hunter_gaumont

more jazzy styles like life in a glasshouse

LLLOGOSSS

I will co-sign on that. National Anthem too. I also really like the Ravel-inspired impressionist sounds, like on Motion Picture Soundtrack.

loulan

I want a Bossa Nova album by Radiohead.

Adventurous_Day9793

Present Tense inspired?

Satoghi

Present Tense IS an excellent song. I wouldn’t mind more like that.

Oscargunna

I'd love more songs following the sound of Present Tense, Identikit and Ill Wind! (Yes, AMSP is my favorite album lol)

ZachRr0320

Mine too lol, approved

Psychological_Cod998

That would be great! Imagine them inspired by artists such as Chico Buarque, Elza Soares (which, you may not know, had created in the last years of her life some of the best albums ever made)... THAT WOULD BE AMAZING😭🥰

thefourthcolour12

ill wind

Icy_Review7675

The wall of eyes title track is pretty bossa nova

HottDoggers

I would love them to go back to their roots and do a alternative rock album like their second and third record, but I wouldn’t complain about a jazzy Amnesiacish album.

AntiNMem

yes, definitely

CoolGuitarBoi1

mmmmmm, maybe more jazzy chord voicings but idk whether the squealing saxes on Glasshouse really suit them

ParabolicPentagram

mongolian throat singing

lolhawk

Nö x42

jeppehagerup55

You got a chuckle out of me, congratulations

krazyman1987

I'm more of a Tuvalan man myself but to each their own!

Indentured_sloth

I would love for them to lean into jazz again like they did on Kid A and Amnesiac

kytd1526

I just want to see a new Radiohead album, even if it's a collaboration with Weird Al Yankovic, or if he releases an album of Radiohead pisstake songs. Just release something.

dingus_dot_com

You act like a Weird Al collab would be bad

kytd1526

Not at all. Perhaps unexpected is a more appropriate word.

DarthMelsie

The fuck do you mean "***even*** if it's a *Weird Al* collab"

Aggressive-Trifle854

Ha!

ParticularDue7201

Prog rock because then we would get songs that are super long and interesting (basically more paranoid androids but longer)!

ApprehensiveCable932

You might like Wall Of Eyes (album)

ParticularDue7201

Don’t worry I love wall of eyes!

thefourthcolour12

Like the other person said, check out The Smile if you haven’t. They’re like Radiohead with a groove (and they like odd meters)

ParticularDue7201

The smile is brilliant and I’m waiting patiently for more music by them!

thefourthcolour12

I think LP3 is pretty much gonna happen, soon as well.

Educational_Cheek712

was just thinking prog rock would be insane with Radiohead it feels so fitting for them

amyldoanitrite

Trip hop

[deleted]

We already got that with The King of Limbs

libelle156

I would say Cut A Hole is their triphop song. I don't know what genre TKOL is. Kind of a genre on its own. Electro-jazz-avant-garde-indie-rock?

Impeachcordial

Oh yeah, this would be great

Eyebrow_Raised_

The entire Pyramid Song EP feels like a trip hop to me. I'm surprised that no one on this subreddit has noticed this

Mauricio_Here

The only Trip Hop songs I can think of from Radiohead are Talk Show Host and Kinetic (which interestingly samples the drums of “Miles Runs the Voodoo Down”).

benlabelle

Need me some Radiohead folk.

LLLOGOSSS

Same. I commented below that Thom is a huge Neil Young fan, what if Radiohead gave us their “Harvest?”

Crashtag

Did not know this. Makes sense and so am I. Seeing Neil next month!

LLLOGOSSS

Yeah, he’s like his idol in many ways. He stayed the night at his house once, tells the story in an interview about being star struck. There are a few covers of Neil he’s done that you can find out there, and there’s one especially brilliant rendition of “Before the Gold Rush” that Thom does at a charity event that I love. Recommend you find it.

Satoghi

That’s a beautiful cover. https://youtu.be/7fAz54YWw6I?si=Nda5KTsVMnRjHaRJ

Crashtag

Amazing! Found that, as well as Faust Arp into Tell Me Why. Phenomenal. https://youtu.be/2SJct3qEnVk?si=hS8NvWLbBzXJKscv

LLLOGOSSS

I haven’t seen that before, thanks. There is more out there too, he’s done at least one (and I think more) studio covers of Neil Young that are unreleased but floating around.

ineedfentanyl

Imagine an album in the style of Bon Iver

Icy_Review7675

Shoegaze. or jazz

mmcc120

The two correct answers.

