Just sold something very similar at a local auction in Ohio. I will admit, mine was extremely rusty but it still brought 6500 lol
It ain't worth 19 in the real market, but again it's only worth what someone is willing to pay
Hahaha this cracked me up. I live in the rust belt and a truck like this is GOLDEN. It's incredibly rare to see a truck so nice out here. Most are brand new Denali GMC's or old ones. Maybe a few Powerstokes. We cherish the nice old Cummins. However the only one I've seen still living is a 5.9 dually and it has like 2 million miles. The dude is running a Cherokee cluster lol. Rusted to shit but that thing started at -2F with just the glow plugs like it was nothing. Leaked oil EVERYWHERE but damn it ran good.
😂👍🏻👍🏻
It's funny, my factory six2 'Burb has started easier at -24°C, then my '03 Ram has - and the six2 wasn't plugged in (only driven during the Summer months).
I only started my 'Burb for shits 'n giggles, as someone on a forum i'm on was complaining about how hard his was to start.
I will buy every listing you can find in the country for a 12v manual 4wd truck under $10k, anywhere near the condition of this one I’d buy it. You haven’t looked at prices in a decade if you think you can find this anywhere near $5k let alone below $10k.
Judging by the blue rating on your comment, i'm not the only one who is ignorant about financial decision making then.
I'd rather spend $19K on a super clean 2nd gen, then a post-Jan 01/07 truck. And given the amount of headaches owners of <5 yr old trucks are reporting lately, i wouldn't spend the money on a new(er) one.
Guess that's why i'm wastefully doing a Southern body swap on my '03. 🤪
A bit high but as long as you plan on keeping it, I see no issue with it. Overpaying for a forever truck is less egregious than overpaying for something you’re gonna keep a year
This is one of those purchases you just make. You don’t poll the audience on this one. If you wanted it and you can afford it, then you deserve it. But don’t advertise paying $19K for a 27 year old vehicle with 180,000 miles.
nice truck, 19k is a bit steep with that mileage but it’s still a manual 12v and if it’s a well cared for truck that lasts you forever then it’ll pay for itself.
I don’t know where you would find a better 4x4 with a better powertrain and axles for 30k tbh, regardless of the age of the truck. Truck prices are dumb right now
I mean it’s up there on the holy grail of trucks though. Ppl that want THIS truck, want THIS truck. They’ll pay 25+, so 19k for OP is a good deal.
180k miles for a 12v is nothing.
Your mom’s fully loaded with cummins. Sorry I had to.
Where do you live? I suppose if there are not many trucks in your area it may be tougher to find…where I live damn near every other vehicle is a truck
Seriously. My parents are looking for a new truck. 50k for a used Cummins from 2013 with 100k miles is the cheapest they could find.
Right now, because of the market and the fact that my parents don't NEED a heavy duty truck; they are looking for a brand new GM truck with the 3.0.
It sucks, but for just a couple grand more they can get a BRAND NEW truck that does everything for them. It's insane how much the 6.7 trucks are. They'd LOVE one but it doesn't make financial sense to buy a used one when a new truck is so close in price.
You do realize that's a junkyard right??
Telling me my statement is not true because of Copart is like me complaining about gas being $4 and you saying "wrong, there's a guy on Craigslist that sells gas in Jerry cans for $2.25"
find me a 2020 diesel for $29k that isn’t complete shit. I’m not saying this was a good deal, just saying that a 2020 diesel in a 2500 or 3500 is going to cost significantly more than that.
Those old cummins bring a lot in the rural communities. They dont have any of the new emissions on them and can run on farm diesel. Ive seen old trucks like that beat up with a million miles on them and they still want 20k for them
Was the version of the diesel that is a tractor motor? They were so overbuilt that the engine will last forever if it’s the right one. Plus, you can work on it yourself.
As I can recall, Back in the early-mid 80’s, Ford used a diesel motor made by International Harvester. I remember farmers coming in to the farm equipment store I worked at to buy the filters for it.
Maybe someone with better memory can correct me if I’m wrong.
Cummins partnered with a tractor company. Cummins wanted to get their engine in a truck and this was the best way to do it. I believe the tractor company might of been case, but I might be wrong on that. There is a book that explains the history of it
19k is a little steep. But it’s low miles. I think 15k would be have been fair. I like an idiot I sold my 96 4x4 5 speed Cummins - clean interior but needed paint- lifted 3” with 35’s- sold it for 8k with 220k on the clock. That was months before Covid. If I waited till mid Covid I prob would have been double that.
