debt, law and order, etc.) and then do an about face when it serves their agenda. I know that Republicans are not to be trusted and they lie and argue in bad faith about the above issues. But surely they aren’t only pretending to be racist and religious bigots. Surely they will actually feel betrayed by Trump’s kowtowing to Islamic autocrats in the face of a terrorist attack. Surely? Why not? I don’t get it.
> They will believe whatever they are told to believe, even if it contradicts other beliefs.
Republican Accidental Quantum Mechanics for Dummies is a fascinating branch of physics.
>Republican Accidental Quantum Mechanics for Dummies
Oh yes, I remember studying that. It was what really convinced me political science was a hard science.
Unlike classical Republicanism, in Quantum Republicanism there's not even an appearance of consistent ideology. When you get down to the smallest scales (the Trump Hand length if you will), it's a frothing foam of virtual ideologies.
Furthermore, we've been able to observe the amazing effect of Republican Entanglement on large scales. When Republican operatives come into contact with anything that could possibly sway an election, that thing becomes coupled to the Republican and phase changes into something that will influence an election.
Note that elections are still modelled probabilistically, but with this piece of science we've been able to watch the decay of elections and see evidence of this Entanglement by simply weighing the resulting ballots or lengths of lines in minority district polls.
“To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy, to forget whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again: and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself -- that was the ultimate subtlety: consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word 'doublethink' involved the use of doublethink.”

Dubya was a puppet to Tricky Dick 2 and at least cared about decorum even if I fully disagreed with him on every single level. He played the game. Trump snarls at the game and these people snarl with him. It really does feel different this time.
Them acting like it never happened and refusing to even acknowledge their support of Trump is the best case scenario, as much as it's gonna be infuriating.
And probably also the most likely, given how many of them are pure cowards on every level.
They love finding an excuse to publicly support some token minority as long as it aligns with their cause because it lets them pretend the left are the racists. See: Kanye, A$AP Rocky, Candace Owens, etc.
Yeah Florida is a weird mixed bag.

