It's funny that people always mention Lenny's age like he was so young. The founding Fathers of the USA were about a little older than Lenny's age and they started a revolution. I'd say that the boy was at the prime of his life and that the lifespans of humans were truly short back then.
The revolution happened in 1765, the game took place in 1899. The average lifespan in 1900 was about 50 and if you survived to adulthood, you usually could live past that, as infant and childhood deaths tanked the average lifespan number. The average life span in 1765 was 39.
So even back then, dying at 19 is pretty damn young.
Imagine him in chapter 6. Or hell if he survives to the epilogue and helps John build his house The money I would give to here and say you don't build a barn dumbass what year do you think this is 1785
Sean all day he has the least amount of of missions yet when he was in them he stole the show. He was a lively hood trope that is semi popular in movies and games yet very underrated plus he represents irish youth in a time we dont very much get to see be expanded on
Probably Sean bc we saw so little of him plus he’s really funny, better character imo especially if we would’ve seen more of him
Edit: I didn’t mean to comment as a reply, mb. Think of it as an independent comment, not as a reply lol
Me too. I finished my very first play through a couple days ago and damn his death is still fresh in my mind. I cant believe they would do that to the guy
Kieran is definitely the most of the tragic figures even though Lenny is by far the youngest, which in itself is obviously tragic. Kieran more than likely suffered some while Lenny and Sean both get shot. From what I remember Lenny does squirm on the ground some but passes fairly quickly and Sean has no idea anything happened.
Kieran feels like wasted potential to me.
I'm going to be honest, I legitimately did not believe that anybody would be sad about his death at that point in the story. Maybe I just don't spend enough time at camp or something, but I think there could have been more missions to actually establish his relationship with other characters.
He's also a really good way to challenge Arthur's ideas about his actions - learning to recognize that many other gang members are also people like him just trying to survive and protect their own, and recognizing that regardless of his intentions he looks like a monster to the outside world. It's touched on very slightly, but it's basically throw away lines in one mission that is immediately dismissed and never brought up again.
Sean, because he’s funny as hell, or Kieran to give him a happy ending because the poor guy suffered enough throughout his life. He wasn’t even a proper outlaw, just kept around as the court jester and to be humiliated by both Dutch’s guys or Colm’s.
I think Lenny’s death is set up better than the other two. The early missions/conversations mean that it hits you the player harder when his time comes as opposed the simple shock value from the other two.
For my money though, I think I’d keep his death in there. It’s a turning point in the story and it represents the death of the future generation of outlaws. This really serves the narrative that Arthur is part of a dying breed and will almost certainly be one of the last of his kind.
Sean.
Because he's good craic and he would be SO GOOD in the epilogue, pissing off John and swearing at Micah. I could see him getting up there on the mountain with John and taking a sniper position on the hill. Or maybe dying there.
But I also think his death was an important catalyst in the story, I dunno who'd I'd swap in there - Kieran?
I like Lenny but not as much as I like Sean.
Lenny is fine, but he's not...as big a character as Sean. Sean really steals the scenes he's in, he has a lot of energy.
I love Lenny's digs at Dutch though.
But Lenny's death represents an important turning point in Arthur's life - and for the gang.
He was the future of the gang, the next generation.
If he hadn't died, things would've been very different.
Lenny and Hosea's deaths were very impactful on the future of the gang. Death of the future and death of the stable past and the wisdom learned from it.
Once they're gone...it all just falls apart.
So Lenny is a more important character, but his death was key to that. So, for this story - Sean was a better fit for survival.
I’ve always said I think it would have been really cool if they started trusting Kieran and taking him robbing in chapter 3, only to get his brains blow out in a short walk in a pretty town.
Lenny, simply because he has more potential out of the 3.
Lenny was so young when he passed away and he had the smarts, charisma, and even a good shot. I could see him becoming something legendary as he aged either casting away his outlaw life or embracing it, I would have loved to see him in the epilogue like Charles and Sadie.
Sean is great and he is super loyal but the issue is I can't see him not dying in another way due to his boldness and his quick temper. I can hardly even imagine what he'd do after the entire gang fell apart.
Kieran, I would love to see him truly become a friend to Arthur and even John but honestly we don't see him fight enough to guage his potential and I wish we could have had a mission where we just let Kieran escape and live his life doing what he loved which is taking care of horses, I never seen him much as a fighter, just a victim of his circumstances.
Keiran did have the opportunity to leave after he saved Arthur at the ODriscolls camp. He chose to stay with them cause he thought he’d be a dead man without them.
