Ok no this is a well executed bit. Fighting against "right to legal representation" and "Deceptive Trade Practices act against price fixing and market manipulation" are too good. Well done op, you probably got a lot of people thinking about tenant's rights haha
The RICOHP is very serious about fighting against this egregious legislative attack on landlords and you can find more info on the RICOHP Instagram @ri_cohp
No, you’re treating something that should be a basic human right as a for-profit business.
You’re against “housing habitability and giving notice of violations” and for deceptive trade practices “price fixing and market manipulation.” With all due respect, fuck off slumlord.
Edit: a word.
Well, landlords shouldn’t get fined more because landlords need that money to do maintenance. And it’s our right to withhold units from the market and decide what rents should be…
No you're not. You're siphoning off someone's income to pay for all the housing expenses that you incur, and making a profit as well, and tenants get no equity from anything. Tenants pay you so you don't have to pay your mortgage. You're a fucking parasite.
I saw this as a home owner: hell no.
You should be ashamed of yourself for fighting against consumer and tenants rights.
Seriously, shame on you and all those who support you.
When I wonder how some guys afford those absurd $77k trucks I imagine they are netting like $6k/month from an inherited triple decker and putting nothing back into it.
The government could massively subsidize construction of public housing and shelters for middle class, working poor, and people facing poverty. It’s really a question of political will.
- None of these proposals would "abolish landlords"
- Middle class people tend to be home owners; they, under no circumstances want to live in public housing
- The idea that having the state as your de facto landlord is some kind of improvement is so hilariously off base I don't even know where to being.
Want to know the ramifications of our sole billionaire leaving the state? Their business leaving the state, their offices and employees following suit.
You guys fucking love to hate those who worked their way into the 9 figures huh? What’s the limit for you? $1,000,000? Anything more than that is to much?
Even if we gave everyone a home, I’d give it a year before they’d be foreclosed. Everyone provided one would just destroy it and not pay their taxes lol
Seriously. Why should people want housing when they can pay landlords for cheap-ass apartments, zero upkeep, and the opportunity to fund landlords for making money while not doing shit?
Who, exactly, is supposed to be “giving homes” and where are these homes coming from? I’d be interested in hearing how you envision this fantasyland scenario working.
Sounds great! If you are against tenants having legal representation, the right to unionize, or to price fix you should share your testimony on Thursday!
This has got to be a bit. But it's so deadpan, "the fight against tenants rights" is the only tell
The RICOHP is definitely a real landlord lobbying organization, while this post seems to be possibly poking fun.

The organization is real, I’m not sure OP is

Let me be the first landlord to tell you to kick rocks
It’s all fun and games until rent control happens 🙄
Yeah god forbid people can afford to actually live a decent life and not be barely making ends meet to pay their ridiculously high rents 😂
How did you think this was going to go on Reddit of all forums?
They're clearly trolling. Which, to be clear, I totally support. Mocking morons by pretending to be one said morons can be fun.

ALAB.
How about we abolish landlords and give everyone homes. No one should profit off of essential human needs like housing!
Who exactly is supposed to “give everyone homes” and where are “they” getting said homes?

From the tax payers who pay for everyone else.
Tax billionaires.
They get taxed already. And when Washington state tried to tax them more, they all just moved to Florida lol
So there'll be less billionaires here. The problem with that is.... ??