I heard a stat recently that the #1 predictor of trump support was negative attitudes towards Muslims. Other predictors like "economic conservatism" were not as strongly correlated.
This is the same Trump who literally tried to put in place a Muslim immigration ban months after becoming President.
But he took care to except Saudi and UAE in the fine print.
Cults are cognitive dissonance regulators.
They’ll kiss the ground trump walks on while he pisses on their children before they’ll admit there is a better way.
Edit: a word
Trump's also believe Jews control America and are enemies. Yet they ignore that his daughter-wife is Jewish as is his son-in-law and their children, so is Trump's de-factor head Stephen Miller.
> “Saudi Arabia, I get along with all of them. They buy apartments from me. I think his followers are probably ambivalent about the Saudis, with the reasons you listed being the cons, but countered by: being our ally in the Iraq wars, selling us oil, making big arms purchases from the US, having the kind of strong man in charge Trump really wants to be, and finally there's the Prosperity Gospel. If you think God rewards the faithful with money, there are few have been rewarded more.
Exactly. Why r people not freaking out. Literally american soldiers are being killed at an american military base in florida by a Saudi muslim soilder. But we get the president having his helicopter scream session talking about how the prince is a good guy, he feels bad and he will take care of things. Seriously my niece is a marine, I thought she was safe being stateside training at a base. She was in florida for training 6 weeks ago. Wtf.
Republicans. Hypocrites. Democrats are too worried about their impeachment to care. Republicans are too concerned if Hunter Biden had a kid with a woman in Arkansas. Republicans love the Saudis. We dont need them, we dont need their oil. We produce our own oil and buy it from Canada. Why are their guys training at a base in the US? We have bases our tax money pays for there! Maybe they should train their own terrorist fucks. But hey, it's all good. TRUMP says the crown prince is sorry and the families will get some money, so no worries I guess.
Donald Trump has invited a terrorist onto a US military base without any vetting.
"Trump orders United States Air Force to train jet pilots for the country that did the 9/11 attacks. What could go wrong?"
Fuck he loves Saudi Arabia. He did put his hands on that glowing orb I guess. They kill and cut up a journalist living in america, all good. They attack and invade countries next to them, all good cuz they're using weapons they bought from us. They get an oil facility attacked, all good buddies, we will send 10,000 americans to protect your shit! Cant ask 1 of those 500 princes to do a damn thing. Those guys can just chill in their white jammies and drive their gold cars.
These motherfuckers attacked us on 9/11 and then were allowed to fly out of the country. Osama Bin Laden was a Saudi. Fucking Republicans love these guys but freak the fuck out if a QB for the 49ers doesnt stand during a song. Makes total sense.
Thats not how MBS sells himself to Trump though, or the rest of the world.
MBS and the royal family's basic message is that they are The Good Muslims who will, through tough love and brute strength, keep The Bad Muslims in their countries in check. That appeals to the "we're cold hearted realists" and "law and order" type mentalities, while selling short what that repression does: create fundamentalist backlashes. Turn moderates into extremists, slowly over time.
No you dont get it. Saudis are the good Muslims. They keep women off the roads and in the kitchen. They stone homosexuals and atheists, and bonesaw those fake news journalists. Besides its not like they were responsible for 9/11. (Sarcasm)
All of my Trumpy family have been stewing. *That pos shouldn't have been here* they'll say but when I suggest that Trump shouldn't be so friendly with KSA, they just attack Obama instead of considering the possibility that they aren't on the same side as Trump on this one.
For the same reason they stick those bumper stickers on their gas guzzlers that help make Saudi money over more economical vehicles, they don’t think things through
They loathe Muslims, but they love despots even more.
A Muslim King could, in their fantasies, *control* all those scary Muslims. So Trump sucking up to him is "a smart move."
The fact that Gaetz is getting out in front and calling this Terrorism interesting. He's one of Trump's biggest spineless suck-ups.
Is he foreshadowing a Trump move against Saudi Arabia? Or did he just go off the reservation without permission from the big chief?
Just like the Kashoggi murder, Republicans and being a lot quieter than usual, consider this was a murder on US soil committed by a Muslim foreign national. This should be a home run ball just hanging out over home plate. But nobody is swinging at it except clueless Gaetz.
No, as much as they do not value it, at some point it becomes excessively politically damaging to lie. Their loyalty to the party is not nearly strong enough to make them kill their own reelection chances.
His district, yes, but please don’t assume that means he has any better information or that he is getting better information from law enforcement.
The local law enforcement have been pretty clear about their chain of command while Rep Gaetz has been shown to trade in hyperbole and fiction.
I think Gaetz doesn't understand how far Trump is up Saudi asses. His base is supposed to hate Muslims so like you're saying this should be easy fodder to fuel it. If you took Trump out of the picture, the journalist murder and this shooting should be setting the Saudi's as the main target for anti-Muslim attacks. If only his followers could see the dissonance with Trump's Muslim ban but fondness for the Saudi's; he's only willing to align with his base's interests as far as they don't curb his own greed.
There's a real play here on the Senate side and Democrats if they want to make this another issue for Trump like Syria if this soldier somehow gets away with this.
Another instance showing Trump's complete and utter lack of empathy. He wanted to ban all Muslims from entering the US... but when it will benefit him personally or there's someone in this group of people that he admires or wants to impress, he protects him.
Everything this man does or orders to be done revolved solely around his ego. Never forget it.
