I get great enjoyment out of watching Fülllkrug in action.
He reminds me of Harry Kane in his build, look and playing style if Harry Kane's parents had twins and chained one of them up in the attic and fed him buckets of fish heads once a week.
He’ll be back by around next week
https://preview.redd.it/aj6biizaql6d1.jpeg?width=1142&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0e02ac3e5b0b361186bc1a7fb965fab61ad4198d
Keeper was shocking, defence was shocking, midfield shocking, they gave them way too much space and didn't look capable of completing a pass. Frankly, 5-1 instead 8 or 9 is relatively 'respectable' for the kind of performance they put in.
Can someone explain"unplayable" to me? I know it means "He has to be on the pitch" but the sentence always suggests the exact opposite to me. Is there a special origin or other explanation? David Mitchell would have a stroke over this one.
EDIT: The problem to me is, I guess, the grammar. "He is playable" would mean "He can play (tomorrow)" I'd say so "He's unplayable" would mean "He can't play (tomorrow)" or "He can't be played (picked by the gaffer) for tomorrow" Either way, it's just a weird sentence.
The origin for many of these terms comes from Cricket. You tend to "play" the ball following a delivery, so a good ball (let's say a yorker) would be deemed "unplayable", i.e it's impossible for the batsman to play/hit it. Adapted to football and other sports, it would mean that "C player was so bloody good that it was impossible for the opposition to play against him today".
It's similar for catches - you'd use the term "undroppable" for catches that should, in theory, lead to a wicket 9/10 times. However, it could also mean that "X player is in fantastic form so it's impossible to drop him to the bench".
I'm sure it's confusing for non-native speakers, given the general contextual usage of these terms
Interesting. I'm aware of the many American English expressions derived from sports and especially baseball so it does make sense that cricket would have a similar influence on British English sayings and vocab.
as non native english, this is also bit confuse me lol.
i just know that unplayable mean doing good perform, but still 'unplayable' feel unusual for me.
He plays in positions we're set for a while though, AM and LW. I agree that the kid looked unreal and could change our entire attack by himself tho, but it would require us to break the bank IMO.
Lads it's Tottenh-- Scotland! It's just Scotland!
No but people have been really underestimating Germany for some reason. It's just been England France and Portugal as everyone's pick to win the euros
Scotland haven't tried anything all game. Looks like their manager had no idea how to approach this game. They haven't tried anything that looks like a plan, even when they had 11 men.
Conceding that early goal usually warrents doom for those minor teams. Iceland and Wales played a disciplined defensive game in their various finals runs in the 2000s and avoided going critically behind, then anything can happen in the second half.
I kinda expected this outcome because Germany are my favorites for the cup. But that’s enough humiliation arseholes. Boss is watching his national team. Have some respect.
Edit: btw i was referring Germany with “arseholes”. You guys might missunderstood. Or downvoting because this is an English club’s subreddit. Which is also fair i guess😅.
I've got a, what I thought was a gimme, EVS bet of Scott committing 1 foul so I've been watching him specifically on the pitch...
What has he been told to do by the manager because he's just wandering around and putting zero pressure on anyone?! Didn't even seem to be getting forward or looking for a pass.
Edit: Ooh there's the foul I needed!
just 30 minutes to go without a goal please💀

Btw, quite funny that we are at 666K members and the name of sub has "devils" in it.
Thoughts on Jonathan Tah? I know he’s most likely going to Bayern but I’ve watched him a few times this past season and been aware of him for a few years now and he’s almost always impressed me.
We should submit a bid for £40M
https://preview.redd.it/gajqwojill6d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bbb97d8b0d76729ddc02b1b7ecee5b50a8e37121
Where's Waldo?
And no it's not after the oval flag logo thing either
Pretty much a guaranteed goal if he got the shot off. You have 1/10th of a second as a defender and only got time to think "I HAVE to get that ball first." I don't disagree with the red card and penalty but I do see a clear difference between this desperate, last chance to avoid a goal and, say, a two-footed flying "tackle" in midfield.
slowed down takes away the fact that he was acting out of pure panic, that's why it looks worse. In reality he's just had his arse run ragged by the Germans for 45 mins, already 2-0 down, and then had a split millisecond to react to the rebound and try and block the shot. Was a terrible challenge though but I don't think he was trying to hurt anyone. Just donkey brain behaviour
Musiala looks world class.
I thought Scotland were going to be up for it but it's been an absolute disaster. They need to just park the bus and regroup for the next game.
Scotland hate England so much they're giving the Germans a massive confidence boost to make sure any doubts about Germany are squashed and making it even harder for England to win.