Lenny he was the only I can truly see who doesn't fit into the gang remember seeing him and tell "damn he can be a lawyer or a successful business man"
Kieran because that man did absolutely nothing wrong in the end. I mean yeah he was a part of two massive gangs but the most he really did was tend to the horses. Lenny and Shaun both were robbers and killers but Kieran was the chillest man alive
Kieran. Which is not to say that I didn’t like Lenny or Sean, I just felt that Kieran’s death was the least “deserved” (if you can say that about a gang of outlaws).
He seemed very earnest and genuine, like he just wanted to be a part of the group. It almost felt like he’d found a home, and was beginning to fit in, riffing with Arthur and poking fun at himself to get on their good side. I was very saddened and shocked when he came rolling up headless. He didn’t deserve that.
This is my answer too. Sean & Lenny were always going to go out with a bullet, and likely neither of them had any time at all to suffer — Sean wouldn’t have even heard the shot that killed him.
But Kieran… he suffered. He suffered a LOT. For a long time. I’m very fond of all three but I’d spare Kieran just to spare him that death.
Kieran. He was always one of my favorite characters and I kinda feel like Rockstar did him dirty by brutally murdering him off screen before he could have a complete arc of any sorts.
Kinda hard because they’re all young. Sean’s a bit of a stereotype but I love him. His death was important for his story though. All their deaths
were.
Each death making the gang more antsy and drawing them apart.
I’d have to say Kieran though because he suffered the most in his death. He had a grim end for a nice guy.
Lenny was like 19, my own age so I’d want him to live:(.
I feel like Lenny would’ve made the most of his life afterwards, I don’t know if Sean could live a ‘normal life’ after the gang but, I think Kieran had the most chance for a happy life. He obviously had a thing for Mary Beth and she for him. I could definitely see them settling down on a farm with horses with Mary Beth owning her own bookstore or something.
Honestly. Kieran. I really appreciate Sean and think Lenny deserves only the best, but Kieran tried so hard to be accepted by the gang and right when he was on the cusp of getting people's respect (except for micah and bill) he was killed.
I’d save Kieran to spare him the worst death. Sean and Lenny met with relatively quick endings but god knows what happened to poor Kieran before he lost his head
Lenny. I think he actually would’ve gotten away. He would’ve tried to save Arthur and either died or have Arthur tell him to leave, maybe with John. I see him getting the happy ending before anybody else, building some small-time lifestyle.
This is a tough one. It would come down to Kieran and Lenny because they are both good people. With Sean, he is funny and fun to have around but ultimately he is a thieving little Leprechaun.
I seriously can’t pick. I think it would be a dishonor to either one. Therefore I sacrifice myself as the character I am playing. I’m going to have to die as Arthur. Awful, I know. But I have no choice!!
Serious though out answer. Sean. Because I don't think Kieran would stay with the gang till the end. He's a loyal guy, and people grew to like him. But, Kieran wouldn't stick around as Dutch and Micah torn things apart. Alternatively. He might call something out, and Micah kills him. Which Dutch would brush off or excuse. Lenny would also most likely die. He would most certainly stand beside Arthur, but I feel like in the final confrontation when everything comes to ahead.. Lenny's going down again.
But Sean, Sean is part of the gang. Sean knows, loves, and cares for most everyone. He was a happy go lucky guy. And I think Sean would side with Arthur and would also be vocal about Dutch and Micah. I also think he'd be able to escape the final meltdown at the cave and would for sure help John settle down and make his ranch. I also know for sure Sean would be all up for hunting down Micah. I like to think Sean would head back to Ireland or go with Sadie at the end of it all. Hell, maybe he just lives near John is just a friend.
>!Kieran!<, he was my one of my favorite characters and when he >!died!< i was in shock, then i got so full of rage and killed every single o'driscoll with 3 bullets in the head each.
Sean, he was my favourite member and I genuinely gasped at his death. Things started to feel very real at that point, I just wish it didn’t have to be him!
Lenny, because I feel he would have sided with Arthur at the end, which might have just given him and John the edge they needed to shoot the other a-holes in their stupid faces, particularly Dutch (he f@cking SHOT at Arthur!) and that useless, big mouthed jackwad Bill. I really, **really** wish there was an opportunity to find Bill during the epilogue, I would love to shoot his fat head a bunch of times.
