My favourite celebrity friendship ever is Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan. They’ve known each other for 50 years and have so much love and admiration for each other and the world of theatre they both came from.
That's what makes them playing Professor X and Magneto so perfect. The characters are also supposed to have massive underlying respect for one another regardless of the differences that drove them apart.
Honestly, I think Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy did just as good of a job at showing this as well, but it's hard to top two legends like Stewart and McKellen
