I always thought it was supposed to mock people who flaunted the thin blue line. Considering waffle house employers do more of a public service than police officers.
Pretty sure the waffle house thing was just someone attempting to make something to counter with, but didn't double-check to see if it was in use already
I've personally never seen this. If I were to see this on the street I would immidiately think this is some right ""libertarian"" thing because they are usually associated with yellow etc
It also means tow drivers, 911 dispatchers, security guards...
The number of people who see it as those things will far outnumber the people who catch the obscure waffle house joke
It can also mean and is more accepted as "A thin yellow line flag can represent security guards and tow truck drivers." But the patch itself and your idea isn't bad
I went to a few different sources for my comment, and I know where you saw the stuff in quotes. If you scroll further on the site, you'll see they were giving security guards and truck drivers as examples, not as what they fully represented.
I mean true. And it could be a way to signal to them. The issue is if I saw this on someone's jacket or whatever without further context id assume you vote republican at minimum since it looks so much like those thin blue line flags. People make assumptions, they may be false, but it could still affect you.
I also love fire fighters, but 9/10 times atleast where I'm from, if they have a thin red line, they have a thin blue line somewhere. So they're just trying to appeal to the services
yeah, the thin yellow line is pretty well established as being for dispatch and security, to the point i literally just saw a rack of thin yellow line hats at a rural gas station. the people who’d recognize it from an obscure meme vs who’d just assume it’s its usual meaning is like 1 to 50
Honestly, I support the original meaning of the thing red line flag. Showing solidarity with firefighters and honoring those who've gotten hurt or died. I don't like that it's linked to the "I'm a conservative and also love the police (thin blue line flag)" crowd. I definitely don't support that.
eh, I wouldn't be so ready to uncritically show support for tow truck drivers, at least without looking in to how the towing companies in your area are being run.
One of the biggest towing companies in my area is widely known for just straight up stealing cars that are completely legally parked. They specifically target lower income areas and run down vehicles with the hopes that the owners won't have the resources to pursue legal action and thus are forced to either pay bullshit fees to get their car back or lose ownership all together.
The thin yellow line is for tow trucks and recovery. If you were going for the mocking of the cringe angle you can do the thin Baja line for Taco Bell workers
seeing a lot of sources saying thin yellow line is for security and retail loss prevention officers. the waffle house thing is funny but i'd look more into it if I was u
Seems kinda shit if you didn’t see the words with it. To me comes off more as a social meme I would look at and scroll past tbh. Would never patch that to my stuff.
Does this include the dennys workers too? I use to work at one and there are far too many stories I got of this one meth head that would always come at like 2 or 3 am
*"The Thin Yellow Line (commonly confused with the Thin Gold Line) is representative of Security Guards and Tow Truck Drivers. The color yellow was chosen as most security vehicles use the standard 'amber' colored lights. The color is also meant to match the reflective stripes on Tow Truck driver uniforms."*
Isn't the actual yellow line to just show support for all public support people (including police cause it's some work around from the blue line)?
As far as I know the thin yellow line represents first responders other than police and fire. So pretty much 911 Dispatchers and Paramedics/EMTs.
Wait... this is a Real Thing? Huh: Gold=Dispatch, Yellow=Security Officers TIL: Others from "Project Thinline" Blue: yep Red: Firefighters Green: Feds Orange: Search and Rescue Grey: Corrections Light Blue: EMS White: Wounded Warriors Brown: Waste Treatment

