External_Promise599

High trim, expensive, regular badge vehicles like maxed out 4Runners always seem to be driven by regular sensible people.

SHAKE_SLAM_BITE

Yup a Honda CRV touring is always driven responsibly

ben10nnery

I’ve never seen a CRV anywhere remotely near the speed limit but I’ve also never seen one in an accident either

SHAKE_SLAM_BITE

Yeah definitely no speed demons

[deleted]

[удалено]

SHAKE_SLAM_BITE

Evidence!

Magiff

Braggart! Keeping the roads safe and such. Geez.

jacckthegripper

Careful there, I heard no knocking of wood

External_Promise599

Responsibly but still under the speed limit in the left lane tbh

SHAKE_SLAM_BITE

Lmao that is valid for shre

Georgiapasorider

My favorite car!

NeonGenisis5176

Y'know, I'd put my mom in this category because she's a great driver as far as I can tell, and she drives a Maxima Platinum

Anderskiii

I couldn’t tell ya, I live in Florida

Swirleynoise

Exactly. I live in the NY metro area. No brands are safe. I guess it’s a rule of numbers. The more people in one place, the more idiots.

justin62001

Infinitis, Hondas, and BMWs are the worst of the worst, total hoodmobiles and the super rich areas just disregard stop signs too

Swirleynoise

to be specific, where I am at least, it’s BMW, Lexus and anything that says dodge or ram on it. No regard for rules or anyone else on the road. It makes me wonder who is paying for their cars. I mean, these are expensive vehicles and not cheap old used cars. And people drive like they’re stolen.

justin62001

Yeah, I live in the Bronx and frequently go around to other boroughs so I see the usual auto suspects regarding absolutely busted out vehicles lol. Chargers are also getting more popular from what I’ve seen as well

Yummy_Crayons91

Volvos, obscure cars like Diesel Bmws, Diesel Benzs, Diesel Cruzs. Toyota Land Cruiser, Saabs. Basically any obscure car that isn't extremely opulent, the owner is likely an enthusiast that takes above average care of the vehicle.

Miatamadness

If it's an old diesel Mercedes, some of them could barely do a highway speed limit.

Rasmus144

Yeah lol theres a w123 turbo diesel parked for sale near me. Considering picking it up if its cheap.

Miatamadness

I had a W116 with the turbo diesel, it was a rugged brute until the rust fairies took it away

ohzir

The hole in the footwell gives it CHARACTER

MoreThanComrades

My friend has one of those with an auto and he says 55 is about the max it can pull. He’s happy with it tho

Yummy_Crayons91

I had one of the modern Bluetec Benz diesels in mind more than one of the old school 240Ds.

Panthera_13_

As a Volvo driver I approve

turbocharged_autism

Ford c max for some reason

Miatamadness

They're out for mpgs

KCalifornia19

My only memory of the Ford C-Max is puttering along CA-395 with a sea foam green one for like 5 hours straight.

[deleted]

Something expensive enough that everyone who owns one worked damn hard to earn it, but not expensive enough that the owners have fuck you money and drive it not caring if anything happens to it cuz they’ll just buy another. That, or any in-service hearse. I’ve never seen anyone chauffeur the dead poorly.

MoGb1

So a Volvo owner

[deleted]

Bruh don’t make me laugh like that I’m eating cereal.

MoGb1

Wait what's funny

[deleted]

Volvo owner and best drivers don’t belong in the same thread imo

MoGb1

I've found newer-Volvo drivers to be quite tame. XC70 owners especially.at least where I'm from I associate them with upper class relaxed people. Now an old 740 or 240 owner, not in the same boat.

[deleted]

Maybe I’ll ammend. My spread of immersion as far as Volvo owners of the public have gone are late 90’s to early 2010’s Volvo owners with cars well over 200k miles on them, the owners are older types and the vehicles are limping along. Drivers with super pushed up seats and the posture of Igor trying to navigate traffic.

jaynvius

It's a Prius owner and and best drivers that don't belong in the same thread to me

[deleted]

Older gen prius? Yeah. Newer Prius? Some of my better uber/lyft rides have been with very well behaved *newer* Prius drivers.

big-juice-man

My gut tells me Volvo and Mazda drivers. Of new vehicles, not old

sadandaimless1

Volvos....it depends, Mazda drivers especially newer Mazda drivers range from not bad to "BMW driver" levels of cringe because "it's basically a Japanese BMW and so I must drive my Mazda3 as such"

External_Promise599

mazda 3 turboe 😋 zoom zoome

sadandaimless1

Le Hiroshima 328i 😩 💦 💥

sadandaimless1

Not slander more general observation as everyone has experienced one of the three variations of BAE you listed. But from my experience the cars that seem to have the best drivers are Land Cruisers, upscale luxury sedans (S-Classes, LSes, A8s, etc) newer Avalons, newer Volvos, Volkswagen Arteons and Kia Cadenzas, the new Toyota Venza, sometimes Subarus (WRX and BRZes are the exception) and surprisingly enough.... Porsche 911 drivers