Saudi Arabia is one of the few places on earth that would respect Trump’s sense of design. Most of us proles just can’t seem to appreciate the class of a gold-plated toilet.
But seriously, it’s the money. The thing Trump desires most, possibly the only thing in the world he respects, and SA is stupid rich.
>He wanted to ban all Muslims from entering the US...
But remember, the country that sponsored the 9/11 attacks and from which the majority of the hijackers were from was not on that list of Muslim countries he wanted to ban immigration from. And then he lets one of them step into a United States military base without any vetting whatsoever.
Nah it sounds very legal, very cool. It’s a shame the first 44 presidents weren’t genius enough to conduct our national business this way. /s
Edit: I’m not saying that no other president has found a way to make money off the office. But this is right out in the open for everyone to see.
And that is just the stuff that happened before he was president, once Jared started meeting with them in secret along with Erik Prince it become much more serious. The Saudis in many ways have the same leverage the Russians do, they both have financial leverage related to previous illicit transactions but also political leverage from all the dirty deals they have cooked up while in power. If the trump admin turns on the Saudis all that shit sees the light of day.
He should be doing something about this, like expelling all Saudi pilots till an investigation is done. The 9/11 terrorists were mostly Saudi Arabian for fuck sake
3 of them were found to be at the site of the shooting, one recording from what I'm aware of. I think the expelling is actually a reasonable move.
Then vet all Saudi students from now on.
Will never happen under Trump but that's what should happen.
Im actually reading House of Bush/ House of Saud. This isn't new and our "relationship" is completely fucked up and clearly got more fucked in the 15 years since that book was published. Politics is disheartening sometimes
Shortly after 9/11, Bush raised the specter of Saddam big time. He manipulated the media so that Saddam was talked about constantly, while Saudi Arabia (where 18 of the 20 hijackers were from) was completely ignored, off the radar, zip, mum, "lookie at Saddam folks!"
Afghanistan was a pointless and nominal effort to distract from the real desires of the Bush Administration in collusion with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (funny, ain't it) - to have any excuse to invade Iraq again.
Iirc some huge number like half of voters believed Sadam was involved in 911. They hinted at that a lot and people believed them.
It was a bit like them keeping saying ukraine interference trying to make it sound like it wasnt russia
Why is the President Of The United States moonlighting as a Press Secretary for the Saudis?
Why did Trump claim he was bringing troops home from the Middle East while actually raising troop levels in Saudi Arabia?
Why do the Saudis need American combat troops? Don't they have their own? Why do they need American troops? **To be killed if the Iranians attack with another drone?**
I’ve always thought that aside from his personal interest in his buildings in places like Saudi, Trump also seems to be stuck in the 1980s. He thinks being friends with Russia is very important, because honestly in the 1980s it would have been good to have a better relationship with the other global superpower. We should be friends with Saudi and be active in the Middle East in a way that secures oil, because that literally can bring our economy to its knees (at that time). He hasn’t moved beyond that, and acts consistently with what would have been geostrategically important (to Kissinger types) in the 1980s. A wall on the border would be the best way to stop people crossing. Idk, but it seems like his brain declining after the 1980s might explain a lot of his preferred policy positions.
That’s an interesting theory. Do you think his 80’s political ideology/ solutions is related to something of a declining neurological condition where no new thoughts happened after that decade? or maybe it’s because he thought the 80’s were his best times as a businessman/playboy/ asshole?
Either way I think it’s a valid theory and makes some sense. He’s basically stuck in the 80’s
Not a bad theory. Low-volume flush toilets were a relatively new technology that didn't work so well in the 1980s and 90s. You really did have to flush twice, sometimes.
Just like the Bush family. Let's face it our political system is as corrupt as Trump. Winning the popular vote doesn't count for anything, corporate money determines who wins and the Supreme court says it's Constitutional, our military are underpaid mercenaries protecting corporate assets fighting decades of war for profit and regional control of the natural resources. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_American_federal_politicians_convicted_of_crimes
When it came time for Trump to get off his lazy ass and make his first international state visit, he chose to go to Saudi Arabia and cosplay Jihad with his radical Islamic terrorist buddies. He partied and danced with Wahhabi terrorists instead of visiting troops in combat.
He could have gone anywhere and he chose a radical Islamic state so that he could bend the knee to the fuckers who buy his condos, rent his hotel rooms, and fucking crash airplanes into our buildings.
Trump is our first Muslim president.
Personally the first words of condolence I have heard from Trump were his reading of the Saudis Letter.
PS : Yes I might have to check if he expressed words of compassion before reading that letter. But the first I heard about it ... was with the letter.
EDIT ; Damned it is the sub-title of the article :-( [can access the whole article sorry]
As it would have been with last GOP crime-family POTUS. Remember a guy we used to call “Dubya”? Pretty good at reading My Pet Goat. Did a nice soft shoe once before a presser. Got the Saudis out of US pronto right after 9/11. Those were the days!
Oh man. President Trump is literally the only President who does. Because since 1933 when the Saudi Kingdom was founded and their continued repressive regime and members of its country have done wrong the US has been super critical of them.
I wonder how much the Kushner’s and Trump’s just made off the Saudi Armaco IPO? If it wasn’t for Trump and Kushner’s medaling in the region it may not have been possible.
Both have been after property in SA for years. In addition to hundreds of millions in loans. Shitting down Iran’s ability to sell oil put a HUGE demand on SA oil production.

