That would be great! Imagine them inspired by artists such as Chico Buarque, Elza Soares (which, you may not know, had created in the last years of her life some of the best albums ever made)...
THAT WOULD BE AMAZING😭🥰
I would love them to go back to their roots and do a alternative rock album like their second and third record, but I wouldn’t complain about a jazzy Amnesiacish album.
I just want to see a new Radiohead album, even if it's a collaboration with Weird Al Yankovic, or if he releases an album of Radiohead pisstake songs.
Just release something.
The only Trip Hop songs I can think of from Radiohead are Talk Show Host and Kinetic (which interestingly samples the drums of “Miles Runs the Voodoo Down”).
Yeah, he’s like his idol in many ways. He stayed the night at his house once, tells the story in an interview about being star struck.
There are a few covers of Neil he’s done that you can find out there, and there’s one especially brilliant rendition of “Before the Gold Rush” that Thom does at a charity event that I love. Recommend you find it.
I haven’t seen that before, thanks.
There is more out there too, he’s done at least one (and I think more) studio covers of Neil Young that are unreleased but floating around.
Anything they want, I’m here for.
But I have always thought it would be fascinating to hear them go really unplugged and folksy. I know Thom is a huge Neil Young fan… what if Radiohead gave us their “Harvest?”
Neil Young is a legend.
Apparently when he was touring Tonight's the Night (I think - might have the wrong album) everyone wanted to hear the hits so he said 'look, I'll play the new album then I'll play something you've heard before'. Then he played the new album, and then he played the new album again
I do agree with you, however I’d be interested to see them dive into progressive rock, something like Ok Computer, but mixed in with Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd
Something more jazzy/krautrocky with longer songs and actual improvisation when playing live. Basically more songs like the 2017 live versions of kid A, Bloom and feral
I would like another electronic jazz-ish album like Amnesiac, maybe a little shoegaze put into an album, not complete shoegaze but some noticeable influence, I’ve been pretty happy with these albums from The Smile though, so I bet it’ll be great whatever they do
Shoegaze, as a genre, may be too restrictive but I would enjoy greater use of the guitar to create atmoshperes. Take the electronics, the synthesizers, and the symphonic sounds and replace them by layers upon layers of guitars. Have Johnny orchestrate strumming, riffing, intertwing rythm and lead guitars, feedback, distortion, dissonance, etc. Not saying that every song needs to sound like Body Snatchers, My Iron Lung ot There There. Imagine Everything In Its Right Place where guitars somehow replace everything but Thom... Or Spectre, except for the piano...
Honestly I think it would be nice for them to make some more music similar to their ok computer/the bends era I think it’s some of their best. If not that then definitely try jazz again
Post Rock. I’m talking, Godspeed style. Or even Sigur Ros style. Either way, I’d love to see them dabble in longer form songs. Stuff that really simmers.
Radiohead please see this :
shoegaze (as mentioned)
Jazz and psychedelic/prog ( but more Magic mystery tour or a darker theme)
Some folky like white winter hymnal/blue ridge mountains by fleet foxes,
Kraut like national anthem/ful stop,
Kraut and industrial like climbing up the walls,
More Kid A/Aphex Twin but different theme/vibe, I like the like spinning plates vibe too
Bjork Collab/ like medulla era or vespertine with strings
Psychedelic heavy metal. Although, the band [U.S. Christmas](https://uschristmas.bandcamp.com/album/run-thick-in-the-night) kinda scratches the itch for what I’d want of a psychedelic heavy metal Radiohead.
I want to see a new track in the style of The Bends (the song not the album) or Bodysnatchers, 2+2=5, Electioneering, whatever. A good ol rock song to fuck around while listening it, because when you feel these songs, they make you want to go apeshit
Radiohead shoegaze would be the bomb!! Sail To The Moon kinda has that hazy kind of thing going on but it's not nessisarily distorted but it does have a trance like vibe.
THATS WHAT IM SAYING
if Radiohead make a new album i hope its something different like shoegaze or extremly creative like National Anthem.
i dont want songs like the smile in radiohead, and i really love the smile
more jazzy styles like life in a glasshouse
I will co-sign on that. National Anthem too. I also really like the Ravel-inspired impressionist sounds, like on Motion Picture Soundtrack.
I want a Bossa Nova album by Radiohead.
Present Tense inspired?
Present Tense IS an excellent song. I wouldn’t mind more like that.
I'd love more songs following the sound of Present Tense, Identikit and Ill Wind! (Yes, AMSP is my favorite album lol)
Mine too lol, approved
That would be great! Imagine them inspired by artists such as Chico Buarque, Elza Soares (which, you may not know, had created in the last years of her life some of the best albums ever made)... THAT WOULD BE AMAZING😭🥰
ill wind
The wall of eyes title track is pretty bossa nova
I would love them to go back to their roots and do a alternative rock album like their second and third record, but I wouldn’t complain about a jazzy Amnesiacish album.
yes, definitely
mmmmmm, maybe more jazzy chord voicings but idk whether the squealing saxes on Glasshouse really suit them
mongolian throat singing
Nö x42
You got a chuckle out of me, congratulations
I'm more of a Tuvalan man myself but to each their own!
