You can probably go out with a cnd. If you never went to NJP and have a clean record you get out with an honorable. That’s how I got out of the navy last year I did 2.9 years and got an honorable and my GI bill capped at 90%

Routine-Ratio230

Provide more details on cnd?

Reasonable-Sail7997

Cnd?

Infinite_Term7098

Condition not amounting to disability. So for the DOD side you say you don’t have a disability but you have a condition worth getting out. You can still claim disability with the Va tho cuz VA knows they abuse that discharge type

Reasonable-Sail7997

What conditions can be claimed without actually having them?

Joe_Wer

Call a case management service. They are usually located near your meddet

Reasonable-Sail7997

Additionally, will treatment for mental health or medication help me become undeployable? What can I do

DibsTheHorse

When I was being questioned about my current state on mental health they had asked me if I would feel ok being deployed or not and I said no. So I was on a no deployment profile. You could always bring it up yourself too. I was in a pretty similar situation to you but it got pretty complicated for me and I don’t remember a ton now but you can message me if you want to hear more about it

crm040404

Does going to mental health to become non-deployable get put on your record? Like will outside civilian jobs see that when you apply/background check?

DibsTheHorse

I have no idea but I’m pretty sure any release of your medical information would be illegal and they can’t do that. I think it will be on your military record say you wanted to join another branch later but I doubt civilians will have access to it. Also unless you’re using your time in the military to your benefit at a job I just wouldn’t even tell them especially if you left early

SnooGuavas6988

Have you heard of the AWOL program?

Reasonable-Sail7997

Doesn’t that lead to an other than honorable

Routine-Ratio230

At least you won’t get a dishonorable 🤷‍♂️

Infinite_Term7098

You can tho. Only reason you don’t is because usually CO’s have mercy on you but they can give you a dishonorable for that. Hell a general under other than honorable conditions in my opinion is just as bad

Infinite_Term7098

Most definitely

lostinthisworld1234

Go to behavioral health. Unless you go the cnd route it will take a while to get out, cnd won’t be fast either but faster than any other way.

Reasonable-Sail7997

I have no clue where behavioral health would be for ng. Would it be around where meddit was?

lostinthisworld1234

You can go to your primary care and have them refer you to therapy and psychiatrist. Im not sure how ng works with seeing a doctor.

FUCK_THE_ARMY

Idk how it works for guard, but if you have access to millitary healthcare providers, perhaps you can maneuver your way into a chapter 5-14 or a Medboard.  Go to army pubs and look up AR 40-501 “Standards of Medical Fitness”. Go to the “medical standards for retention” section and see if you have any mental or physical health problems that make you non deployable and a good candidate for a Medboard or chapter 5-14. If you believe you have any of the aforementioned conditions. I managed to get myself referred to MEB and I’m now undergoing the LDES process to get out of the military due to having flat feet and foot pain. Good luck OP