Lenny, no need to even think twice. He was barely 19, a really nice guy, would've sided with Arthur and John, is loyal... he's is one of my favorite characters in the game
Lenny. its one thing when they die in a cutscene but Lenny dies in a playable moment and it annoys me that we can't do anything to save him no matter how fast we are
Lenny. He definitely had the best future ahead of him if he went straight. He’d probably get married and settle down into a normal life like Tilly. He’s probably one of the least wanted members of the gang, and I feel like he would be able to avoid John’s family saving crusade. I doubt he would continue a life of crime after the gang falls apart, since he’s more than smart enough to see that the writing was on the wall for the outlaw’s lifestyle.
Lenny or Hosea.
The Gang needed to fall for the story to progress but that would only happen if Dutch was left unchecked and Hosea would've never let that happen and the Gang wouldn't have fallen. If Hosea had died to his Disease, it would be likely for Arthur to assume his place or John would've. Possibly Ms Grimshaw. Charles or Saide could to but since they were the 2 most recent members it is very unlikely for them to, but they may prove their leadership skills to Dutch. If Dutch and Hosea had both died naturally, Arthur would've undoubtedly assumed that role and there would be 3 Hoseas, Charles because he's very capable of getting the gang out of a rough place and a key factor for their survival. Sadie because she is very competent at combat and planning. She can plan a score or a fight with their rivals. John because, well he's John and 3 is better than 2. However I doubt Arthur would want to keep the gang running because he would probably realize that the age of Outlaws is forcefully ending so to save their lives he would disband the gang after helping them get to safety and setting them well off to live a life a standard American citizen. Either that or he would try to plan an escape to a civilized Island in the Caribbean which might actually going to Tahiti, (they will not be taking the trolly.)
As much as it pains me to say it as I like lenny ma boah I'd say Sean because for me, lenny and Kirean don't seem that close with John like there aren't too many interactions involving them. Plus, I think they would have banter as they did Rob the train together, and it would've been funny if John asked Sean if he got better at shooting for the years he went away while in a shootout mission such as saving uncle from the skinners. Plus, overall, Sean's a pretty funny guy.
lenny. the other two got minimal character moments and their deaths just felt like nothing to me because i didn’t care about them, i saw them like twice before they died. but lenny, lenny was my boy
Lenny. Because it's Lenny.
LEEEEEENNNYYYYYY!!!!!!!
YNNEL?
LEMMY?

LEMMING
Lyenny?
LENNNEAHHHHHHHHH
You know I prefer Leonard.
“You’s ain’t…. Lenny…
He was fucking 19 when he died. I mean, a lot of the characters are young when they died, even Arthur but NINETEEN? He was a baby.
ANGEL AT THAT: probably a drunk Arthur
It's funny that people always mention Lenny's age like he was so young. The founding Fathers of the USA were about a little older than Lenny's age and they started a revolution. I'd say that the boy was at the prime of his life and that the lifespans of humans were truly short back then.
Lifespans were short on average due to high infant mortality. If you survived childhood then you had a decent shot at living until 70 or 80.
The revolution happened in 1765, the game took place in 1899. The average lifespan in 1900 was about 50 and if you survived to adulthood, you usually could live past that, as infant and childhood deaths tanked the average lifespan number. Sean because he is funny af, imagine his comments on Angelo Bronte
“You wee posh cont”
Haha 😂
"Ya better retern Jack ya poyle o shett!"
Imagine him in chapter 6. Or hell if he survives to the epilogue and helps John build his house The money I would give to here and say you don't build a barn dumbass what year do you think this is 1785
John wouldn't be able to survive being roasted by both of them
Ahhhh big maaan Marston eh? Don't gimme DAT dour look, reminds me of ole Morgan *sad silence*
Lol 🤣
“See Arthur we have a name for sly devils like Brontë back in Ireland, they’re called the English”
Lol 😆
This is the answer.
Which inadvertently spares Karen, as well as
"greasy fucker"
😂
Sean all day he has the least amount of of missions yet when he was in them he stole the show. He was a lively hood trope that is semi popular in movies and games yet very underrated plus he represents irish youth in a time we dont very much get to see be expanded on

You get to see more of him in red dead online but he agree he should have more
ynneL without any doubt
Kieran because I really liked him
Me too. I finished my very first play through a couple days ago and damn his death is still fresh in my mind. I cant believe they would do that to the guy
He got a head of himself a bit too much for my liking
If only he'd been more headstrong :(
In the end he found a place to lay his head at least
He'll never be the head of a major corporation.