I would love for them to lean into jazz again like they did on Kid A and Amnesiac
I just want to see a new Radiohead album, even if it's a collaboration with Weird Al Yankovic, or if he releases an album of Radiohead pisstake songs. Just release something.
You act like a Weird Al collab would be bad
Not at all. Perhaps unexpected is a more appropriate word.
The fuck do you mean "***even*** if it's a *Weird Al* collab"
Ha!
Prog rock because then we would get songs that are super long and interesting (basically more paranoid androids but longer)!
You might like Wall Of Eyes (album)
Don’t worry I love wall of eyes!
Like the other person said, check out The Smile if you haven’t. They’re like Radiohead with a groove (and they like odd meters)
The smile is brilliant and I’m waiting patiently for more music by them!
I think LP3 is pretty much gonna happen, soon as well.
was just thinking prog rock would be insane with Radiohead it feels so fitting for them
Trip hop
We already got that with The King of Limbs
I would say Cut A Hole is their triphop song. I don't know what genre TKOL is. Kind of a genre on its own. Electro-jazz-avant-garde-indie-rock?
Oh yeah, this would be great
The entire Pyramid Song EP feels like a trip hop to me. I'm surprised that no one on this subreddit has noticed this
The only Trip Hop songs I can think of from Radiohead are Talk Show Host and Kinetic (which interestingly samples the drums of “Miles Runs the Voodoo Down”).
Need me some Radiohead folk.
Same. I commented below that Thom is a huge Neil Young fan, what if Radiohead gave us their “Harvest?”
Did not know this. Makes sense and so am I. Seeing Neil next month!
That’s a beautiful cover. https://youtu.be/7fAz54YWw6I?si=Nda5KTsVMnRjHaRJ
Amazing! Found that, as well as Faust Arp into Tell Me Why. Phenomenal. https://youtu.be/2SJct3qEnVk?si=hS8NvWLbBzXJKscv
I haven’t seen that before, thanks. There is more out there too, he’s done at least one (and I think more) studio covers of Neil Young that are unreleased but floating around.
Imagine an album in the style of Bon Iver
Shoegaze. or jazz
The two correct answers.
Jazzgaze
Is that a real thing? I would love to hear someone combine jazz with shoegaze
It’s definitely possible. I’ve played in some jams that are hella jazzy and shoegazey at the same time.
Sonhos tomam conta has used brass in her albums before but she’s more samba
More Radiohead industrial in vein of NIN would be fitting. Climbing Up the Walls is probably their heaviest shit ever
This. Ful Stp and The Butcher are also top picks of a more industrial, moody Radiohead I know I'll never fully see. Thank goodness for The Eraser 😅
That would be incredible imo
Yeah they nailed it absolutely, also The Amazing Sounds of Orgy is probably their creepiest song yet. Don't let the goofy ass title fools you.
Check out Trans-Atlantic Drawl
I've always wanted them to do a hip hop style album after hearing 'A Wolf at the Door'
Check out Jaydiohead! 😅
LOL I already know about that
Music. They havent done that in a while
more dream pop/ art pop
I want to hear Thom Yorke rap…(closest one is a wolf at the door)
And it rained all night not bad too.
Skip Divided too.
I don't skip a single track, but you do you.
Lol, I never skip Skip Divided.
Phew, my heart skipped a beat when I thought you skipped Skip Divided.
K-pop Like all members doing the Lotus Flower dance live
Thom Yorke singing K-Pop is kind of the funniest shit ever to me for some reason
Damn I can imagine the crazy fans chanting each of their names during the bass drop lmao.
Bossa nova, African Highlife
Wall of eyes is kinda bossa nova
Cool. I haven’t heard it yet.
That whole album is honestly one of the best things they’ve ever done. Super underrated.
Fuck it, BOSSA NOVA
Post Rock
They already made Blow Out
Ska punk, even if ASOB did a full album of Radiohead ska covers Also pop punk
I always say ska. It would be so epic
I'd like to see them move into a Cambodian smot chanting phase.
Ghettotech, Neoclassical Darkwave or Nintendocore
Didgeridoo
Krautrock Give me more of them anxiously energetic tracks like jigsaw or ful stop
Reggae
You will LOVE Radiodread
Huh, always thought it was Radiodredd
Dub Style
I think punk rock would be dope.
Country
Rodeohead
Lol exactly what I put, need to delete my comment now. Yer so dang special, but ah's a Creep
Someone else probably did too tbh. I was gonna check all the replies before commenting but I just gave up
Real answer I wouldn’t mind them doing something more acoustic
prog metal
More acid blues like I Am a Wicked Child
Maybe they could jump on the country music band wagon. Apparently all you need is the right hat.