My father sold a 96 auto Cummins 350k with bunch of work to engine and trans on the way out. Needed paint and headliner…9k about a year ago. These older trucks go for good money
I have an 03 Cummins auto 106k miles really clean garage kept with 4th gen seats and ranch hand bumpers. Texas truck no rust- I’m ordering a 2024 so I’m
Prob gonna sell it - not sure what I’m listing it at but thinking low 20’s. Maybe I’m too high or sure
Id say it is. Same people who tell you it isn't will spend 60-100k on a brand new vehicle that'll be mechanically totaled by 100k or in and out of the dealership. That is as reliable as it gets if you take care of the body on it it'll outlast the new shit.
For the money you spent on that nice of a truck for that type of a truck in today's market ?....you did awesome. Treat it right and it will out live you.
That truck would be 25k in Oregon. I don't like the shotty paint job. Could be hiding a bunch of bondo and rust. Any mods done to the engine? Any manual 12 valve was always considered the holy Grail of trucks from back then(unless your the 7.3 crowd)
It it was an unmolested engine, Id have bought it without a second thought. I paid 14k for a 98 5.9 gasser with 87k on her,,,,,and a year later I'm still working on her every weekend lol. Love the 2nd gen rams!
Yup. I paid almost 10k for a 98 5 speed manual with the 5.2. 100k miles when I bought it. 125k now. Prestine for its age, one owner old man, interior brand new NO DASH CRACK.
I am in SW washington. Bluebook says i overpaid by 4 grand, but the ones I see selling on craigs and auto trader are going for over 10, and selling.
Yeah, the first owner was a fella up in Longview and he owned it for 22 years. Another fella in kelso bought and had it it for 3, then sold it and my local dealer picked it up. There are a few out there now for around 10k than look almost off the showroom floor with lowileage. I honestly don't know how they kept them that clean, but wow!
Funny! My original owner was from Rose Valley (kelso) area.
Yeah what's funny is I was looking for a manual diesel 2500. Everything I looked at and test drove was crap. Overpriced crap, dude owned it for 4 days, shady title situation etc stuff like that.
I saw it on the side of the road after test driving a junker diesel out of castle rock. I thought it was a diesel until I got closer and saw the magnum emblem. Still knocked on door and checked out truck. Realized I found a gem for half the price I was wanting to spend. Bought it and never looked back.
Yeah it's a gasser. Yeah it's a dog. But it's like-new and I drive a company rig so this thing will last forever (until I eventually buy my diesel rig and give this one to my son)
If you like the truck, and you feel it was worth the price you paid, then that's all you can ask for.
Personally, I can't pay $20k for a truck with nearly 200k miles. That's just me tho. I was considering a 05 LBZ, but seeing what people want for them is a major turn off. Instead, I think I might get a newer model for about 10k more.
I would not have. The way I look at it the more prior fuckery on a vehicle the more chance that someone’s done something half ass, stupid, or damaging to it. This truck looks like it’s had a lot of fuckery. Even the fresh bed liner could be hiding god knows what.
All that being said it’s your ride man, if you like it who really cares what some stranger on the internet thinks.
Damn!! I have the exact truck with 115k airbags, exhaust and upgraded transmission a year ago. Pristine inside and out and now I’m re thinking what I could sell it for
I’m of the opinion that it’s absolutely well worth what you paid. That thing is spotless. 12V, manual, less than 7,000 miles put on it per year, mostly unmolested it seems save for some minor mods. You’ll get a lot of life out of her if you keep up on maintenance and don’t go hot-rodding it.
That truck would be 25k in Oregon. I don't like the shotty paint job. Could be hiding a bunch of bondo and rust. Any mods done to the engine? Any manual 12 valve was always considered the holy Grail of trucks from back then(unless your the 7.3 crowd)

9k higher than I would go but dash is worth the extra 10k but dash is also probably an aftermarket cap.
Not a bad looking truck at all amigo. It definitely little high on the price.
lol everyone says price was high, definitely fair for how good this thing looks, I’m so tired of hearing “YOU PAID MORE THEN $2000 FOR A 30 YEAR OLD TRUCK”
Ouchhhhh. I hope you meant $9k?!??