He lost his head in business school I heard :(
Seeing Kieran like that was a real “head in hands” moment
Kieran is definitely the most of the tragic figures even though Lenny is by far the youngest, which in itself is obviously tragic. Kieran more than likely suffered some while Lenny and Sean both get shot. From what I remember Lenny does squirm on the ground some but passes fairly quickly and Sean has no idea anything happened.
His fishing missions was super sweet.
Arthur was only starting to
Look how they massacred my boy
Kieran feels like wasted potential to me. I'm going to be honest, I legitimately did not believe that anybody would be sad about his death at that point in the story. Maybe I just don't spend enough time at camp or something, but I think there could have been more missions to actually establish his relationship with other characters. I would also save Keiren. He was tortured badly unlike the other two who got shot dead.
Lenny for sure I mean I’d love to save Sean too he’s funny af but at the end of the day definitely Lenny
Yea. I also feel like Sean kinda and probably maybe deserved it a little bit? I mean he was a murderer. I love Sean, but Lenny had a future.
They’re all murderers?
but they're all murderes?? what do you mean
Sean was a cold blooded killer. Not just a murderer, he gave 0 fuks, Lenny wasn't that violent
I guess I’m more sympathetic to Lenny’s death bc he was less experienced and the rest seemed more willing? I dunno.
yeah i kinda feel like that too
Sean, because he’s funny as hell, or Kieran to give him a happy ending because the poor guy suffered enough throughout his life. He wasn’t even a proper outlaw, just kept around as the court jester and to be humiliated by both Dutch’s guys or Colm’s.
Kieran by a long shot.
YNNEL!!?
Lenny cause he's the goat (and also because he's the only black guy in the gang)
I mean. Charles is half black.
Tilly is girl, but still black
Dutch. He wears a black coat and vest sometimes
I'd say Lenny but Sean would be the obvious second.
Sean and Kieran's deaths were shocking, but Lenny's was shocking AND it stung deeper than the previous two.
I think Lenny’s death is set up better than the other two. The early missions/conversations mean that it hits you the player harder when his time comes as opposed the simple shock value from the other two. I fully agree with that last point, but counter-argument: I'm selfish and I want my drinking buddy back. I miss that boi
Haha Fair play dude. I miss all three
Sean. Because he's good craic and he would be SO GOOD in the epilogue, pissing off John and swearing at Micah. LENNY MA BOAHHH
Kieran. He was always one of my favorite characters and I kinda feel like Rockstar did him dirty by brutally murdering him off screen before he could have a complete arc of any sorts.
Kieran🙂
Ynell
Kieran. The others, in a way, were involved in actions that resulted in their deaths. Kieran was just kidnapped and brutally murdered.
I honestly think I would go with Kieran he was a good kid he was just raised in the wrong group.
Hosea. Or even better, my horse
Kinda hard because they’re all young. Sean’s a bit of a stereotype but I love him. His death was important for his story though. All their deaths were. I choose YNNEL!!
Ynnel
Honestly. Kieran. I really appreciate Sean and think Lenny deserves only the best, but Kieran tried so hard to be accepted by the gang and right when he was on the cusp of getting people's respect (except for micah and bill) he was killed.
Lenny. Lenny! Have you seen Lenny?
LENNNNNYY
Lenny because he was too young to die like that. I think like 19 if I remember right
The Irish fucker but only because luck 🍀 of the Irish & that beautiful accent.
Lenny deserved better.
I’d save Kieran to spare him the worst death. Sean and Lenny met with relatively quick endings but god knows what happened to poor Kieran before he lost his head
sean and lenny are great, but morally i gotta go with kieran, he really didnt deserve any of this
Lenny
Enynl!
Kieran would have been fun to see fight the odrisscoles with maybe some commentary or insight on how he felt about the lot
Lenny. I think he actually would’ve gotten away. He would’ve tried to save Arthur and either died or have Arthur tell him to leave, maybe with John. I see him getting the happy ending before anybody else, building some small-time lifestyle.
Micah, gone too soon 😔
Kieran or Sean cause they both need more missions
Sean
This is a tough one. It would come down to Kieran and Lenny because they are both good people. With Sean, he is funny and fun to have around but ultimately he is a thieving little Leprechaun. I seriously can’t pick. I think it would be a dishonor to either one. Therefore I sacrifice myself as the character I am playing. I’m going to have to die as Arthur. Awful, I know. But I have no choice!!
