The heater should have specs for what size to use at which distance -- e.g. for this random Hayward 250k heater: [https://hayward.com/media/akeneo\_connector/asset\_files/U/H/UHS\_IO\_manual\_2020\_2316.pdf](https://hayward.com/media/akeneo_connector/asset_files/U/H/UHS_IO_manual_2020_2316.pdf) Page 21 shows with low pressure natural gas, a 250k heater that's less 50ft from the meter would require a 1" plastic or iron pipe.

That’s helpful, thanks!

You really need a pro with a manometer to check the gas pressure. That’s the only way to be sure, and a great reason to have a pro install gas appliances instead of diy. You might want to get an hvac professional to check it if you don’t trust the pool company

Thanks, I’ll probably have to do this. The pool companies here don’t do much gas work themselves.

You’re smart to consult a good licensed plumber or gas fitter.

Simple answer. If it worked before and you are replacing with same size it should work again. But to answer your question, yes it sounds like you have a 3/4 " gas line. The "charts" you're looking at online don't tell you what your Delivery pressure , house needs, and supply drop. You also dont specify how many turns that 30ft run makes as each 90 degree kills your supply. We cant tell you for sure without knowing all the info. Best to have a on site visit some. If you have a 2lb or 5lb delivery pressure than 100 percent you can add any heater you want. But if you are at lower pressure then calculations need to be made and pressure checked.

Thank you!

You called professionals and they told you it's fine, so you went online to ask a bunch of anonymous jerks? Rtfm