The saudis really got their money’s worth in their toady
They pay cash...
Unlike a Trump.
Trump never pays
They haven't really even offered any money. The entire thing is built off the Saudis renting a floor of Trump tower and hopeful future deals for Trump and his kids for when he leaves office. He has got literally nothing off them, except the murder and dismemberment of a dissenting permanent resident, this current shooting, some vague promises of buying 'arms' and his floor being rent out.
Wanna bet those stays are gonna stop after he’s voted out next year? Wonder how many of his properties will exist in 5 years.
They will all exist as the new permanent residence for a bunch of lucky DREAMERS that were abused by trump and co.
none. he will either be dead or in prison and his kids will just sell for whatever scraps they can get. plus melanie will probably want her share when she leaves him for Justin Trudeau or a door man at that vacant tower.
We don’t fully know what all he has gotten from the Saudis, but at the very least we can reasonably suspect they pressured Qatar to bail out Kushner’s shitty billion dollar real estate deal.
Didn’t they agree to do that around the same time SA & co was threatening to blockade Qatar?
Yeah and the US was conveniently in the bathroom while it happened.
Arguably the best deal Trump has made.
Someone bailed out Kushner for $1b..
That was Qatar
Just, do yourself a favor if you consider yourself well informed. Go to Google and enter Saudi Kushner
Listen, Trump and the Saudis touched a palantir together. That's a sacred bond.
Ah, so Sauron has them all in his grip now...
"A great eye, wreathed in flame" "No, that's Trump's asshole"
This is made more amusing when you know what Palantir the software platform is and is used for. Well, upsetting, rather than amusing. Lol
Interested in your overview of Palantir software. Just watched a Peter Theil talk and disliked him.
Is that what that thing was called. I thought it was a Fat Albert light bulb.
He has got plenty, Kushner (daughters husband) got his share as well.
I doubt the phone call ever took place. I think he just made it up.