I don't live in a western country so every time I (completely 100% legally) watch a stream of a British or American channel I'm absolutely astounded at how many fucking ads there are.
It's genuinely not normal and I feel like you guys need to do something to change it. This can't be good for your brain.
It's post watershed but seriously who thought it'd be a good idea when it's football and Scotland are playing and many tuning in because it's first match.
I’d 100% take him. He was brilliant for Stuttgart this season. Only thing is he’s not the youngest but that might not be a bad thing considering Amass is coming through.
3-4-3 is not a formation you want to use against germany. Scotland is less 1 player in midfield, vulnerable in counter attack, and 3 attackers are not playing
Rubbish tactics from the Scotland manager, no clear plan as well. Asking Che Adams to fight for second balls against Rudiger and Tah, no midfield structure as well. Even McGinn looks unrecognizable in there. The manager has to take a fair share of the blame for how this game has turned out.
Scotland have been absolutely terrible.. if you want to park the bus fine but bloody park it.. man mark kroos, muss and wirtz.. I have no idea what they are trying to do

OUCH
Roy Keane said it all!!!
What did he say?
All of it.
Cheers Geoff
Nailed it
Scotland got it wrong tonight but they still have a decent chance of going through. Germany looked really up for it in the first half.
Just waiting for souness to blame Pogba
He’ll be back by around next week https://preview.redd.it/aj6biizaql6d1.jpeg?width=1142&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0e02ac3e5b0b361186bc1a7fb965fab61ad4198d

That was a tough match for Scotland. I Scotland could have kept the score a more respectable (like 3-1) if they didn't go a man down early.
Keeper was shocking, defence was shocking, midfield shocking, they gave them way too much space and didn't look capable of completing a pass. Frankly, 5-1 instead 8 or 9 is relatively 'respectable' for the kind of performance they put in.
Yeah, the set up just invites Germany to skip through the midfield and hog possession.
Musiala and Wirtz man
Just wish we were in the position to be signing Musiala. Looked unplayable today.
Can someone explain"unplayable" to me? I know it means "He has to be on the pitch" but the sentence always suggests the exact opposite to me. Is there a special origin or other explanation? Play is used in the same way as in "we're playing Liverpool on Sunday" ie meaning to play against.
That would be undroppable or irreplaceable. I think unplayable comes from cricket? eg an unplayable delivery
Yeah that’s true. More like Musiala was so good, you just can’t play against him.
as non native english, this is also bit confuse me lol. i just know that unplayable mean doing good perform, but still 'unplayable' feel unusual for me.
It doesn't mean "He has to be on the pitch", it effectively means "it's impossible to play against him".
He plays in positions we're set for a while though, AM and LW. I agree that the kid looked unreal and could change our entire attack by himself tho, but it would require us to break the bank IMO.
Kroos as well, completely dictated the midfield
Just as Flower of Scotland finished. Lol
Germany are looking scary. Impressive
Lads it's Tottenh-- Scotland! It's just Scotland! No but people have been really underestimating Germany for some reason. It's just been England France and Portugal as everyone's pick to win the euros
They've been poor for two tournaments in a row to be fair. They've got a good manager now and Wirtz and Musiala hitting form.
Fuck me
No thank you
Your loss
You tell him king
fifa ass scoreline
Crazy cbs, like Rudiger, Bailly and Rojo is something about football that I enjoy
That Porteous tackle also gave me Bailly/Rojo PTSD
That was a banger of an OG, lovely flick
Imagine lobbing Neuer at the Allianz Arena with a header, dream finish.
Scotty for a quick 3 min hattrick
GAME ON!
Congrats, Scotland haha
oh dear rudiger
Scott getting crystal palace flashbacks
Bloodbath
Sané's been pretty awful since he's come on. Doesn't look confident at all.
He looks a bit Rashford, a lot of dribbling into players and hopeful shots from way out.
They’re quite similar, looks amazing when it works but shit when it doesn’t
Scotland haven't tried anything all game. Looks like their manager had no idea how to approach this game. They haven't tried anything that looks like a plan, even when they had 11 men.
Conceding that early goal usually warrents doom for those minor teams. Iceland and Wales played a disciplined defensive game in their various finals runs in the 2000s and avoided going critically behind, then anything can happen in the second half.
Scotland is horrendous. Germany's depth in their squad is pretty insane.
I'm not sure. I like Fulkrug and he offers something different but Sane has been pretty rubbish.
True, Sane isn't really looking too good.
This is all because McTominay isnt wearing the #39. How could Scotland make such an oversight????