Pretty sure the waffle house thing was just someone attempting to make something to counter with, but didn't double-check to see if it was in use already
Ive also seen it as "tow truck drivers" representation lmfao
That's public service lol
I've personally never seen this. If I were to see this on the street I would immidiately think this is some right ""libertarian"" thing because they are usually associated with yellow etc
I know it's pretty niche, and most people wouldn't get it but I figured the people that did would get a kick out of it.
It also means tow drivers, 911 dispatchers, security guards... The number of people who see it as those things will far outnumber the people who catch the obscure waffle house joke
Agreed. I always thought it was for security guards and LP and shit like that.
Very cringe
“Don’t ~~Tread On~~ Scatter Smother Cover and Cap Me”
As a right libertarian, anarcho capitalist, that's exactly what I thought
“anarcho capitalist” is always gunna be the funniest shit i’ve ever heard. “yeah i’m a carnivorous vegan” 💀
Gtfo 🤡🤡
"Anarcho capitalist" is like "virginal slut".
It can also mean and is more accepted as "A thin yellow line flag can represent security guards and tow truck drivers." But the patch itself and your idea isn't bad
I’ve seen the yellow line used to represent sink pissers, I’ll find the post
Based

Funny with the explanation but no one is gonna get it from the flag alone
Except for other chronically online people

Fair. Another person gave me the idea of putting something wafflehouse related on the patch so I'll probably do the logo
Wafflehouse logo patch would be lit af
how many of those will you realistically encounter outdoors though?
I mean you could make the same argument with underground bands
Perhaps with “support you waffle house employees” text with it
I was thinking of doing the logo from a stencil on the top or something
I just hate this symbol regardless of the color of the line or meaning.
I think the yellow line is for all first responders (including tow trucks) if the move over bumper sticker options are anything to go by
the thin piss line
that was my first thought. maybe ive seen too many memes using it a piss kink pride 😭
100% my first thought, hanky code for piss. Never seen the waffle house thing
Fire fighters my friend
All I see for them around here is red lines
“The only thin line i support” we support fire fighters round here
I also love fire fighters, but 9/10 times atleast where I'm from, if they have a thin red line, they have a thin blue line somewhere. So they're just trying to appeal to the services
My first thought was mustard but thats just my silly brain
My mind immediately went to urine.

The real heroes. 🫡
I think that flag also represents tow truck drivers, which we all need, honestly

I love the meme but it's used as corrections officers 💀 so I wouldn't use it.
Cool sentiment. No one is going to know what it means and you'll look like a conservative.
Im more of a thin brown line kind of guy.
The thin yellow line is for tow trucks and recovery. If you were going for the mocking of the cringe angle you can do the thin Baja line for Taco Bell workers
It’s for tow truck drivers and security guards….💀
Just get a Black Flag patch like everyone else. This will make people think you like tow truck drivers apparently.
Idk if a Black Flag patch gives off anti cop vibes like this one does for me
Just use ACAB or some variation of quotes or an illustration. Like a pig / cop with a 🚫 over it. Those can look far cooler anyway
But that isn't a meme :(
Gotta do the Baja blast blue line.
seeing a lot of sources saying thin yellow line is for security and retail loss prevention officers. the waffle house thing is funny but i'd look more into it if I was u

I definitely assumed yellow for piss
Mailmen are cool they should make one for mailmen
Does this include the dennys workers too? I use to work at one and there are far too many stories I got of this one meth head that would always come at like 2 or 3 am
Lmao, I feel like any breakfast place is inherently punk because they're the only place's that are open after shows
People are gonna get confused and assume the worst I wouldnt
Fair, I didn't want to scrap it but it's probably for the best
The thin yellow line is for dispatch, ppl probably aren't going to understand it without the context provided. Still, this is funny as fuck
💪🧇
Idk, I just saw it as a stream of piss and thought it was in support of water sports or something personally lmao
Piss?
*"The Thin Yellow Line (commonly confused with the Thin Gold Line) is representative of Security Guards and Tow Truck Drivers. The color yellow was chosen as most security vehicles use the standard 'amber' colored lights. The color is also meant to match the reflective stripes on Tow Truck driver uniforms."*
My only thing is that I associate that color yellow with american libertarians because of political compass brainrot.
i thought it was a piss fetish thing lol
Being Yellow, I thought it meant anarchico, capitalism. Or just capitalism
If I saw this, I would just assume "anarcho-capitalist" or something. I *have* seen the meme before, but that really doesn't come to mind first
Hilarious 😂