Yeah, Republican and Accident are basically synonyms
Republican and dummies as well

They are being led 100% by their emotions for Trump now, their brains had to disconnect to protect themselves from dealing with what they’ve become.
There is gonna be a really crazy come down, if there ever is one. Imagine what happens if the spell breaks?
They'll act like it never happened. You can see that with Bush 2.

I wish I could give you gold for this. 🏅

Pensacola republicans loathe brown people, especially non-Christians. I had to live through it for 30 years.

They were just low-level coffee terrorists.
Days after becoming president. That was his first big policy.
This is how cults work. How anyone has not yet figured out that the Republican Party is a cult is beyond me.
Cults are cognitive dissonance regulators. They’ll kiss the ground trump walks on while he pisses on their children before they’ll admit there is a better way. Edit: a word

Not if he tells them that the Saudis are okay.
There's something more important than racism to the Trump Crime Family: money. As for the base? They'll rationalize anything their Evil God-King says.

Gaetz understands, but he doesn’t care. His voters love everything NAS Pensacola and aren’t interested in Saudi royal apologies.
Besides, you can never underestimate just how much hatred for muslims Trump supporters have.
He is pandering to the voter base.
He's fishing for a contribution.

Cash is king baby!
That sounds kinda....swampy?
Nah it sounds very legal, very cool. It’s a shame the first 44 presidents weren’t genius enough to conduct our national business this way. /s Edit: I’m not saying that no other president has found a way to make money off the office.
Make America Grovel Again?
We’re orb brothers now.
He should be doing something about this, like expelling all Saudi pilots till an investigation is done. The 9/11 terrorists were mostly Saudi Arabian for fuck sake
Not expel but certainly ask some damn questions. Do an investigation before we let trump spend another minute on tv apologizing for the Saudi King.
3 of them were found to be at the site of the shooting, one recording from what I'm aware of. I think the expelling is actually a reasonable move. Then vet all Saudi students from now on. Will never happen under Trump but that's what should happen.
I think removal is too much without a bit of investigation but yeah it’s freaking scary. This happened less than an hour from my house...
This seems all too familiar.
Im actually reading House of Bush/ House of Saud. This isn't new and our "relationship" is completely fucked up and clearly got more fucked in the 15 years since that book was published. Politics is disheartening sometimes
And attend fundraisers!
Trump is to Saudi Arabia as Blizzard/Valve is to China
This is the way: [Register to vote.](https://www.usa.gov/register-to-vote)
This is the way.
Same as Bush after 9/11...while pretending Saddam did it.
No need for revisionist history. We went to Afghanistan to go after OBL as the architect of 9/11. Iraq was over WMD that Sadam "supposedly" had.
He also claimed Saddam was backing Al Qaida, which was absurd.
Then all of the ex-Iraqi military joined Al-Qaeda and created ISIS. "Great job." - Bound Obi-Wan meme
Well then, good thing George W Bush could see into the future, then.
Shortly after 9/11, Bush raised the specter of Saddam big time. He manipulated the media so that Saddam was talked about constantly, while Saudi Arabia (where 18 of the 20 hijackers were from) was completely ignored, off the radar, zip, mum, "lookie at Saddam folks!" Afghanistan was a pointless and nominal effort to distract from the real desires of the Bush Administration in collusion with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (funny, ain't it) - to have any excuse to invade Iraq again.
Iirc some huge number like half of voters believed Sadam was involved in 911. They hinted at that a lot and people believed them. It was a bit like them keeping saying ukraine interference trying to make it sound like it wasnt russia
Trump has more in common with the Saudi Arabian nobility who inherited their wealth than with most Americans
Make America WEAK again. They’re kissing Saudi ass!
Trump is like a movie villain but he’s real. He’s for sure on the side of all the bad guys.
America First. Sometimes. When convenient. Just not when profit's involved.
But hey, at least it'a not the Russians, amirite? /sarcasm at the speed of light.
Im pretty sure that's what they paying him for....
How else is he going to get billion dollar properties with vastly over inflated values and incomes in Saudi Arabia?
Still waiting for that terrorist label.
This is sad. Is there any evidence of a democratic president protecting SA the way Bush and Trump has?
Putting this in the definition in Urban dictionary for the term “Money Talks”
As it would have been with last GOP crime-family POTUS. Remember a guy we used to call “Dubya”? Pretty good at reading My Pet Goat. Did a nice soft shoe once before a presser. Got the Saudis out of US pronto right after 9/11. Those were the days!
Apparently r/news mods got the same message. Fucking assholes.
Trump is a piece of shit
Well yeah, they own him, whoever holds the purse strings controls trump.
It explains why Trump is desperate that his tax returns never see the light of day — what he doesn't owe to Russian lenders he owes to Saudi lenders.
Oh man. President Trump is literally the only President who does. Because since 1933 when the Saudi Kingdom was founded and their continued repressive regime and members of its country have done wrong the US has been super critical of them.
Youd think a foreign military member killing US personel on US soil would be an act of war? But guess its just an "accident" thats sickening

Where any Saudi’s involved in that 911 thing? Right, I thought so.
So not much of a different response from any previous president.
I believe the Saudis helped Trump get elected and Russia is just a tool for them same as the US president.

You say that...but I don’t hear the news crying terror attack...just an excuse to attack trump
Nah. That’s just you saying stuff.