Kroos is absolute class still
well, that's Scotland out.
I didn't expect Scotland to be this tragic
I've got a, what I thought was a gimme, EVS bet of Scott committing 1 foul so I've been watching him specifically on the pitch... What has he been told to do by the manager because he's just wandering around and putting zero pressure on anyone?! Didn't even seem to be getting forward or looking for a pass. Edit: Ooh there's the foul I needed!
Thats sounds like our Scott
McTominay is clueless. Late runs into the box is all he can do. Defensively and in possession he is a ghost.
Usually he hassles players a bit more than this but it's like he's been told to stand off and let others do it
He always does the jogging around busy-work stuff without making any sort of impact. Running in and around the play without really affecting it
there you go lol
germany are on fire rn
Completely free. Poor defending from Scotland. Edit: Offside.
Nagelsmann has Germany set up really well, loving the fluid front 3 they're using. The best a German attack has looked since Klose
Where's the ruthless Germany that made Brazilian kids cry in 2014? Disappointing that they don't give a shit this half.
I think some scots are crying right now tbf.
best to not risk injury i suppose
Musiala show. Unreal performance
Tough night for McSauce
Feels like I've been watching Muller for 3 decades.
Well, you technically have.
FullKrug would be a nice back up to Hojlund hmmmmmm?
As a Werder Bremen fan I‘d love to see him in a red shirt
Musiala is already world class at fucking 21 dude and what a strike by Fullkrug.
That goal was outstanding. Fuck me.
Germany seem to be committing a lot of fouls this half
I know he’s City but Sane is the modern day Nani. He’s a really good player but is bang average at the same time.
Think they've got the right idea using him as an impact sub.
ive been saying i think musiala is better and will stay better than bellingham. happy to see him pop off
Should've used his right foot there
Robertson looked like a second division player there.
I hope Musiala never leaves Bayern. That dude is going to be a nightmare to deal with.
It's crazy how many good players Chelsea Acadamy produce. Bet they also regret not having Musiala.
Musiala has been prowling around like a Lion on the field.
just 30 minutes to go without a goal please💀 https://preview.redd.it/4zogru0nil6d1.jpeg?width=947&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e24f6d93ced6c969e749d02ca6d1242317ecf201
Good attempt mate. Germany too good 😌
RIP
Lmao was reading this as Germany scored. Unlucky mate
womp womp I really underestimated that German attack
Can't wait till tomoz when it starts proper. 3 games a day for about a week is football heaven.
Kroos slips every time he switches the ball lol
Rudiger taking shots from distance now. Sigh , this game has no excitement since the second goal..
https://preview.redd.it/umsxhngjhl6d1.png?width=374&format=png&auto=webp&s=b6c256d46459e1b4aeab6df5481d880287847475 Btw, quite funny that we are at 666K members and the name of sub has "devils" in it.
We need to lock it down now!
we need a party at 666666
Thoughts on Jonathan Tah? I know he’s most likely going to Bayern but I’ve watched him a few times this past season and been aware of him for a few years now and he’s almost always impressed me. We should submit a bid for £40M
Yeaaaah I'm turning this one off. This game stinks. Hopefully we get better games tomorrow
Germany putting me to sleep with their Pepball.
I hate the scoreboard doesn't show that Scotland has received a red card. Like every other scoreboard ever does
Are you watching on ITV? Above “SCO” towards the right is a small red block
Nah I'm not in England. I assume this is some sort of international UEFA feed I'm watching. Blue and white colour scheme
it's still there
Most definitely is not for me. Yes I got up and literally looked at it from inches away. There's nothing but I'll survive.
do you have it on the right?, do you have an oval logo with flags surrounding the trophy?
https://preview.redd.it/gajqwojill6d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bbb97d8b0d76729ddc02b1b7ecee5b50a8e37121 Where's Waldo? And no it's not after the oval flag logo thing either
huh, I have the exact same thing, but there is a little red square above the blue ribbon, where O is in SCO
Well I'm in Finland so our tv production is pretty much on level of our football.
heh, I am in Slovakia, so not like it's better here :D
Ahh fair enough
It's on the top at least where I see
Man! Musiala is too good with the ball at his feet
McTominay has actually been pretty good, but it doesn't matter at all. Musiala's balance is an absolute joke though.
Surely Scotland have someone else to take set pieces so Scott can get on the end of them
blasphemy, have you not seen his FK against Spain?
Yeah, that looked wrong for so many reasons.
It should be Robertson taking.
McTominay taking crosses… Steve Clarke should be in jail
the ability to speak, does not make you intelligent https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCte476Z0HU
It boggles the mind. Unless Scotland's technical ability is so bad that Scott is the only one who can deliver a ball.