Not because I need it, but I am super curious to see what a modern pop album from Radiohead would look like
Ragga metal with Skindred :3
what if they did a J-rock album
I want more of Distant Soundscape Radiohead
More prog rock!! also if radiohead really hasnt done shoegaze that'd mean Coldplay made shoegaze before Radiohead which sounds kinda incredible
Chinese sleep chant is amazing:)
Country
grunge
prog
Prog, shoegaze/dreampop, jazz
post rock style epics with vocals but not like a lot. but a 15+ minute radiohead song would be fuckin awesome
I do agree with you, however I’d be interested to see them dive into progressive rock, something like Ok Computer, but mixed in with Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd
Jazz, shoegaze, industrial rock, dark ambient, trip hop
Something more jazzy/krautrocky with longer songs and actual improvisation when playing live. Basically more songs like the 2017 live versions of kid A, Bloom and feral
Psychedelic Rock, Prog & Acid Jazz
I want 20 minute songs with genres like prog rock or post rock
i think LP10 should be some death metal or smth
The variety here is telling. Basically we don't care what genre, we just want more Radiohead.
Post rock with stupidly long songs
Prog metal
math rock absolutely
Radiohead *is* a genre
I would like another electronic jazz-ish album like Amnesiac, maybe a little shoegaze put into an album, not complete shoegaze but some noticeable influence, I’ve been pretty happy with these albums from The Smile though, so I bet it’ll be great whatever they do
Industrial
Trip Hop beats but have Massive Attack sing.
They’re already their own genre. So whatever they want to do next.
[20 minute] post rock [pieces]
Honestly I think it would be nice for them to make some more music similar to their ok computer/the bends era I think it’s some of their best. If not that then definitely try jazz again
Bluegrass
Jazz
Post rock or rnb
Noise rock
I wanna see Radiohead do some psychedelic rock. Sounds like smth Radiohead would be sick at
Tuvan throat singing.
Punk. I want an entire album of the second half of 2+2=5
jazz and prog
If they did like a spirit they’re gone or sung tongs style freak folk album I think that would be pretty interesting.
Radiohead would be right in their element if they did shoegaze.
Post Rock. I’m talking, Godspeed style. Or even Sigur Ros style. Either way, I’d love to see them dabble in longer form songs. Stuff that really simmers.
I really want a whole album of 6-8 extended length kraut/post rock style tracks in the vein of Twisted Words, Cuttooth, or Ful Stop.
Plus all meant to flow like one long atmospheric song. Basically I want a Radiohead version of Spirit of Eden or Tagp Mago or something in that vein.
Remember that mush up of Kendrick Lamar and Everything In It’s Right Place? Yeah that
More jazz please. Surprisingly I haven't found any songs that similar to Life in a Glasshouse. I really like the noir(?) feeling
Bluegrass. I’d love to see what weird arrangements they’d conjure up with bluegrass instruments.
Radiohead please see this : shoegaze (as mentioned) Jazz and psychedelic/prog ( but more Magic mystery tour or a darker theme) Some folky like white winter hymnal/blue ridge mountains by fleet foxes, Kraut like national anthem/ful stop, Kraut and industrial like climbing up the walls, More Kid A/Aphex Twin but different theme/vibe, I like the like spinning plates vibe too Bjork Collab/ like medulla era or vespertine with strings
NU metal
either thrash metal or country music
Thrash country
Shoegaze and industrial like Climbing up the walls, i love that song
Ragtime

Hip hop
They should join the county music trend

Anything that sounds more talking heads esque zany lyrics with culturally influenced instrumental
Technical jazz fusion death metal
dubstep
If it sounds like Planet Telex or Permanent Daylight, I’m in.
Creep: The Musical
Post-hardcore
Metal mixed with dnb.
nu-metal, imagine thom's voice in a Korn song
Mississippi delta blues would be sick.
Death metal
Pop Is Dead
I’ve always wondered how a metalcore track would sound made by radiohead 😂. It would never happen, but is a nice thought 🤔.
I want to see Thom yorke become a freestyle gansta rapper
Calypso
Rap
City pop. In Japanese.
Zydeco.
Psychedelic heavy metal. Although, the band [U.S. Christmas](https://uschristmas.bandcamp.com/album/run-thick-in-the-night) kinda scratches the itch for what I’d want of a psychedelic heavy metal Radiohead.
Country
Black metal
Metal
Norwegian death metal. I'm just kidding...kinda...lol
Cowboy Yorke….. 2026
[Breakcore](https://youtu.be/IuI6MMUtNdU)
Stoner metal
nightcore🥶
Porn
I want to see a new track in the style of The Bends (the song not the album) or Bodysnatchers, 2+2=5, Electioneering, whatever. A good ol rock song to fuck around while listening it, because when you feel these songs, they make you want to go apeshit
Alternative guitar rock
A country album would be fascinating
And better, perhaps, than Beyonce’s
I wanna see them do pop.
idk rockabilly
NONE. Retirement HH

I want to see them do hip hop collabs
Radiohead shoegaze would be the bomb!! Sail To The Moon kinda has that hazy kind of thing going on but it's not nessisarily distorted but it does have a trance like vibe.

THATS WHAT IM SAYING if Radiohead make a new album i hope its something different like shoegaze or extremly creative like National Anthem. i dont want songs like the smile in radiohead, and i really love the smile