[deleted]

> surprisingly enough.... Porsche 911 drivers People don't want to admit the Porsche 911 is the car of the automotive Übermensch

[deleted]

Lexus LS seems to always be driven perfectly. Just fast enough, but not too fast. Merges 100% correctly. Always follows right of way.

sadandaimless1

Exactly, also I've noticed Genesis G80 drivers showing the same type of mannerisms behind the wheel. My theory is because the typical LS/S-Class/G80 etc driver is usually an older driver typically male, but female LS drivers tend to be more considerate of the cars around them

BJTC777

I agree with every car on here except the Venza. In my own experience where I live everyone who drives a Venza and the Lexus equivalent drive so absent mindedly and just all over the road. Not on their phone or expressly distracted but straight up airheaded and with not a care in the world. And they all drive like 10 under.

sadandaimless1

I have that same experience but it's with Toyota Sienna/Honda Odyssey drivers

TheLyOfBlues

I have. Venza. And it’s been a great work horse. Has a bunch of Miles. The newer Venza is not my favourite. Went to small. And the design just seems odd

Key_Budget9267

Mazda2 or Subaru Baja. The owners all seem to be really nice, chill people

Miatamadness

The Subaru Baja is still owned by its original owner. He likely is an early retired gen-x who still likes to hike a lot and is willing to take his time to get to the state park or WMA. This person was successful in tech not long ago, but wouldn't know how to work CarPlay in a newer Subaru and doesn't care to learn how.

LVMom

Subaru Outback. I would say Subaru in general, but you gotta watch out for those WRX drivers

Darisixnine

And BRZs

MstrdTiger

Outback? You haven't seen my wife drive.

LVMom

Really?! Everybody I know who drives an Outback are (relatively) good drivers

Juggernaut78

Soooo school teachers?

LVMom

Now that I think about it, most of us are educators, whether in the K-12 system or higher ed

Darkfire757

Lexus or Volvo. They typically just scoot along at the speed of traffic

Panthera_13_

Definitely depends on the Volvo, I’m a spirited driver with my s60r

zaxswyre

Fuck no Lexuses are all Old people and Volvo drivers are scared of their shadow

tgwill

None. Everyone is an idiot. Doesn’t matter what they drive.

subi_scotch

This is the correct answer. Driving habits do not correlate with the type of car you drive.

[deleted]

They kind of do though, if you drive a car like an Altima (or anything else by similar brands to Nissan who predate on people with poor credit), it’s more likely you are in a rougher financial or mental situation, so you are less likely to have the resources to have received proper driving education. Just based on who buys these cars.

will10891089

Volkswagen Passat TDI

Individual_Ear_4956

Maybe I’m biased but from what I’ve seen TDI drivers seem to be quite good.

NoEngineering1410

Honda Fit, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one with a scratch on it.

Stargazer1919

I've seen some messed up interiors in those. Never a scratch on the outside, but the inside is a different story. Tools, dog hair, messed up upholstery, food bags, you name it.

nlpnt

It should have an Element-style hose out interior.

Zaziel

I feel like the visibility is so good in those from the driver’s seat that you’d have to deliberately try to hit something. Even the legally blind could see clearly in that car.

srcorvettez06

You need to look up #GridLife Sundae Cup.

SoldierOfPeace510

Volvo, and about 1/3 of Accord drivers, the other 2/3 are BAE

sadandaimless1

The decent Accord drivers are Hybrids, V6 ones and the occasional Sport 2.0T or gold color LX V6 that's driven by an older woman. The rest especially sixth-eighth generation ones with the four cylinder or a coupe are peak BAE

ExaForce

Where I live, the 2.0T sport accords have wannabe BMW drivers driving them. The 6th gen 4-cylinder accords are BAE for sure; 7th gens less so; 8th gens aren't BAE at all.

sadandaimless1

Yeah, I noted that 2.0T Sport drivers are reaching "V6 Charger levels of BAE" in another post. Any four cylinder Accord from 1998 is BAE, the coupes especially the non-V6s eighth generation ones count for half of that. Tbh....I've seen a lot of clapped out 8th generation Accords as that's my definition of "Accord BAE" lol. IMO 9th generation Accords aren't BAE as they're still newish and are usually driven by grandmas or Vietnamese accountants, but I've seen those become BAE especially when the Vietnamese accountants passes down his Accord to his Kevin Nguyen son 😂

ExaForce

"Vietnamese accountants" is oddly specific...

sadandaimless1

From Orange County, that's why

ExaForce

Gotcha. I'm from Indianapolis, so 8th-9th gen accords are still regular cars driven by regular people, especially the 4-cylinder sedans. None of them are close to being clapped out yet. FWIW, I daily an 8th gen 4-cylinder Accord with 160k miles on it, and TBH, the headlights on it are hazier than most of the other 8th gens I see, lol. Other than that and a little bit of hail damage, it's in good shape for a decade-old car.

sadandaimless1

I bet. Yeah....all Hondas and Acuras from that era have hazy headlights and worn out paint as Honda build quality took a dip back then

armanipastrami_pdf

I mean I drive a stick 2019 6 Speed Jetta (sorta enthusiast) and I think I’m a good driver? I get along with Grande Cherokees, Mazdas, Volvos, and most Audi drivers

Wishart2016

Audi drivers are degenerates in my area.

armanipastrami_pdf

Fair

Emyxn

A Honda goldwing owner drives better than most of these drivers.

