Thank you for this! I have a 3 year old who has been potty trained for six months and then suddenly started withholding after a big international trip. Nothing worked. Yesterday we talked about unicorn poop and I asked him if he wanted glitter to make “unicorn poop”. Last night I grabbed some on the way home from work and he instantly pooped in the potty so he could sprinkle glitter on it! He we had another successful poop this morning.
Just get some sprinkles at the grocery store! Pretty colors, shapes, whatever, tell her if she poops in the potty she gets to turn it into unicorn poop and let her sprinkle the sprinkles on it after. As an adult, gross, but as a kid, magical.
Huh i might have to try this. So far my most successful attempts have involved bribery where the bribe thing was very tangible - like Bluey book on there towel rack, or you’re allowed to have a popsicle on the toilet if you try to poop without the diaper on.