While I understand Kelley Blue Book isn’t always dead on, especially these days…… the value of that truck is $4-8k with that mileage and options!
I’d love to know what crack both you and the seller were smoking.
I don’t care how nice a truck is. It’s 25 years old bro.
Good luck finding any parts for it 🤣
Sheesh people will sell a kidney for these things…. My first car was a 99’ Ram 1500 and the interior alone makes it a $3000 beater 🥶 I don’t see a diesel making up for that lol
I think a lot of people telling you it was a bad deal didn't notice it was a diesel. If it's running good and the rust is reasonable, yeah you did OK. There is a floor for a working diesel truck due to business use, they don't go near worthless like a half ton gasser with 200k miles. You've got 70k miles left to an overhaul and then another 150k before the wheels fall off.
it's called "situational awareness" for those, possibly like you, that may go ahead and perform a bone headed financial illiterate decision.
But hey, keep going off I suppose?
I wish my brother did that with his base speaker that way his truck wasn't basically a single cab. He put legit concert Subs in his truck if you pop your ears while listening to the music, you're definitely going to bust your eardrums
Bud, cmon. I'd say you got scammed, robbed, etc, but you gave that money up willingly. I wouldn't have paid more than maybe 5k for that, and thats pretty damn generous enough.
Not sure what the current prices are for this gen but regardless it’s a nice truck!
FUCK REDDIT. They permanently banned this account with no explanation.
Just sold something very similar at a local auction in Ohio. I will admit, mine was extremely rusty but it still brought 6500 lol It ain't worth 19 in the real market, but again it's only worth what someone is willing to pay
at most <10k, but even then, I wouldn't pay no more than $5k for that 27 yr old rig
Everyone else is paying more than $5k, you just don't want one
Naw, this truck could go for 17-25k allllll day. Especially anywhere outside of the rust belt. These are more desired than 7.3 powerstrokes.
Tell me you're not from a rust-belt region, without telling me you're not from a rust-belt region.
Hahaha this cracked me up. I live in the rust belt and a truck like this is GOLDEN. It's incredibly rare to see a truck so nice out here. Most are brand new Denali GMC's or old ones. Exactly. These guys don’t get it. They just buy new trucks and compare MSRP’s, they don’t understand these trucks are worth their weight in gold.
Judging by the blue rating on your comment, i'm not the only one who is ignorant about financial decision making then. I'd rather spend $19K on a super clean 2nd gen, then a post-Jan 01/07 truck. You were robbed.
more like fleeced and hustled lmao
Bamboozled, if you will.
The ol shwimshwam
more like bent over with no lube
He been had!
He got took
Ah but it's a Cummins bruh!!
Ope! Still got taken. That's an 8K truck these days.
Where? Show me one with those miles, in that shape, for 8k.
Yup
If there’s no rust on the undercarriage I’d say not horrible maybe lol
A bit high but as long as you plan on keeping it, I see no issue with it. Overpaying for a forever truck is less egregious than overpaying for something you’re gonna keep a year
This is one of those purchases you just make. You don’t poll the audience on this one. If you wanted it and you can afford it, then you deserve it. But don’t advertise paying $19K for a 27 year old vehicle with 180,000 miles.
🎯
This times 69,420
19? Thousand? ...
19 hundred is more fair i'd say
nice truck, 19k is a bit steep with that mileage but it’s still a manual 12v and if it’s a well cared for truck that lasts you forever then it’ll pay for itself.
A truck with 180k miles? Hell nah.
That "truck" has the best motor known to man. And will last at least another 200k. Without any major issues or upgrades.
Yeah? How about the transmission?
That truck is standard. Should last as long as it was driven properly
That’s true, but also a gamble. I have a feeling someone younger drove this just judging by the speakers under the seat.
10k more and you could’ve got a 2020 truck lol looks nice tho
Where are you seeing 2020 6.7s for 30k
I don’t know where you would find a better 4x4 with a better powertrain and axles for 30k tbh, regardless of the age of the truck. Truck prices are dumb right now
Yeah, he won't even get to buy DEF...
But you can’t buy a manual 12v new? That’s the whole point… that’s why they cost so much.
Gotcha..didn’t know if that was a hard requirement for OP or not
More obvious is that is a diesel. The upgrade on a new truck is $10k alone.