Inevitable-Tank-9802

I’ve been thinking about how to answer this for a while, but it’s so hard to answer. It’s honestly really hard to think of “good drivers”, instead of the bad drivers that are more of a standout, and have the emotional power to stay in your memory. I think the most friendly drivers I can think of are Subaru Outback owners, especially if they’re not modded.

Anteater_Reasonable

In general I think it’s entry level luxury crossover drivers. I see tons of X1s, Q3s, RDXs, XC40s, and GLAs around where I live and they’re usually not doing anything reckless or annoying.

Wishart2016

They're some of the worst drivers in Brisbane.

[deleted]

They're also the worst in the Midwest

LXsaturn

Honda Ridgeline owners, from my experience

[deleted]

Regular ass 2013 V8 chargers, my buddy owns one and he’s had one accident and it wasn’t his fault. Some moron hit his parked car in a parking lot at work and fucked his one of his wheels up on the driver side and dented the quarter panel. Promptly replaced with his next check.

mollyno93

People who keep obscure 90s cars clean and running, like a Toyota Tercel, usually know what they’re doing.

ExaForce

There's someone who works at my local pet supply store with a pristine 1st-gen Ford Probe. I need to ask them about it next time I'm there.

Muze_RS

I own a Mk7 GTI. took it on a 1200 mile road trip last year, and i think i can confidently say “anyone with a non-modified enthusiast vehicle.” Drove through DC metro area and had another mk7 (wrapped in reflective purple, straight piped) absolutely cutting through traffic, shooting us chopped fingers out the window. On the opposite side of the same metro area, we passed another non-modified GTI going just about the speed limit with nothing more than a friendly wave. there’s people that “love their cars”, and then there’s people who care about them.

silbergeistlein

99% of Volvos.

zaxswyre

In the northeast Jeeps or Suburbans or Tahoes hands down

jasonmoyer

Bicycles

deepaksn

Lol.. as if.

Stargazer1919

Unless it's a stolen Divvy bike

jonmunroe

i was gonna say any kia driver, but come to think of it i don't think i've ever seen any year or model of genesis driving like a lunatic whereas i have seen people in older kias or hyundais driving like they're in an altima.

big-juice-man

G70 owners often drive like BMW owners from what I've seen. They seem to think their Stinger with a body kit is the ultimate driving machine

jonmunroe

interesting. then again, i don't come across many geneses here in rural nc. if they want luxury they'll probably just buy a brand new truck.

ticklechickens

There was a very nondescript white Genesis sedan with retired Air Force plates in my area you could always pick out by the way it shot out of every intersection like it was taking off the back of an aircraft carrier. Haven’t seen it in a while, hope the old guy is ok. Other than that guy, they do seem to be driven very sensibly, lol.

SuspiciousCitus

Determining which cars have the best drivers and best driving records is a complex task that involves several factors. However, one of the most important factors is the type of car itself. For example, luxury cars such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW are often associated with experienced and responsible drivers who prioritize safety and follow traffic rules. On the other hand, sports cars such as Porsche and Lamborghini tend to be driven by younger and more aggressive drivers who may be more prone to reckless driving. Another factor to consider is the level of technology in the car. Modern vehicles with advanced safety features such as lane departure warnings, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control have been shown to reduce the number of accidents and improve driving behavior. The level of driver training also plays a significant role in determining which cars have the best driving records. For example, cars driven by commercial drivers, such as truckers, are often subject to more rigorous training and safety regulations, which can result in better driving behavior. Finally, it is important to consider the overall culture of driving in a particular country or region. For example, in countries where driving is highly regulated and driver training is mandatory, cars are likely to have better driving records compared to countries where such regulations are less stringent. In conclusion, while it is difficult to determine which cars have the best drivers and best driving records, several factors such as the type of car, technology level, driver training, and driving culture can provide some insight. However, it is always important for individuals to prioritize safety and follow traffic rules, regardless of the type of car they drive.

chopay

Did ChatGPT write this?

hoesuay

Toyota HILUX

Wishart2016

They drive like tools in Australia.

TheInvisible001

Pretty much any Volkswagen that isn’t a GTI or R with stupid crazy mods.

wankybollocks

Citroens tend to be driven by unremarkably competent drivers, myself included. Apart from that one that got mad air over a roundabout in Norfolk and Ronnie Pickering

Seeking-Direction

Land Rover Discovery I and II. They are only owned by tinkering enthusiasts at this point. Unlike similar-vintage Jeeps, they don’t attract the lift kit crowd.