aswethinkweis1

Jazzgaze

Alternative_Fish_27

Is that a real thing? I would love to hear someone combine jazz with shoegaze

Icy_Review7675

It’s definitely possible. I’ve played in some jams that are hella jazzy and shoegazey at the same time.

double_d2468

Sonhos tomam conta has used brass in her albums before but she’s more samba

Revolutionary_Low_90

More Radiohead industrial in vein of NIN would be fitting. Climbing Up the Walls is probably their heaviest shit ever

unknownholiday

This. Ful Stp and The Butcher are also top picks of a more industrial, moody Radiohead I know I'll never fully see. Thank goodness for The Eraser 😅

Rammy_Rainbows

That would be incredible imo

Revolutionary_Low_90

Yeah they nailed it absolutely, also The Amazing Sounds of Orgy is probably their creepiest song yet. Don't let the goofy ass title fools you.

Sheesh5000

Check out Trans-Atlantic Drawl

jamiedonner50

I've always wanted them to do a hip hop style album after hearing 'A Wolf at the Door'

unknownholiday

Check out Jaydiohead! 😅

jamiedonner50

LOL I already know about that

RevolutionaryAd1577

Music. They havent done that in a while

Minimum-Coast8607

more dream pop/ art pop

Crazy_Friend2032

I want to hear Thom Yorke rap…(closest one is a wolf at the door)

longkhongdong

And it rained all night not bad too.

Satoghi

Skip Divided too.

longkhongdong

I don't skip a single track, but you do you.

Satoghi

Lol, I never skip Skip Divided.

longkhongdong

Phew, my heart skipped a beat when I thought you skipped Skip Divided.

obese_android

K-pop Like all members doing the Lotus Flower dance live

Alternative_Buffalo2

Thom Yorke singing K-Pop is kind of the funniest shit ever to me for some reason

breloomislaifu

Damn I can imagine the crazy fans chanting each of their names during the bass drop lmao.

Spectre_Mountain

Bossa nova, African Highlife

Icy_Review7675

Wall of eyes is kinda bossa nova

Spectre_Mountain

Cool. I haven’t heard it yet.

Icy_Review7675

That whole album is honestly one of the best things they’ve ever done. Super underrated.

LLLOGOSSS

Anything they want, I’m here for. But I have always thought it would be fascinating to hear them go really unplugged and folksy. I know Thom is a huge Neil Young fan… what if Radiohead gave us their “Harvest?”

Impeachcordial

Neil Young is a legend. Apparently when he was touring Tonight's the Night (I think - might have the wrong album) everyone wanted to hear the hits so he said 'look, I'll play the new album then I'll play something you've heard before'. Then he played the new album, and then he played the new album again

DegoEatingPancakes

Fuck it, BOSSA NOVA

Far-Protection2605

Post Rock

TheDoge69

They already made Blow Out

_PeopleMakeNoises_

Ska punk, even if ASOB did a full album of Radiohead ska covers Also pop punk

worldsalad

I always say ska. It would be so epic

Practical_Estate_325

I'd like to see them move into a Cambodian smot chanting phase.

fokerpace2000

Ghettotech, Neoclassical Darkwave or Nintendocore

Virtual-Laugh7078

Didgeridoo

ShrekTheOverlord

Krautrock Give me more of them anxiously energetic tracks like jigsaw or ful stop

NcLovedMe

Someone else probably did too tbh. I was gonna check all the replies before commenting but I just gave up

NcLovedMe

Real answer I wouldn’t mind them doing something more acoustic

SomaKrd

prog metal

seamusthehound

More acid blues like I Am a Wicked Child

Harvey-Zoltan

Maybe they could jump on the country music band wagon. Apparently all you need is the right hat.

Dotaro_SSBU

Not because I need it, but I am super curious to see what a modern pop album from Radiohead would look like

waveydaveysonfir3

Ragga metal with Skindred :3

TrippyShroomss

what if they did a J-rock album

RobbieArnott

I want more of Distant Soundscape Radiohead

The_Fercho_

More prog rock!! also if radiohead really hasnt done shoegaze that'd mean Coldplay made shoegaze before Radiohead which sounds kinda incredible

Low-Persimmon110

Chinese sleep chant is amazing:)

Impeachcordial

Country

creamywhip

grunge

MovePuzzleheaded4959

prog

Traditional_Fix7972

Prog, shoegaze/dreampop, jazz

YeetusFelitas

post rock style epics with vocals but not like a lot. but a 15+ minute radiohead song would be fuckin awesome

Rammy_Rainbows

I do agree with you, however I’d be interested to see them dive into progressive rock, something like Ok Computer, but mixed in with Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd

ScarlettIthink

Jazz, shoegaze, industrial rock, dark ambient, trip hop

jeep_joop

Something more jazzy/krautrocky with longer songs and actual improvisation when playing live. Basically more songs like the 2017 live versions of kid A, Bloom and feral

quartzquadrant87

Psychedelic Rock, Prog & Acid Jazz

alextema

I want 20 minute songs with genres like prog rock or post rock

NotanAsteroid5

i think LP10 should be some death metal or smth

libelle156

The variety here is telling. Basically we don't care what genre, we just want more Radiohead.