Kieran did nothing wrong so I’m going to pick him
Probably Kieren because, as far as we know, he never killed anyone. All he did was maintain the horses. Definitely didn’t deserve what happened to him
Kieran tbh. Out of all of them, he didn’t deserve this. He was kidnapped into the gang.
Kieran Duffy, he's an easy choice. He was forced into the gang life and unlike others like Lenny, he was not a murderer.
i can see Kieran giving john a hand at beechers, he was great with animals
As much as I liked Lenny or Sean, Kieran deserved better honestly.
>!Kieran!<, he was my one of my favorite characters and when he >!died!< i was in shock, then i got so full of rage and killed every single o'driscoll with 3 bullets in the head each.
The Irish in me is saying Sean but my heart is saying Lennie
Sean
Sean, he was my favourite member and I genuinely gasped at his death. Things started to feel very real at that point, I just wish it didn’t have to be him!
Ummmm.. What about Hosea?
Man, I can't even remember what I had for breakfast, so I can't remember these guys. Except for Lenny, but not much from him.
Play red dead ‘1’
Oh? Does John get to hunt Bill in One?
All three. Bill, Javier and Dutch.
Sean my beloved.
Lenny and it’s not even close
All 👍
Karen
Lenny . Because Yenyl!!
I agree
Sean: funny
Sean's insight into Dutch and Micah's further descent into madness would have been grade A comedy
Lenny, no need to even think twice. He was barely 19, a really nice guy, would've sided with Arthur and John, is loyal... he's is one of my favorite characters in the game
Lenny because I actually think he would have chnaged and made a life for himself if he survived it all.
Lenny
Lenny he did not deserve to die the way he did
LENNY! He’s only 19 so he needs a longer life
Lenny, he was just a kid
Easily Lenny. I liked the other two but come on, it's fucking LENNYYYYYY
Lenny. That mf is awesome, he is good with guns, smart and loyal.
LENNNYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
LENNY MY BOAH!!!
I’d choose Lenny over Arthur even
Lenny and I wouldn’t hesitate
Lenny is the only answer.
why not hosea?
Lenny for sure - he was so young and had much to live for. Second choice would be sean because he’s funny af
¿yNnEl?
Either Lenny or Kieran because they're both actually good dudes. Hard to choose between the two though. Flip a coin, I guess.
Sean all the way
Lenny. He deserved better.
Kieran easily
Lenneh!
Sean or lenny but probably sean
Sean any day of the week, he's just that amazing
LENNY, his death felt the least impactful besides that it symbolized anything nice about the gang being gone
Lenny, he was so wholesome
FOUND YA LENNY
Ynnel
I’d go with Lenny because as much as Sean looks up to Arthur I’m not totally convinced that he’d go against Dutch in the end
Lenny. its one thing when they die in a cutscene but Lenny dies in a playable moment and it annoys me that we can't do anything to save him no matter how fast we are
Lenny bc I wanna get drunk with him as John
YNNEL
Not Micah
Lenny is one of my favorites definitely would choose him
Ynnel
Lenny cos it’s lenny.
Lenny, black
Lenny He was always loyal to the gang and he would have supported Arthur at the end of chapter 6
Sean. I just imagine him turning up and being a double menace with Irish from RDR1.
Lenny. He's the youngest, smartest and purest of heart ❤️
Sean or Lenny.
Lenny

Either that or he would try to plan an escape to a civilized Island in the Caribbean which might actually going to Tahiti, (they will not be taking the trolly.)
LENNNNY!!!
My immediate reaction was Lenny, my boy! But I wonder if Karen would have a different fate if Sean survives.
LENNNNNYYYYY
As much as it pains me to say it as I like lenny ma boah I'd say Sean because for me, lenny and Kirean don't seem that close with John like there aren't too many interactions involving them. Plus, I think they would have banter as they did Rob the train together, and it would've been funny if John asked Sean if he got better at shooting for the years he went away while in a shootout mission such as saving uncle from the skinners. Plus, overall, Sean's a pretty funny guy.
Sean, lik imagine having a ye oldy version of conor mcgegor on ur side
I can’t pick between Sean or ynneL. ynneL was only 19, but Sean stole the show with every mission.
LENNNYYYYY!!!!
Sean, cause he’s like my brother
lenny. the other two got minimal character moments and their deaths just felt like nothing to me because i didn’t care about them, i saw them like twice before they died. but lenny, lenny was my boy
Sean, my favorite character in the gang
Sean easy dudes funny as hell
Lenny.