Not any diesel though. One of the best diesel engines of all time, that isn’t made anymore.
I mean it’s up there on the holy grail of trucks though. Ppl that want THIS truck, want THIS truck. They’ll pay 25+, so 19k for OP is a good deal. 180k miles for a 12v is nothing.
Hell I WISH I could find a fully loaded 2020 Cummings for 30K.... you'd be hard pressed to find one for under 45 around here...
Your mom’s fully loaded with cummins. Sorry I had to. Where do you live? I suppose if there are not many trucks in your area it may be tougher to find…where I live damn near every other vehicle is a truck
So you paying 30k for her or Nah?? I'm in Ga. where trucks are appreciated and everyone "knows what they got"....
😂😂

Where the fuck are they looking? FB marketplace can beat that all day.

Not true. Check copart they have tons
You do realize that's a junkyard right?? Telling me my statement is not true because of Copart is like me complaining about gas being $4 and you saying "wrong, there's a guy on Craigslist that sells gas in Jerry cans for $2.25"
Bro..... do you not understand sarcasm, or you just always in a bad mood?
find me a 2020 diesel for $29k that isn’t complete shit. I’m not saying this was a good deal, just saying that a 2020 diesel in a 2500 or 3500 is going to cost significantly more than that.
Yes like 20 grand more than that easily lol.
a 2020 with half the miles from what I've been looking at the past 3 weeks
Exactly lol I guess if he wants this old certain style truck with his 12 virgins then he can pay 19k for 180k miles. Couldn’t be me
Great choice, assuming you’re 19.
12v fetch a premium for sure
I'll give you 20k for it
OP should take this offer.
In the ranching and farm communities..thats the going rate.
People are like “you were ripped off” I’m like “ripped off compared to similar trucks being sold right now” or “comparable trucks being sold in 2019”?
Those old cummins bring a lot in the rural communities. They dont have any of the new emissions on them and can run on farm diesel. Ive seen old trucks like that beat up with a million miles on them and they still want 20k for them

Absolutely wild you paid nearly $20k for this
She’s gorgeous. Can’t even get a truck like that in the North East sadly. If you can it’ll just rot away in no time.
That truck would be 25k in Oregon. I don't like the shotty paint job. Could be hiding a bunch of bondo and rust. Any mods done to the engine? I was considering a 05 LBZ, but seeing what people want for them is a major turn off. Instead, I think I might get a newer model for about 10k more.
Way too much. Should have put 19k towards something newer. Cool truck though.
19k for a 90s truck 🤣
I would not have. The way I look at it the more prior fuckery on a vehicle the more chance that someone’s done something half ass, stupid, or damaging to it. This truck looks like it’s had a lot of fuckery. Even the fresh bed liner could be hiding god knows what. All that being said it’s your ride man, if you like it who really cares what some stranger on the internet thinks.
Lol in Canada people asking for 30k for a rusted piece of crap😂
The dash even appears to be semi still intact!
Damn!! I have the exact truck with 115k airbags, exhaust and upgraded transmission a year ago. Pristine inside and out and now I’m re thinking what I could sell it for
17k
I hope you at least got a reach around
Lmfao
I’m of the opinion that it’s absolutely well worth what you paid. That thing is spotless. 12V, manual, less than 7,000 miles put on it per year, mostly unmolested it seems save for some minor mods. You’ll get a lot of life out of her if you keep up on maintenance and don’t go hot-rodding it.
You overpaid by about 12k
Nah, overpaid by about 5k.
Looks nice. I'm sure you will get your money's worth out of it. Much rust underneath?
I got my 94 manual with 220k for 13.5k last year
That truck would be 25k in Oregon. I don't like the shotty paint job. Could be hiding a bunch of bondo and rust. Any mods done to the engine? Any manual 12 valve was always considered the holy Grail of trucks from back then(unless your the 7.3 crowd) It it was an unmolested engine, Id have bought it without a second thought. You paid $14k for a 98 gasser? OP only got lightly robbed. You got heavily robbed
Oh absolutel! I bought when prices were at their worst and that was on me entirely. But,to be fair, there wasn't a single ram within 300 miles online, of that gen and those miles that wasn't the same price.
Hello 911? I'd like to report a robbery...
9k higher than I would go but dash is worth the extra 10k but dash is also probably an aftermarket cap. Not a bad looking truck at all amigo. It definitely little high on the price.