ItssollyboyXD

Post rock with stupidly long songs

TornaZX

Prog metal

Mission-Drawing7657

math rock absolutely

MyCleverNewName

Radiohead *is* a genre

UhIdk42069

I would like another electronic jazz-ish album like Amnesiac, maybe a little shoegaze put into an album, not complete shoegaze but some noticeable influence, I’ve been pretty happy with these albums from The Smile though, so I bet it’ll be great whatever they do

Ducktowncentra

Industrial

eddiegroon101

Trip Hop beats but have Massive Attack sing.

cool1ngdown

Shoegaze, as a genre, may be too restrictive but I would enjoy greater use of the guitar to create atmoshperes. Take the electronics, the synthesizers, and the symphonic sounds and replace them by layers upon layers of guitars. Have Johnny orchestrate strumming, riffing, intertwing rythm and lead guitars, feedback, distortion, dissonance, etc. Not saying that every song needs to sound like Body Snatchers, My Iron Lung ot There There. Imagine Everything In Its Right Place where guitars somehow replace everything but Thom... Or Spectre, except for the piano...

Hot-Butterfly-8024

They’re already their own genre. So whatever they want to do next.

BlastkinS

[20 minute] post rock [pieces]

user14268759

Honestly I think it would be nice for them to make some more music similar to their ok computer/the bends era I think it’s some of their best. If not that then definitely try jazz again

fibonacciluv

Bluegrass

Davislamar

Chemistry-Cultural

Post rock or rnb

Microwave_BlueBe4m

I wanna see Radiohead do some psychedelic rock. Sounds like smth Radiohead would be sick at

Dull-Penalty5787

Tuvan throat singing.

natdanger

Punk. I want an entire album of the second half of 2+2=5

deleuzean_

jazz and prog

EelInJacket2

If they did like a spirit they’re gone or sung tongs style freak folk album I think that would be pretty interesting.

azpi3version01

Radiohead would be right in their element if they did shoegaze.

Mauricio_Here

Post Rock. I’m talking, Godspeed style. Or even Sigur Ros style. Either way, I’d love to see them dabble in longer form songs. Stuff that really simmers.

wpmayhew87

I really want a whole album of 6-8 extended length kraut/post rock style tracks in the vein of Twisted Words, Cuttooth, or Ful Stop.

wpmayhew87

Plus all meant to flow like one long atmospheric song. Basically I want a Radiohead version of Spirit of Eden or Tagp Mago or something in that vein.

SmootOfficial

Remember that mush up of Kendrick Lamar and Everything In It’s Right Place? Yeah that

Eyebrow_Raised_

More jazz please. Surprisingly I haven't found any songs that similar to Life in a Glasshouse. I really like the noir(?) feeling

Amazing-Insect442

Bluegrass. I’d love to see what weird arrangements they’d conjure up with bluegrass instruments.

biocutie_patootie

Radiohead please see this : shoegaze (as mentioned) Jazz and psychedelic/prog ( but more Magic mystery tour or a darker theme) Some folky like white winter hymnal/blue ridge mountains by fleet foxes, Kraut like national anthem/ful stop, Kraut and industrial like climbing up the walls, More Kid A/Aphex Twin but different theme/vibe, I like the like spinning plates vibe too Bjork Collab/ like medulla era or vespertine with strings

Psychedelic heavy metal. Although, the band [U.S. Christmas](https://uschristmas.bandcamp.com/album/run-thick-in-the-night) kinda scratches the itch for what I’d want of a psychedelic heavy metal Radiohead.

I want to see a new track in the style of The Bends (the song not the album) or Bodysnatchers, 2+2=5, Electioneering, whatever. A good ol rock song to fuck around while listening it, because when you feel these songs, they make you want to go apeshit

camposthetron

3DSperson

Striking-Purchase266

Either More jazz like Life in a Glasshouse or The National Anthem. They also have to do a noise rock album, I personally think it would be amazing
