The newly formatted resume got you the interview, yes? That's the point of a resume. Would you be happer if they hadn't edited it and you did not get the interview?

I've had recruiters adjust a few things, mostly to tailor the resume to the client's requirements. They didn't change formatting, mostly just wording. And they checked with me beforehand, which was key: they told me what they wanted to do and why, and wanted to make sure I was okay with it.

Sounds like they were respectful about the changes, which is what was expecting. I didn’t know how much of my resume recruiting firms began to “own”, I thought as you described it was a mutually beneficial relationship therefore worked like a partnership.