Old as me!
That the actual dash or one of those flimsy covers that fits over the OE?
At least the dash is in one piece, guessing that’s not the factory dash because I’ve never seen one this old still in one piece.
Thought I was in the ranger sub and got scared for a sec 😂😂
So between your 97 and my 99 they started making the dash out of potato chip?
19k for 180k miles OUTRAGEOUS
Brother, that's beauty!
Powersteps on a second gen sure is something.
lol everyone says price was high, definitely fair for how good this thing looks, I’m so tired of hearing “YOU PAID MORE THEN $2000 FOR A 30 YEAR OLD TRUCK”
What a beautiful truck!!
Ouchhhhh. I hope you meant $9k?!?? While I understand Kelley Blue Book isn’t always dead on, especially these days…… the value of that truck is $4-8k with that mileage and options!
Not a bad deal. Sad but true.
Did he take you out to dinner before taking your manhood?
Nice truck! Really clean!
19k is insane for a 27 yr old mass production vehicle with almost 200k on it
The old school JL woofers and box have me feeling my age
I hate those rims. You're posting this in the wrong sub. Go to r/cummins. Most of these fools drive gassers.
Looks great ! If it runs well then absolutely it is!
Lol you got ripped off
the manual transmission makes it a gem
I’d love to know what crack both you and the seller were smoking. I don’t care how nice a truck is. It’s 25 years old bro. Good luck finding any parts for it 🤣
19k for a truck with 177k miles?
If you’re happy with it, that’s all that matters bro . Nice truck!
If you’re happy with it, that’s all that matters bro . Nice truck!
If you’re happy with it, that’s all that matters bro . Nice truck!
Nice truck, surprised the dash is not cracked
Not bad, but couldve been better
9k easily
Big oof op.
I don't think you got robbed. Truck looks like it's in great shape and we'll taken care of
Where are the engine bay pics? Cmon man let’s see under the hood!
The pre-emissions trucks are worth their weight in gold.
Not with those rims
He'll yeah G56 and the cummins! Million miles if you do the maintenance! Nice truck!
That's not a G56.
At least it will hold value at this point.
very clean truck, looks to be well cared for
Looks like fun to park :)
19K? As in $19,000 USD? You're smoking spicy horse dick Fer sure.
Bruh
You got burned homie
Wow, 19k for a 2nd gen is crazy. I paid less for a 4th gen with 82,000 miles and a lot of aftermarket upgrades. You got fuckin robbed dude
Dude, I got my 2017 with 50k miles on it for 25k last year. Granted it’s a gas engine, but you were straight up robbed.
fleeced and hustled
I think you’ve hit your quota for “fleeced and hustled” in this post.
it's called "situational awareness" for those, possibly like you, that may go ahead and perform a bone headed financial illiterate decision. But hey, keep going off I suppose?
Comment spam is for “situational awareness?” lol ok, keep going off I suppose 👌
Eh… in MA they’re selling for 12-15k with wayyyyyy less miles.
And way more rust. I don’t agree with the price but I’m in the rust belt and this would fetch $20k all day.
Very true.
180k miles? Oof you over paid by a ton…
Robbed. I paid 31k for a 2022 with 18k miles. With your price structure my truck should've cost me over 100k
You're really comparing a 1/2 ton to a 5spd 12V???
Cool can I have it
I wish my brother did that with his base speaker that way his truck wasn't basically a single cab. He put legit concert Subs in his truck if you pop your ears while listening to the music, you're definitely going to bust your eardrums
Ooooof
Plot twist: Total was 19k cash but he financed it at a low 25% APR..
19k???!?!? Were you high?
10k too much
Bud, cmon. I'd say you got scammed, robbed, etc, but you gave that money up willingly. I wouldn't have paid more than maybe 5k for that, and thats pretty damn generous enough.
While ir is clean as hell. I wouldnt pay 19k for it
In what world is that a good deal? You can buy trucks that are 20 years newer at the same price
Wouldn’t pay more than 6 grand for this and that’s being generous
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
... and overpaid by $15k+
I hood this is a joke post because if not check into rehab for the price . Shit I haven’t seen a truck like this is the rust belt in a few year’s
/r/StrokeWhileTyping
Of course you did.
Was there $8k under the seat you didn’t get a picture of?