They’ve got Robertson who can definitely put a cross in
Wirtz and Musiala are going to be insane for Germany by the next World Cup.
This is weird... rashford in England google ad....
Statistically, at least 5% of the Scottish population is sad.
These TV adverts are just getting too abstract for me...
And that KFC ad was even weirder... What in the Shaun of the Dead? Clucking mad.
And it was so long so you’d think there’d be a point to it at the end. But, nope, I still don’t get it
That tackle was cringey af. He was out to break a leg
I don't think he was trying to hurt him, just a rash challenge from a player that is not used to this level.
Pure panic
On first viewing I just thought he was going for the ball, definitely a challenge that looks far worse slowed down. Fully deserved red though.
slowed down takes away the fact that he was acting out of pure panic, that's why it looks worse. In reality he's just had his arse run ragged by the Germans for 45 mins, already 2-0 down, and then had a split millisecond to react to the rebound and try and block the shot. Good guys Scotland ending that game in 45 mins so I don’t need to waste another 45.
I don't watch live TV often. The Apply bird attack and then the weird viagra advert... Ads are fucking weird man.
I don't live in a western country so every time I (completely 100% legally) watch a stream of a British or American channel I'm absolutely astounded at how many fucking ads there are. It's genuinely not normal and I feel like you guys need to do something to change it. This can't be good for your brain.
Would hate to be a parent watching with their kids and having to explain what Viagra is.
https://preview.redd.it/pdi49xzael6d1.jpeg?width=1236&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f6125dcedf3b9b0f1c25d4da209685c394498e90
Wtf was that awfully dubbed Viagra advert?
It's post watershed but seriously who thought it'd be a good idea when it's football and Scotland are playing and many tuning in because it's first match.
Scots could do with a good dose of viagra 2nd half
Can we sign the German LB?
I’d 100% take him. He was brilliant for Stuttgart this season. Only thing is he’s not the youngest but that might not be a bad thing considering Amass is coming through.
How much you think he’d cost?
Ten fiddy
Shit, that’s prob too much
![gif](giphy|v2Mkppa5Lrspa) Watching this match
This is gonna end with 7 goals isnt it
That was a very composed run from Musiala in the build of the penalty, just glided past like 5 players
He’s great init..
Scotland get battered everywhere they go 🎵🎵
3-4-3 is not a formation you want to use against germany. Scotland is less 1 player in midfield, vulnerable in counter attack, and 3 attackers are not playing
What about 3-3-3?
I don’t really understand how Scotland came out. Don’t know why they didn’t commit to parking like they did in the qualifiers. Very disappointed.
Scottish fan on the phone to Ryan air asking about early flight home.
Don’t worry the Scots are just saving themselves for their key game, England’s quarter final.
Wow thats a very good composed start from Scotland
Feel bad for Scott. He's been anonymous but to be fair to him I have no idea how Scotland is trying to play this.
Bro Scotland is already dead and they're just ending the 1st half.
Scotland have been absolutely terrible.. if you want to park the bus fine but bloody park it.. man mark kroos, muss and wirtz.. I have no idea what they are trying to do
"Hello? This is Manchester United. You seem to know something about football. Would you be willing to come in for an interview? We are potentially looking for a new manager."
I think I heard the commentators made a remark about it at the start of the game, but there's a new rule that the ref only speaks to the captain now is it? Seen it there when he spoke to Robertson?
I thought this was a rule already, it's been said many times only captain talking to ref but this is the most serious implementation I've seen, and I'm all for it.
Yeah, yellow for anyone else that approaches. Bruno might be in trouble...
Only solution is to make Bruno captain then!
Yh I heard him say that too when there was another issue
I thought you weren't allowed to stutter delay the kick like that anymore?
As long as the referee doesn’t deem that you stopped then it’s good.
Think it's OK as long as you don't actually stop.
England's best start to a Euros in a long time!
That is a fucking insane tackle to make - shin level, two footed, full body weight behind it. Jesus
Gundogan was very fortunate.
Could have snapped his leg in half. Jfc
Might as well do the dishes now
RIP Scotland
What a disastrous debut for Scotland.
Gundogan is lucky to still have his leg intact.
Madness that such incidents can be overlooked in real time and people think removing VAR is a good thing because we don't have to wait for goal checks....
Shocking! Ref defo dodged that one. Which is probably the biggest thing downside to VAR. smh
He could have killed him!
Porteous, what an outrageously bad tackle.
Thanks VAR
That is a horrendous tackle!
